I'll add updates as new posts, see the last page.

Background
I've seen several requests to list all demoted Jr. Members who received at least 1 Merit to rank up again.
I know mocacinno created a python script last week, but I'm not a python guy, and I haven't seen any results yet. I also know DdmrDdmr created Analysis - Ranked up Newbies in the new Era yesterday.

And then I saw Piggy's post:

Details and limitations
The Merit transaction data is from last Friday.
The total Merit amount and Rank are freshly scraped.
Data on banned accounts: I've scraped BPIP (credits to Vod), but unless I made a mistake, none of the accounts has been banned (yet).
The forum only allows 64 kB per post, I have 1 MB of data, which filled 20 posts! I'll only show a sample here, and post a link to the full version in 1 big HTML page.
I'll update this next Friday. Later updates will depend on how useful this is to catch abusers.
Although most users on this list are Jr. Members, it also includes higher and lower ranks who received their first Merit in the same time frame.

Sort order: The oldest receiving accounts are shown first.

All accounts on this list have received their first Merit after theymos posted the Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements. Being on this list doesn't necessarily mean the account is abusing Merit.

Thanks for your hard work. I do not see mysekf on the list though, so i am not sure if it is complete? I started receiving merit last week (demoted from jr. Member, bought copper, received merit and promoted back to jr. Member and git sime more merit to end up as Member, so i think i should be showing up as well?

You received your first Merit after theymos' merit data dump. You should be included next Friday.

Your list looks a lot more compact, I include the thread titles. It turned out to be quite easy to do, all I do is just copy the relevant lines from my big HTML file, and add freshly scraped data.

The beauty of having all data on the same page is that you can use CTRL-F to search.

I predicted this would happen. 1 merit point is too low to fight something like this, I have proposed to use up to 5 points for this.

Another thing which is largely omitted is verifying the bounty campaign managers aka "white listing" or "black listing" them to be able to fight spam more efficiently.

Are you talking about the HTML? If yes, then you can do that by simply removing underlines of all anchor elements (links) in CSS by using " * a { text-decoration: none; } " and then putting all the usernames in span tags and then assigning underline to them by using " span { text-decoration: underline; } ".

Yeah, I am also one of them. Normally I didn't post long posts before due to 5 reasons

1 It takes time to prepare good posts
2 I am not very good at English writing
3 I didn't care about my rank it was Jr. member and It was enough for me.
4 I believed senior users only exchange merits among them (I know that is wrong now)
5 I could still get knowledge from the forum without posting

So I didn't post much

But suddenly I was demoted to a newbie. It is really a shame. demoting from something, not only for this forum, It is for whole life. I don't like it. (I think everyone in the world ) So I just Started to create some post with my knowledge. It is pleasure to state here Now I have 4 earned Merits and I am back to jr.member. And I feel more confident with merit system and Now I know If someone really want to rank up it is not a big deal here.

I actually merited @dasunlanka earlier on today. I saw he create a good post on the topic of scams on Telegram, which was by my criteria certainly meritable. I did go through his posting history before awarding the sMerit, and he seemed to have started to post with more effort around a week before the change of rules.

He mentions on his post here one of the key elements which is behind a lot of low level posts: the time it takes to prepare a decent post. That is something I insist on in my local board.

I've considered that too, it would be a very easy fix to demote many of the Merit abusers again.

I don't know how other people feel it but it is very exciting when I see merit on my post, Frist time I didn't believe it but it is happening. some people can get their first merit and back to bounties but not all the people. and I think most of the people (newbie) don't have confidence (as I thought before)about the merit system and where to post good content. That is the main problem not to create new valuable posts.

Excuse me? What particular posts are you referring to "good posts"? I gave up visiting other pages after looking at your twitbook bounty spam in 1st to 3rd page. That's really a massive amount of spam posts in your posts history. Members like you shouldn't receive any Merits as long as you don't deserve it. If you think that you can get Merit by doing such things then you're wrong.

Yeah, I agree 1 merit is too low a barrier--but it's at least something, and I'm grateful to Theymos for making the change.

I think there were some shady members with merits they'd been hoarding and who gave them away to their de-ranked alt accounts or sold them to de-ranked members. That can't continue indefinitely, so while some noobs got lucky, there are hundreds or thousands of new members registering here daily, and they're going to have a much harder time (unless they're genuinely good posters).

If this 1-merit barrier doesn't work out, Theymos will probably make another change--but it'll take some time before we see the results of the most recent change. I'm optimistic it'll work out for the best.
