I sometimes think teams get over confident and rest their good players thinking that the opposition don't have a chance to win with their recent form. This time it turned out to be a bad decision by the Indian selectors as SA played well to restrict India to a moderate total and were able to chase down the runs easily with only losing 1 wicket. T20 cricket is too hard to predict as any team can win even if they have been in poor form and that is why I never bet on T20 matches.

The excuse given by them was that they wanted to experiment as many players as possible before the T20 world cup. But it sounds ridiculous for me. If they want to experiment, then they have these A team tours. International T20 matches are not meant for experimenting. Anyway, yesterday India lost because of poor batting and not as a result of poor bowling.

And they had superstars such as Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma in the squad (and apart from Dhawan, all of them failed). And I wouldn't make the mistake of calling Pant and Iyer as inexperienced. The batting lineup was not very inexperienced and it was the bowling that lacked experience. Playing a match at home against weak opponents, and still they can't build a total in excess of 150.

They had 1-0 lead over them and I think their statement was understandable. You can test out players in A team but you won't be facing opponents like players from the main team. So I think there is a big difference.

Continuously making the same players over and over again may make them susceptible to injuries. Plus it's good to hand over chances to young players to build a good team in future.

IMO batsman should have done a better job giving a challenging target.

This is where I'm. Behind at least 400 people. Problem is I will get 2 tickets at max. I could have some more from black market, but I don't like that to be honest. I don't get why the hell they don't available this series's ticket in Bank. I would get 5/6 if it would.

I see many posters here seems to surprised about why Indian not going with their first-class bowlers. It's not overconfidence, but it's another way around, and they lost last game because of batsmen, not bowlers.

• Don't forget India lags in ICC ranking in T-20 format and Indian team want to change their mindset when it comes to the shorter format. What that means is they are targeting more all-rounders now and make their batting line up deep as much as possible. That comes with a cost of Quality Spin duo Kuldeep- Chahal. It might be the wrong or right approach in a longer run, only time will tell. But IMHO that's the wrong approach because I think at least one wrist spinners should always be in the Playing XI if they can't fit both of them.

• No Front line Seamer in T-20 series (Bumrah). I am in Favor of this mindset when Test Match included in any bilateral series. Virat and his seamers are taking Test format very seriously which is good, and I don't see this thinking changing anytime soon except high profile competition T-20 WC and when there is no test match in their schedule.

So, India lost against an average performing team like South Africa. The batting was a disaster for India. Defending 134 is not that easy and when the scoreboard does not have run pressure then everything else become very easy. That's what exactly happened with South Africa yesterday.

Series tie and India my need to learn some lessons from it. The IPL nations should be ashamed for their performance.

I agree. I find it hilarious when people talk about India being over-confident when the truth is pretty obvious which is the Indian team are simply experimenting with the younger players to find prospective gems for the future.

Bumrah deserves a break and bowlers like Sundar, Saini and Chahar(Who impressed me as expected) deserve a shot. India lost. So what? The series is a draw and both teams played well. Great to see new players getting chances in big matches.

Before this series, UCB bank provided ticket. I don't know why they don't give this advantage in this series. I had waited 6 hours in the line, 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Bad luck here that I couldn't buy. Ticket counter has been closed and will start again tomorrow. Probably I will miss this match, I will not be able to go again tomorrow.
Price is low, minimum $3 to max $80. I was trying to get grand stand, place near where BAN players will sit. Ended with no stand at the end.

It must be very hectic for you to stand in the queue for whole day and even then do not get the tickets for the final. Even to get the tickets from bank queue is not feasible. There should be online facitilty of buying the tickets with credit cards or people should be able to buy the matches tickets with bitcoins.

Maybe you wanted to jump into their dressing room and offer your batting services in case your team was struggling in the final

I couldn't believe that for an international match, there is no online ticket booking system. Already cricket is facing a lot of criticism for taking too much time from the fans. And ordinary people can't afford to spend 6 hours standing in queue, just to purchase tickets. What is the point in wasting so much time, when they can make it easy for everyone involved by creating an online system?

If you are fan of your national team, then you would want to be near them, so that you could see them close. Almost everyone, will want their national team to win every game they play.

But yeah wasting 6 hours a day just to get a ticket for the match is too bad  They should have arranged for online booking.

Disappointed with Rohit's performance especially as he had enough time to rest but performed badly. Sundar, Chahar, Saini all couldn't take a single wicket and bowled at the economy rate of 6+ with Saini bowling at 12.5 which is itself shows how bad they were. Both the teams failed in the last match. Chasing down 134 runs so easily proves it.

India does not have a good bench strength for batsman but they have world class bowlers and they are giving them ample rest to avoid any injuries during major tournaments and the intention to groom young talents but what i did not understand is that they should have kept one experienced fast bowler in the team rather than giving them rest at once. India is good at chasing because of Kohli and if they won the toss they must put the opposition to bat and then chase the score rather than trying to restrict the opposition with a weak bowling line up.

It is true that the Indian batsmen failed to put enough runs on the board and this in turn put the bowlers in to a lot of pressure. But the inexperienced bowlers also failed to live up to their mark. For many of them, it was a rare chance to impress the selectors ahead of the selection for the 2020 T20 World cup, but there wasn't any extraordinary performance from any of them.

On top of all this, Virat Kohli earned 3 demerit points after he behaved aggressively to South African bowler Beuran Hendricks. The T20 series is over now... what's left is the ODI series and the three test matches. I don't think that the selectors will think about too much experimentation, either during the ODIs or for the tests. They should be fielding the full strength side.

India as a unit is a balanced side but the problem I find is that middle order their is no fixed order and still not able to figure out the right combination as top order is sorted but majorly in middle overs when middle order bats they need to fire and ensure they keep the score at the good rate and keep wickets intact . With Dhoni absence it might take some time now to get that position filled .

Yes, 3 match ODI series between South Africa and India is scheduled in March 2020. Right now there is no ODI in this tour.

I agree. They have quite a pool of players who can play out in middle but right now team management is focusing on young players rather than experienced who are getting old. It will take time to find someone young who fits and can be a consistent in T-20 format.

If Rashid is 100% fit and playing, then again giving Afghanistan extra edge despite Shakib back in his usual business, otherwise this Trophy belongs to Bangladesh.
