No idea on what's currently happening with the market but this is just a bear market hat we still have to face. Minimizing your losses through buying more? is this what you are trying to say?
This can be done by most but the question if those people who are suffering from losses can still bear the market. Are they willing to stay a bit longer or are they tired of being with it already?

Everyone of us now was suffering loses we invest or we buy bitcoin when the value was high but now it continues  falling so it means still hold our coins. Holding is not the bad idea but you are thinking that selling your coins in the lower price so that is not the good idea. The best thing to do was invest buy more bitcoin when the value is low and hold for the long term and surely the value will rise and you will earn.

About three days ago I did a survey here,

90% of commenter's agreed that bitcoin is heading to $1k, and will test that floor before heading to $400, now here is where the cognitive dissonance becomes unreal, they all TELL OTHER TO HODL

You can be sure if one our day-traders here is sure BTC is going to $1k, why not sell now at $4k, and then pick up 4X btc in jan/feb post collapse ( I'm assuming the next collapse will come post xmas/new-year, just like this year )

Enlighten you with the TRUTH?

Everybody here knows BTC is going down and hard, but everybody here tells the OTHER GUY TO HODL, which is sociopathic, which means that the majority here want to see other people get hurt.

...

This is a common psychological problem with stocks, people buy with no firm loss in mind on the way down, and worse is the 'noise' of millions of assholes saying "HODL"

The problem is 'drawdown' if you already lost 1/2 your stake, then why not stop the loss, its going down, then you could buy more if your stupid enough to think its going back up,

Problem here I have asked now two weeks and never get an answer "Where in the FUCK is the new sucker money going to come from to reinflate the crypto bubble?" $800 BILLION USD has 'evaporated', almost a Trillion Dollars would have to COME-BACK to bring BTC back

They can't answer the question, because there is no new money coming to BITCOIN.

Lastly, most likely all these are BOTS posting "HODL", just like this OP "SATGE", it seems that the morons love to mis-spell, as a sign of intelligence. Most likely here we have BOTS feeding BOTS, but the subliminal is all the same "HODL" ( whatever the fuck that means, ... ) I guess in court when exchanges are sued they can argue that HODL, didn't really mean buy&hold.

Bitcoins at this stage which is so bearish is not bad for people to hold but can be use to trade or is time to accumulate more at a cheap price so that you can resell it for much profit when the price goes up.

Its a Friday and usually trading is weak when its close to weekends. Price will start to climb again when the week starts like on Monday or Tuesday. At price of $3,500 I would buy more so when trading starts next week you'll see that price will start to go up again, but don't expect too much, we are still in the bear market. Patience is the key in trading Bitcoins ad Alts.

Well I've already sold half my bitcoin and bitcoin cash at a huge profit.  There is no reason not to hodl the other half come what may - it could go to zero or a million dollars.  Much more chance for the million and if zero I still have lost nothing.

it's your decision to take, from my point of view, selling low means loss, but sometimes a little patience can turn the game.

Don't worry so much of this bitcoin condition, actually for your information before we came in in crypto world bitcoin plays the same role. So the dumping and pumping is normal bitcoin activity whatever your situation. Everybody watching of bitcoin recovery so don't lose your hope because possible that it could give you a good fate.

I am no expert in trading but to answer your question where that trillion dollar is going to come, the answer is exactly same place where that 800 Billion dollars came last year :-).

Do you not agree that adoption, real life usage, acceptance and awareness is much more higher for Crypto as what it was last year (or rather 11 months ago in Jan)? Even state of Ohio has formalize BTC (how so ever symbolize it is as of now). There are more then 100 reputed and otherwise companies including Microsoft is accepting BTC to buy product.

The one thing I am failing to understand the reason for people's sentiment which is driving bearish market? I understand that BCH fight initiated a mass shell out for a few weeks however why all every one (including old timers) are predicting such gloomy projection? What is the worry and what changed?

I am also failing to understand who are the people who are continue to keep selling it despite now it is almost a year low price (3500)? If someone bought BTC post Jan 18 and price higher then 3500, I am assuming most of those people have already sold thier BTCs out (with may be exception of few). So I am surprise if someone bought it a year ago and willing to sell it now for very little to no profit?

I think my biggest question is what is the reason for worry now?Huh?

arguably bitcoin is currently experiencing the sharpest decline, but that doesn't mean the BTDC hodl is a bad thing. bitcoin will definitely rise again to the moon, if it's not mid-month there will be a bull run, then next year.

Bleep Bleep, "Hodl Hodl" Bleep Bleep. Bot signing off.  Grin

A lot of the people that are complaining now, were not complaining when they made 800% profits in 2017 or when they were too greedy to sell, when the price was at a all time high.

You can only join the butthurt crowd, if you panic too quickly and sell at a loss.  Roll Eyes

A large group of long-term Bitcoiners went through several dumps like this before and we came out of that with massive profits in 2017. If you invested, "only what you can afford to lose" and you have the balls to ride out the dumps, then your reward will be so much bigger, when the price recover.  Wink

You know what, there is an alternative way to overcome this problem. For example, buying coins. You already stated that day by day crypto's price is dropping and you know, when the price is low, it is the best time to buy a coin. It ain't a bad idea if you hold now. You know that the price is dropping, it might be disappointing but it affects nothing if you just hold. Maybe if you sell, you'll suffer. It is a matter of patience.

it depends on why you bought bitcoin in first place.
if you bought it because it is a decentralized currency or if you bought it because you wanted a long term investment in this scarce currency with a bright future and a lot of potential then selling is the dumbest idea ever since you are not a day trader!

but if you are a day trader and have bitcoin as a tool to make money then it is true, it is a bad idea to hold bitcoin. you must have sold it yesterday and then started buying it back today by placing multiple buy orders at different price levels to make profit.

anything else apart from the above two does not work.

It is entirely your call. For sure, you are reading opposing views on this. Even experts and long-time BTC supporters have different takes on this. I, however, would prefer to HODL because I am already losing. I just would not accept a losing end. At the end of the day, I am 100% percent sure that this downtrend streak is temporary. I am counting on the early weeks of 2019 for the recovery.

No holding at this stage is not a bad idea, in fact, this is the only option left otherwise you will regret it once bitcoin starts its bull run.

I saw still many people are making skeptical statements. If you really believe in Bitcoin then its no matter whats happening to its price.
I personally believe in blockchain technology. Which is really revolutionary and have potential to change worlds business and economic parameter.

But according to current market rate of BTC selling is very bad idea but at the same time Holding is also not good idea.
