Anybody still mining HVC with CPU?
I have tried to get the GPU miner from a few pages ago to run with an Nvidia 570 card, but it just sits there, and does nothing. AMD GCN cards only, that means R9 or better.

If you don't pay electric... maybe. Still wear and tear on the cpu. Otherwise, no, I wouldn't think so.

No - the difficulty has skyrocketed to keep up with the GPUs, so it would be decidedly un-profitable to continue mining with CPU at this time. If you are interested in continuing to mine on CPU, check the Riecoin thread. Some highly optimized CPU miners are being released for that coin as we speak.

That depends - what would you use your CPU for if you didn't use it for Heavycoin?

Huh, weird. Granted, I didn't check if it was actually mining properly - I only ran the default bat off of crypto mining blog to check if the binary actually did anything - but it certainly compiled the kernel, hashed (at well above CPU rate), submitted and reported accepted shares for an nVidia at my work laptop (GT750M). Anything I can check to make sure it's not just spinning a tale?

WTBL? Profit is lame? You must hate money. Fair enough, money's not for everyone.

I've stopped mining with cpu now. The difficulty is too high. Used to be able to get 0.1 every few minutes, now it's only 0.01. Too bad that the gpu miner have entered, i thought this coin can be cpu only.

It's running now on my Nvidia GTX 570 card. Looks stable, and not completely killing the monitors. It's reporting 3.7 Mhz.

Finally, here comes the day.
I knew that! I knew that!
I foresaw the result before the launch: The dev will have fun with the BTC. The investors will cry with the dumping HVC.
The dev called it CPU-only coins. Well, it WAS! At least it was for 10days.

There's no such thing, really. Even if you end up using features that are only present on CPUs (which would have to be recent CPUs, so you're already excluding a lot of people that way), odds are you could get the same results on a GPU by combining calls and, through sheer processing power, probably still get them faster than on the CPU. There's the ones that use absurd amounts of memory, but as it is, my main machine has more GPU memory (8GB) than main (4GB).. and not everybody has the option of shelling out for a 32GB machine ( And to echo my earlier comment - even if you do make a CPU-only coin, it just shifts the problem from CPU-vs-GPU to 1-CPU-vs-100-CPUs )

works on my 7950 too. I will try with my 7950. Let's see how many HVC I can mine with them.

I dont think the miner works with cuda cards. It definitely works - and well - with Fermi, Kepler and Maxwell cores. Don't know about anything older, though.

the coin is doing better now, the buying depth on https://cryptrader.com/ vs the selling depth is unreal.
