How do I check if I can lend anything?
I don't see any message that says that I can lend an amount on the website.
Or do I have to transfer some Bitcoins first?

No, you know better than that.  They are safe at instawallet. Ok, the real answer.  I keep two wallets, one storage wallet and an operation wallet.  The storage wallet is zipped, password protected and stored on a TruCrypt volume that is backed up by my mirrored drives, Dropbox and Carbonite.  The operation wallet is open when I'm at the machine but when I'm away its stored on the encrypted volume.  That's about it. Can't go into many details but I can assure you that a dead man's switch is in place. Smiley  No worries.

I often think about my wife killing me for the insurance money. Smiley

Spikes kill my storage numbers but with the higher price less coins are needed so its not as crazy as it could be.

Would it be wrong to rent out early investor space?

i guess some people can't resist selling their coins for $6 each Cheesy

those people realize it is more profitable to sell their BTC than to let it sit and earn 1% a day.

Unless the people that let it sit think the price is going to go higher than $6, in which case, it is stupid to sell at $6. Smiley

is this thread driving up bitcoin prices?
i look at MtGox volume, and on any given day, the volume in the tens of thousands.
At such volume, this thread should have very small effect on the price of BTC.
What do you guys think? Is there someone else gobbling up all the supplies?
