in the process of updating art and ANNAnnouncing galaxycoin - GLX, the latest and innovative PoW/PoS coin! Fair start with zero premined!
Galxycoin is a descedant of Novacoin, it uses both Proof of Work and Proof of Stake. It is effectively resistent to 51% attack. It provides steady coin supply at 64 coins per block, for 8 years. The difficulty retargeted each block, with the last 10 blocks average, this ensures a fast adjustment to the network hashrate, while maintaining a stable transition. The total coins mined will be 538,214,400 coins. Galaxycoin has a fair start and zero premined, making it one of the best of the altcoins exist today. Specifications: - Proof of work/proof of stake - Scrypt - 30 seconds block time - 64 coins per block - Retarget every block using last 10 blocks average (Reflected in Gravity Well) - Trade confirmation: 3 - Mint confirmation: 50 - Total number of coins 538,214,400 (8 Years) - fair start, no premine - port: Connection 15521 and RPC Port 15522 - Random Block Rewards - Gravity Well Exchange: Cryptsy.com: https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/78Mining Pools: Danbi's pool- NEW FORKhttp://glxpool.digsys.bg0% fees Cryptcoins NEW FORKhttp://galaxy.cryptcoins.netProportional Payout If you are a pool dev, please send me your details, so that I may update the page, If I missed a pool, let me know Blockchain explorer: Will be up soon (hopefully)Download: Windows Client Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!7wxziYSa!kA0RUpyT04spvzpwxLKp7-a6v6npsEMhNYmEhMXVmro Source Code Download: https://github.com/icecube45/galaxycoinSample galaxycoin.conf: listen=1 daemon=1 server=1 rpcuser=**Yourusername** rpcpassword=**Yourpassword** rpcport=15522 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 addnode= 87.209.206.80 addnode= 71.4.209.204 addnode= glx.verters.com addnode= 193.68.21.36 Getting Started: 1. I am not sure if you can completely switch the algorithm after a fork.

Also, the addnodes in the original post is old. Use these: addnode=83.144.80.226 addnode=188.226.169.38 addnode=85.14.38.62 addnode=109.197.13.54 addnode=2.236.53.94 addnode=54.201.121.142 addnode=162.220.246.58 After you update the downloading of the blockchain should be much faster.

In the next few days, I plan on putting up a functional block crawler, and updating the art The update to the client (reason for this takeover), solves a few errors (this is NOT mandatory) If you are going to update the client you might as well put a new fork out there. In the fork, if we can make it so that after a block changes the difficulty doesn't change more than 1% either way that would be awesome. The biggest reason this coin is having the problems it is having is due to those difficulty spikes. Making the difficulty change very small (1% or something similar) will do wonders.

I've been thinking about a fork, and I feel I will do it. Ckoeber, I'd like to invite you to the dev team, you were a huge part of keeping the old community alive, and I would love to hear all of your ideas

Ha, I agree with you there, and I wish I could change it, however, I'm just helping this old coin stay afloat

Perhaps we should look at implementing the Kimoto Gravity Well (KGW) difficulty algorithm. Vertcoin, Anoncoin, RonPaulCoin and others have moved to the Kimoto Gravity Well as discussed here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=431104.0
