SwC currently has heaps of satties running for BPC event tickets, mostly open ones where you can choose which event to play. Get in there and win a ticket to the Mammoth for just 10 chips, or a 250 chip event for only 25 chips!

I just won one, so anyone can do it!  Grin

How it went for you? I've missed that. There's another one, a 7-card stud that's about to happen in 30 minutes by the time I've posted this. What I've noticed is many players are joining at the last minute of the tournament and not the actual registration but the late registration. I don't understand why many does that or if there's an advantage towards it. Because when I did that, other players in the table have got a lot of chips already while me, I've got the starting one and they have the advantage to bluff me with all in because they have more chips.

There's probably no specific benefit in joining a tournament late, rather there is the disadvantage that you mentioned where other players on the table will have a higher amount of chips than you if you join late, and then you will need to play more carefully so that you can at least reach their level or at least keep yourself safe from their bluffs. When you have a low amount of chips, or at least lower than others, and others try to bluff you with all-in, don't call their bluff unless you know that you have a very strong hand and will probably win the hand.

When I'm playing, especially if it's a tournament where I have paid for joining, I always only go all-in or call it when someone else have went all-in when I know that I have a hand that can challenge theirs, never challenge anyone if you only have two pairs or something like that, because they will beat you easily, only go for it if you have a full house, three of a kind, etc. If it's a freeroll, you can experiment, of course.
I have observed that. Because I thought that I'd be ending with a good place because of few participation but upon checking the time for late registration, there's a few minutes left and then a sudden influx of late joiners have come. That's why it got me curious if there is some benefits out of it or these people are just the usual ones that have noticed the tournament and decided to join late. And also do all-in if someone challenges me to do that, in my experience, I've got mostly lucky with those calls but of course, there were many sad moments too.

There's probably no specific benefit in joining a tournament late, rather there is the disadvantage (...)

The only benefits of registering late are less time investment and avoiding the initial chaos of the early phase, which can occur especially in freerolls or low buy-in tournaments.
But I think there are more disadvantages. If you believe in your skills and are aiming for the win, you have less time to play meaning less time to capitalise on your skill advantage. Your starting stack would be smaller than what the best of competing players have. There's also an opportunity cost - starting early means you would be dealt with more hands, and some of them could potentially be a really strong ones, which you could take advantage of.

To be honest I always like to register late and always do. But many opinions can be expressed, late registration can face many advantages. For example: other players will have more chips. I never remember it, because the railway station was late. Many people seem to lose patience in the first 30 minutes and they start knocking out very quickly. Since most tournaments start with 2000 chips, it is possible to get nervous at the beginning. And it is possible to move to a better stage very quickly. Moreover, most players prefer to register late, because there is not much excitement in the Starting.

I've noticed that too, and not only in freerolls but in tournaments where you have to pay buy-in with chips, especially during BSOP, when we used to play a lot of satellite tournaments, I used to notice that so many players join late, the moment you feel that now it's about to end and there are only a few players left, and then you see that the number of players keep increasing because of late registrations, but it's not because they want some advantage, it's just that they notice the tournament late, and see that they can still join, so they do it, without thinking about other players who will have a very high stacks already.

You're right, there more disadvantages than advantages of joining a tournament late. If it's not a freeroll, I would rather not join it if I know I'm late, and what I always do is I see the list of players where you can see how many chips each player has got, and then you can compare that with the initial amount you are going to get, and then have an estimate if you think you can compete with them or not.

If you are seeking to maximise hourly income, then late regging is optimal. There are also huge ICM advantages in late regging. If a large proportion of the field has been eliminated, that means fewer players to beat to get to the money.
Yes, you have fewer chips than many of those that are left, but the ICM model says that the more chips you have, the less valuable they are proportionally. Many people deliberately late reg then take spot where they are flipping to try to double up quickly and get on a even basis with the field. It's certainly not usually a huge disadvantage.

I'm not sure if that's it but it could be for some but what I think is that there's not that much advantage on it for the late comers.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. And aside from joining late, the re-buyin is what also keeps them coming back. I find it competitive when I've been knocking out some players and in the end because they have bought back, I am the one that gets knocked out and eliminated. Only for those tournaments that allows it.

2025 Bitcoin Poker Championship Schedule:
It looks pretty good. After a long time again we got to see a new tournament series. Which gave us the opportunity to earn. But the schedule looks like it will be running for a very short time, only 10 days. Anyway, it's time to have some fun.

