One of the best ways to define a project that is deceiving already at the stage of organizing an ISO is, of course, a team. Fake profiles, photoshop, non-existent people, no public speaking. These are the main signs. Fraudsters will never show their real faces.
A bad idea can be identified by careful study of white paper.

Since last year there have been numerous case of fake bounty and ico. Many didn't paid and many collapsed. The main problem lies when people get greedy for getting more bounties or stakes and at the end all their hard work turns fruitless. Moreover many people are creating more than one account in social media campaigns and thereby posting/sharing which ultimately gives no result. Many ico could not reach their speculated or target caps and thereby closing their projects. Its better do our on research the more we can and then continue.Have a nice day all.

Pls what are the best way to detect fake ico and fake project... We can't continue working to promote them and later discovered that it is bounch of fake... We really need tools to detect fake ico
I think the fake ICO usually has unclear development teams as well as those who do not float. And fake ICOs are usually very high for you while asking for a simple rejoin and do not need much work. That's the best way to know if it's a fake or real ICO. Hope this helps you

detecting fake ico and bounty is indeed very difficult, but it's not an impossible thing for us to do. We can try to look carefully at the project whitepaper, & more analysis on who the developers are involved.

There is no proper analysis to find out which ones are genuine and fake. You can analyze yourself how ico is truly original. You can see from the team, concepts and vision and mission in the future. With that one overcomes the original bounty or ico. But sometimes something is really good, it turns out it can be fake too.

I think that you need to study the documents and the team to determine the scams.

Promoting fake ico can real damage your public reputation on the media , most people even think you are paid to scam people , so to avoid this you need to do a personal review by the ico project . The founders and team profile on LinkedIn if they have any experience . You will need deep research on the project, first never be decieve with soft cap reached or hardcap reached, it can be manipulated to attract investors.

There is no 100% secured means for detecting a fake project. The best you can do is to study intensively about the project. Read about the white paper and check for typos as you read. Most scam or fake project are prepared in a haste, hence full of typos and incoherent information. Read about the team members. Take time to visit their social media profiles - is it a new account or an old social media account? Are they truly presenting the actual credentials on the website and whitepaper? These are some of the questions that can guide you in identifying right and fake projects.

Yes that is very important problem these days in crypto space. WE need to detect scam projects and people need to aware of that. You need to do your research carefully . You need to look their team and project. Some scam projects can have amazing whitepapers because they are paying money for that but i think you need to focus on team. You can learn from there about that scam issue.

the best way is: to check the team, each member (google search photos) and contacts. 90% of fake icos cannot do it correctly.
they put fake people photos, give other companies contacts etc.

You can use bounty sites like bountysuite or bountyhive to be sure about projects.
Don't waste your time on each of them.

Had to develop the ICO is dedicated to determine Scam projects and rejection.  But no one will dare to take this step((( Why not create the groups themselves in this forum which will indicate the alleged Scam projects, so no one fell for their development

You need to do a study of a project first before joining into its bounty. Always check the whitepaper first and the people supporting this project. If you have in doubt dob't join because it.might be a scam.

Unfortunately there are presently no tools out there to help you detect them. Except you decide to use your personal tool. That which you can do on your own, which is research.
Most times except on rare occasion, scam ICOs make use of fake team, so as to avoid bring detected and apprehended. So if you can work on that, you might get a glimpse to it, as to whether the project is scam or not.

To avoid this happening you should join the bounty of the famous BM. You need the check profile skills of the project's DEV team. Take a closer look at their website and read the whitepaper

Lol, you need a tool to know the ICO fake? What a ridiculous thing. The only way to find the ICO fake and scam is based on social news and experience as well as the bitcointalk forum. If the ICO is scam then people will create topic to alert investors.

This is the biggest issue today. There are so many fake ICO's circulating and there is no detection. I wish that ICO will be regulated and detec this scammers. For now we must be cautious with the project teams and there timely updating.
