H-U-G-E
Also, someone earlier said the Free Lakota bank is full of scandal and intrigue....I googled that and only found one conspiracy theory website.....so I think we are safe lol
*dons tin foil hat*  Roll Eyes
I googled the same thing and came to the same conclusion. I mean, I don't trust many websites/media websites nowadays, but still....there was minimal/negligible bad stuff on Lakoto, and it was only a couple very weird websites.

So, the question is "TO TRUST OR NOT TO TRUST?!"  Huh

TO BE OR NOT TO BE... on Mazacoin markets ?

To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of Maza right now.

If legit, it potentially can be rather big. Or perhaps it's all a scam.

Has there been any documented proof that the coin will be accepted as a currency by any tribe? And by that I mean the tribe themselves saying such, or an article quoting a tribal leader somewhere? Any official news somewhere (and twitter doesn't count)?

Not sure yet if this is a pump and dump coin, or we should just buy it up and hold longterm. I don't have many coins, but just wondering how this will turn out.

To summarize... the answer is no, there has been no statement from the tribe, only from the coin developers and those connected with them.
And even they only say that they intend for it to be adopted as a currency, not that it has been.

A Post Launch Statement From The Creator Of MazaCoin

Wednesday - February 26, 2014 10:00 AM ET USA

When I designed MazaCoin I did so with a projected life span of at least a century. MazaCoin is not only a global Crypto Currency, but the Sovereign National Coinage of a people and culture so ancient it boggles the mind. The Oglala Lakota are the most direct genetic descendants of the Clovis, the very first Native Americans in what is now called the USA. The history of the Clovis dates back at least 12,000 years and quite possibly much more. So for the Oglala Lakota, a year, five years - even a century, is but a speck in the sands of time.

MazaCoin was designed to be real, usable money - not a pump and dump scrypt coin. Anyone who gets involved in MazaCoin looking to make a fast buck is in for a serious disappointment. The one year target for MazaCoin is between 0.25 and 1.00 USD per MazaCoin. The five year target is between 2.00 and 3.00 USD per MazaCoin. This is the sort of slow gentle deflation curve that I spoke of in the MazaCoin White Paper, and this slow curve is what ultimately will make MazaCoin a premier global Crypto Currency and a truly usable National coinage for the Oglala Lakota Nation.

The MazaCoin Development Team welcomes everyone from the worldwide Crypto Community to join us, to develop services and to invest and mine MazaCoin. But if you are doing so looking to cash out next week with big profits, you need to seek out one of the latest "Meme" coins - because MazaCoin is simply not designed to behave that way.

This guy ^^ murraypaul just goes around alt forums spreading FUD. He keeps saying the same things over and over in here. He doesn't like that Maza is taking BTC hashpower.
So don't bother engaging him. He doesn't care about Alt coins. Only BTC. He will keep speaking FUD here and anywhere he can about Alts.

He does not care that it's been stated over and over that it's official. These people will keep repeating themselves. In the face of proof.

There is an army of BTC people that HATE alt coins. Hate them. Expect them here to hate on maza.
Currently Maza has taken 5% of BTC hashpower. That is why he is here. The trolls are coming.

https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/

At around 3-4 AM PST (6-7 AM EST) this morning I want everyone to lay down any extra BTC they have and push Maza to 80k votes at a minimum.

That is what the other coins will do as well. So anyone that can afford 0.01 BTC do it! Anyone that has 0.1 BTC do that then. If you have
"X" amount of BTC in Maza then take 3-5% of that and put it to the votes. Listing on Cryptsy will add 160,000 new users to potentially
buy into Maza. Even if you need to sell 3% of your maza to do it. Cryptsy is located in Florida so that will be right before they decide.

I really like Mintpal but Cryptsy is the big boy and they have far far more users still.

Just need top 2. And that will do it.
And to the others asking - yes this is the floor price (5000-6500). I said it yesterday and called it correct so far.
So it's about in 3hours exactly from now?
8 hours and 30mins till 7am Est

Time to vote! 6am now in Florida.

The question is who has it been stated by?
The development team, not the Lakota Nation themselves.
And, to quote the development team's own press release:
Quote
"The MazaCoin Development Team does not speak for the Oglala Lakota Nation, it's government or it's people"
So, again, where has it ever been stated, by the Lakota Nation themselves, that they have adopted this coin as a national currency?

I'm not saying that the coin itself is a scam.
I'm saying that the claims made by people on this forum are not backed up by what has actually been said.

I'm saying that the claims made by people on this forum are not backed up by what has actually been said.

It's coming straight from the headlines and public statements, like this article from The Verge: http://www.theverge.com/2014/3/5/5469510/native-americans-assert-their-independence-through-cryptocurrency-mazacoin

But Chase Iron Eyes, South Dakota legal counsel for the Lakota, believes the federal government will push back if MazaCoin succeeds. "There hasn’t been a tribal nation that has declared its own currency and has mandated that that currency is used within its borders," Iron Eyes says. "But it’s because of this pervasive, ever-present asserted dominion of the United States. They’ll try to shut us down, try to cite us with law violations."

Hey murraypaul, I was just joking with you, but again, any questions that you have can be directed to the mazacoin guys directly and that will be your best source of info.

I would ask them and see what they say.
