In all seriousness goodluck OP.

If I were you I would be happy to sell a decent portion at the first sign of a new plateau.

so now that you are homeless, i have a couch you can crash on, 1btc/night
Not a bad idea.
1. Sell your house.
2. Couchsurf around the world.
3. Wait for Bitcoin to spike.
4. Buy a bigger house.

If Bitcoin ever hits 50k per coin, which it probably will, then 648 bitcoins would be worth...

648x50k = 32.4 million

Not too shabby...

1k, 50k, not much of a jump.

Same as 24 to 1200, somewhat.

You know every day I wake up I have no less bitcoin than when I went to sleep.

I'm not sure that constitutes 'evaporation'.

This Bitcoin Nutter determination to force think Bitcoins into representing 'money' or something of value will continue to 'sort of work', until one day it just doesn't.

You are a dreamer sgbett and if you insist on placing ideology before reality, the world will kick your arse.

Bitfinex victims. DO NOT TOUCH THE BFX TOKEN! Start moving it around, or trading it, and you will be construed as having accepted it as an alternative means of payment to your USD, BTC, etc.

bitcoin will have a great network effect which will support the exponential rise and average trend through these past 5 years

so i would say that, 24 to 1200 is the same as 1k to 50k, is not too far off

I predict that you will still be bitching about manipulation at 20k. Will be bumping this when it happens.

I have no Bitcoin positions.

I couldn't give a rats arse if some whale wants to plunge 3 million USD in and out of market right now. Infact, I feel a great relief that I am not playing at the moment as I witness these erratic and unforsesable spikes up n down.

What is forseeable is the creeping price slide back to test the previous low. Enjoy watching your net worth evaporate further, suckers.

You know every day I wake up I have no less bitcoin than when I went to sleep.

I'm not sure that constitutes 'evaporation'.

Please don't feed the troll.

I used to brag about not having anyone on ignore but this insufferable nitwit stopped being a source of humor long ago. I finally broke down and have just this one airhead on ignore.

Others of his ilk, like Fonzie, Revans and Bitcoinlitcoinbtcltc can be a laugh but they don't seem to take themselves as seriously as this dingbat does.

By quoting him you're subjecting anyone who has ignored him to his asinine comments.

Good luck OP, I'm behind you all the way! I remember reading your story when it was out a while back.

Just a couple of tips after reading through a couple of pages of replies here:
  • Forget the haters, they're just upset they don't have more money to invest or didn't get in sooner... most people were telling me to invest in gold and silver a year ago, but I bought bitcoin at $40 instead, so I've learned not to listen to anyone unless they clearly show that they know what they are talking about.
  • Don't listen to day traders and people in it for a month or so at a stretch, they're the ones getting burned on a daily basis because they don't have the balls to hodl or are just trying to make a quick buck off some poor loser because they thought they'd make millions overnight.... these are the guys saying "what if you woke up and it's worth nothing, how would that feel"... well just think about the opposite.
  • Don't take advice from anyone unless you know their btc position because there are a lot of people with 0.001btc around here who think they know it all.
  • It's never too late to get into bitcoin, if you're willing to hodl for at least a year. Everyone forgets how long the early adopters waited for the price to increase and I'm sure you've heard the story about the bitcoin pizza.

Decentralize EVERYTHING!

Not exactly.

Some major cities in Canada have a ridiculous housing market.  (Vancouver, Toronto)  You can buy a nice house in the burbs for a decent price in and around Vancouver though. Those 2 markets alone skew the stats a great deal. We've been hearing about a housing bubble around here for years, it hasn't happened, likely never will.

But there is a fun game people can play regarding the housing market in Vancouver:

I used to brag about not having anyone on ignore but this insufferable nitwit stopped being a source of humor long ago.

Please could someone quote this post so JimboToronto gets to read some of the cracking calls that he has made on this forum. This is actually one I prepared earlier and I am sure that the fkn halfwit has embarrassed himself numerous times since then, just as there was an embarrassment of riches for me to choose from the first time around.....these quotes all came from just one page of his post history...............yet I am the nitwit...(or something)....jeezus christ!

This is The Great Crash!

I WAS RIGHT!!!

Yep, crashed right back up to 1230+  LOL

Oh noes.

We almost lost 3 days worth of gains.

The sky is falling.

Enjoy your picnic little teddy bears.

LOL

Last chance to buy under $1000.

Don't miss out.

edit- too late

How long before the next feeble attempt to push the Gox price under $700?

Lots of money has been wasted by somebody trying to do that without success via market sells when they could have just placed asks and waited for them to be filled.

Why's everybody so surprised?

We've had lots more market dumps of a similar size in the last few days.

It was just a matter of time.

This whole crash was bogus.

Perhaps I should have said bear trap.

Don't be ridiculous.

Selling now would be foolish.

LOLOLOL

Missed your chance to buy cheap? Too bad kid . Some day you'll learn.

LOLOLOL

Of course the flip side to that is that the move down to 576 was a bear trap which has finally been sprung.

956 wall eaten. Nomnom.

Face it Jimbo. U are one of the biggest idiots not just on this forum, but walking the face of the planet in general.

I use Bitcoin as a tool to increase my freedom. I am not immune to the value fluctuations, but I've accepted them long ago. I'm betting on one thing, that there will continue to be people in the world who value Bitcoin as a useful tool until something better comes along (assuming Bitcoin can't simply adopt the improvements should that occur).

Well said.  Bitcoin increases users' freedom and the cost is responsibility.  But freedom isn't possible any other way.

How much of the world's population is using bitcoin now?  Maybe 0.01% (1 million users)?  How much of the world's population would value a means of exchanging money with anyone else in the world, without the assistance of a third party or the permission of an authority?  I would expect more than 0.01%.
