In 2018, it might be a tough year for bitcoin. So many negative issues that caused the price of bitcoin to fall very sharply. But I am sure, bitcoin will not end. Personally, I assume, these are all part of the process of getting the best value for bitcoin

I do not want to think bad into bitcoin but for whats happening right now i think it is not that good time to invest because the continuous decreasing of value many big investors and continue to pull out their investment and it may affect on the value of bitcoin. But im still hoping that sooner the value will recover again

I don't care about the short-term price drops. I'm in it for the long haul. I simply won't quit bitcoin even if the price drops back down to 50 cents.

That being said, I'm in it for the potential of bitcoin to free us from having to trust banks and fiat currency. The dollar is something they can print and money is just a tool.

I don't think the bitcoin project would be any more successful if the price was at a million dollars. Real success would be freedom from the banks and inflation. I would see bitcoin as successful if you can use it to buy seeds and sell fruits, to buy food ingredients and sell food, to eat at a restaurant, to hire someone to help you with a project, to be paid for labor, to save some money in an inflation free currency.

We can definitely get there. By the way, I know it's been mentioned a lot before in the thread but the price is still really high. Just a few years ago it was below a thousand.

I wonder what the conversation would be like if the price had really crashed (like at $200 or so).

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

I am not sure what you are talking about? Guys just be calm at this tough moment. Everyone knows the drop has disappointed the entire market and we need to believe that it will recover in a real quick time. by whales are testing our patience like how capable we are in danger zone, Crypto is the only option which can change our life's over a night.

That's right, this year's market conditions are indeed very bad. Even so, we as a bitcoin community always hope. That this condition will end soon

the decline is indeed the price of bitcoin is indeed so fast, however, I think that is not the end, because basically bitcoin is still used for several purposes, and current developments. well, maybe this is a reasonable decline, and I think the price of bitcoin will rise in 2019.

the game isn't over until it is over. For bitcoin the game cannot be over, bitcoin is here to stay and nothing can stop bitcoin, so i will urge you to keep your mind at rest and hodl on to your investment, i can assure you that you won't loose a dollar when you hodl.

The game is not over yet and it will continue, at the moment all crypto prices are experiencing a great drop so many panics and immediately dispose of their losses, but be patient with the endless game. I still believe that bitcoins have not been replacing them even though some coins scam them.

It is game over for anyone who is looking at short term gains trying to be a millionaire in a few weeks. Good for long term investors who can buy now at low prices

this year the market and investors are really very sensitive to many things when prices collapse due to several things. then panic selling occurred immediately. but you're right, this is not the end of bitcoin. the way of bitcoin is still long. the development of bitcoin will definitely improvemand the price will recover. calm down it will make the condition better

Why game over? Btc price in 2016 was just $500-600

Yup, basically we should not be panic or getting confused all of a sudden because of a sudden drop of bitcoin price, also we must have a patience we see some great prices over the past few years. Instead of saying that bitcoin is over, take time and enjoy the vibe though, we can't rush those things , only the future knows , maybe at the rate now is that bitcoin is having a rest or being a lowkey. In spite of many hoax, theory, issues across social media about bitcoin still best hope and i know bitcoin will surprise the world again.

I don't think that the game is over for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has come so far and there's more to come. Volatility is a normal trend in the world of cryptocurrency and we must learn to accept that reality. There may be controversies but I believe that it cannot in any way ruin its total excellency. Bitcoin would not have lasted longer if it did not deliver and perform well. Minor correction is part of success and growth, let's all stay hopeful and patience.

Prices have been on a constant decline ever since this year began. There's been FUD all over the place, and governments have been cracking down on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. In addition, there have been several hacks which have also contributed to the decline in the value of the whole cryptocurrency market. As such, many people have lost their faith in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, as they've lost a lot of money.

Despite this, it seems that most holders would not give up on Bitcoin no matter what. But, if Bitcoin keeps declining in value until it becomes worthless, then long-time holders (like me) would become disillusioned. For those who want to protect their investment, there's the option to sell Bitcoin into USD or exchange it towards a stablecoin like Tether. However, even Tether has lost its peg (although in some occasions it heads back to $1) sometime this year, which means that not even stablecoins can be trusted.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Will it be Game Over for Bitcoin? Or will everything go back to normal soon? Huh
Honestly, if I told you that I ain't skeptical right now about the whole cryptocurrency stuff I would be lying to myself. What! The market has been eo decimated to the point of rock bottom. A general market cap of over $800billion in Dec 2017 is now around $160billion. This is frightening for real. From $19k+ to $4,400+ is not a small crash. This is beyond a correction. Something else is happening to Bitcoin.

It's quite in the correction range. Such undervaluation is just okay. If we take %, we can see that it's similar to the previous bear markets.

I also felt that after this severe crash and too much to see a lot of FUD articles, then little by little my confidence was lost about the future of bitcoin, but after I continued to pay attention to market price movements, it seemed the cryptocurrecny market was full of manipulation. We can see this time the price of bitcoin is improving as there is enlightenment there which will make many bitcoin holders find their confidence again. I just hope the market will recover in the near future if we believe in a lot of analysis that said earlier if the crypto market will recover at the end of the year or at the beginning of the year.

No, its not Game over for Bitcoin. Simply because the underlying technology is so strong. The current shakeout is necessary. It will rid the market of the weak hands and leave only true crypto believers -- as opposed to traders -- left to prosper from the continued overall growth in the crypto world.

2 major reasons for shakeout we have seen especially in last 1 week.

1) Hard Fork of Bitcoin Cash. For the average investor, this basically just means more volatility. This has had a cascading effect on all other cryptos
2) Last week, the SEC fined two companies $250,000 each for failing to follow the proper laws for registering securities. Securities and Exchange Commission is starting to crack down on ICOs that don't pass regulatory muster.

Some crypto hedge funds may be forced to shut down due to the dramatic drop in prices.

Remember, bear markets get rid of the tourists so that the true entrepreneurs can focus on building sustainable value.

we can only say game over when it comes to the point that the value of bitcoin will totally drop to zero and wont recover anymore for a longer time  but as now i can still sense that there is still a life for btc and the bloom  is just waiting for the right time to come out .

This is also the reason on why most of us are still continue to hodl their btc's despite the fact that they did already loose some major percentage from the start of their capital during the times that they bought btc in a stable price .

It is far from over because its value is still high if you compare it to last 2016 or 2015. I started using bitcoin in 2015 where its price is at $330 range and it suffered more price drops in the following years. There are many reasons on bitcoin's recent sharp drop on its prices but I think the price manipulators has also a role in that sudden downtrend.

2018 was probably the worst year for cryptocurrencies. Many different difficulties and problems that affected the potential of cryptocurrencies and their prices. But despite all the problems, there are people who believe and wait for good news. Everything is possible nowadays.