But I think if the luck is very good and most of the time there is a good hand, then there will be no problem. Moreover, I think, late registration can be a lot ahead. Because as a result of previous registration, and those who can survive. Their chips go down a lot. Because everyone can play well.

I play on SWCpoker all the time. In fact, I'm playing on the site right now! It's a good, well-functioning poker site, and I'm surprised there are only around 200 people on it every time I visit. Maybe I’m just visiting at the wrong time? What’s the busiest hour there, if I may ask?

Ten days for a championship series is great enough, it gives you over a week to participate in any of the ones you want. We can see that SWC is doing a wonderful job brining crypto into poker, how many other websites can say they have done that? This website hang in there even when there were no customers, even when there were no players, they kept on marketing and kept on trying to get more people and right now they are the biggest poker website in all of crypto world.

That doesn't come cheap, and it is not something you can do unless you know what you are doing and have some money. So this 10 days is the same, they are giving something great, and if you want to participate, you have more than a week to be in there.

2025 Bitcoin Poker Championship Schedule:
Awesome! So after BSOP, we have BPC, and it's surely going to be a lot of fun. However, there is one difference between the two; in BSOP, we had more tournaments and more satellites with lower buy-in amounts, like 25 and 50 chips, etc. In this one, the minimum buy-in amount is 100, which isn't bad, but in general, BSOP was more affordable for smaller players.

Anyway, good luck with the tournament series, SwC, and I hope it becomes a great success. Smiley

For me, whenever I visit, I usually see above 200 players active, but I'm not sure about the peak hour when you can find more players, but I do remember seeing more than 400 or 500 players sometimes, just can't remember the hour.

I'm not sure if that's it but it could be for some but what I think is that there's not that much advantage on it for the late comers.
From your point of view it may be something like this but there are some disadvantages as well as advantages.  That's right, those who started participating in the tournament at the beginning. And in the beginning, everyone has the same amount of chips, but due to late registration, there is a gap in everyone's chips. Because as a result of previous registration, and those who can survive. Their chips go down a lot. Because everyone can play well.
I have experienced being lucky as well, challenging someone with a huge pool of chips and being a late registrant, I've got lesser. It works sometimes but I can only see the advantage that the early joiners have compared to the late joiners. Anyway, good luck to everyone who's going to participate the BPC, the schedules are already there and I hope one from the forum will win one of those tournaments.

Thank you! It's always a pleasure to be congratulated on your achievement.

Maybe it's just the wrong time, because whenever I join tournaments, the free ones. Sometimes the participants are 80 to 120+, so it really differs with our local times, I have no idea when it peaks.

I'm having this problem: the SwC site freezes at 98% when I load, even after trying repeatedly. How can I fix this?
I also frequently experience connection loss when playing on Android. What's worse, when I'm using Android, the cards have been dealt, and when it's my turn, the connection suddenly drops, sometimes causing me to lose some of my chips.

I also frequently experience connection loss when playing on Android. What's worse, when I'm using Android, the cards have been dealt, and when it's my turn, the connection suddenly drops, sometimes causing me to lose some of my chips.

If you're using a VPN, try logging in with a different server. However, I've personally experienced this. Usually, I just exit the app (close it) and then re-enter the SWC app on Android, and everything works fine again. Occasionally, we have to clear the app cache on our phone.

But so far, when I use the PC directly on the web, everything always runs smoothly, unless there's a connection issue with my personal internet connection.

The connection drops usually happen when our internet is unstable, but I don't know about other people's experiences. So far, mine has always worked smoothly.

Yeah this happens sometimes when using the browser version, had this myself. Mostly it works after a couple of times but it is annoying for sure. That's why I always advise people to simply use the download desktop app instead of the browser. Problem with the browser version is also (at least for me) that it's really slow when you for example want to change some settings like table design and so on, and then click "safe" and try to go back to your table. Sometimes this takes literally forever. They really should work on that.

I agree with ahoy, just download the app and all of that freezing problem will be gone if you're using an android version. I've been using the browser version but I have never had any problems at all because that's designed for that. But with the phone users, you use the app version.

Mine works fine with the browser version but I think most of the problems that exists there are related to internet connection.

2025 Bitcoin Poker Championship Schedule:

I'll note a few since they seem to fit into my schedule. However, I'll avoid unlimited re-entries or rebuys...because that means we can re-enter after losing without limit, right? That would definitely take longer than a regular tournament.

I rarely play tournaments, so I don't really know the rules. Cool
