You have it now. Bangladesh won the match by 7 wickets! What an innings from Mushfiqur. He single handily took Bangladesh to win the match. Finally they found a win against India.

These bookies surely made a lot of money. Lucky me that I did not gamble today.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored four boundaries in a row in the second last over and they won the match, stupid enough to wage a bet for India to win the match before seeing the team list as i thought there is no way that Bangladesh will win against India and here too everyone was talking about that and it looks like they played with everyone else's bet and those who waged a bet on Bangladesh made a fortune as the odds were over 5.

Well if India did not have Kohli, Bangladesh also did not have their best player. I think none of us was thinking that India will lose. If I would gamble them I would also go with India, this was logical even after 15 over of Bangladesh innings.

Bangladesh require another 33 runs in 16 balls and one good over can change the match, the problem is that Bangladesh have wickets in hand and i think they will try to score the runs and look for boundaries rather than waiting long and these T20 matches can be tricky if they loose wickets at this stage, let the best team who can absorb the pressure win the match.

What a game we are having it as Bangladesh who was not considered that favourites is going to win the match it seems as they just require another  4 runs in 6 balls and 7 wickets in hand . India will need to comeback strongly in last over to win it .

If it's true then I am sure India paid the price to take Bangladesh lightly. They really did not do well in batting and now in bowling as well. From a team like India to score 148 runs in 20 overs is not really expected.

Bumrah is injured and even if he is fine i doubt they will select him for this series as India avoided many players in the playing eleven, Shami is not playing and so does Jadeja, India wants to make the Bangladesh fans happy and so is the reason India wanted to test the young players and give Rohit Sharma an opportunity to lead a second string team so that Kohli's ego will not get hurt  .

India really took this Bangladesh team very lightly and I really do not blame them. The recent performance from Bangladesh is not that impressive and on top of it they do not have their key player Shakib.

If Shakib was there then I would take a risk for Bangladesh today but now thinking it was a mistake LOL

Well Indian side had quality bowlers but all of them lacked experience. None of them was able to get balls in the right areas except Yuzi Chahal. I would call that missed LBW as a turning point of that match as one wicket at that time could have crushed their backbone. Sundar's bowling was a bit on the defensive end like it's always been.

Well seriously most of the people bid on India today because they thought Bangladesh won't be able to handle the blow of Shakib Al Hasan but very surprisingly their was no deficiency you could really see. I can just imagine how much stronger this side would look with Shakib too.

By the way, in the post match interview someone from Bangladesh team said that it was dedicated to them (Shakib and Tamin) so clearly there were some inspiration was around in Bangladesh team.

I think suspension was sort of a publicity stunt by ICC to prove that they will enforce discipline at whatever cost possible. Yes I forgot that Bangladesh were without Tamim too. I think Mushfiqur took quite the responsibility of a senior. But this shows that Bangladesh have developed their young talent enough that even if these top guns retire there is a good team ready for backup.

I lost my bet which I placed on India. Unexpected result, but upsets do happen. The Indian bowlers seriously disappointed me. Rahim was the lone warrior out there with occasional support. Bangladesh played well and deserved the win though majority of the Indian superstars are absent.

The timing was cruel as he was leading the team to fight against the low wages by their cricket board but he clearly violated the ICC code of conduct andit was clearly mentioned about the consequences if they did not inform them about bookies approaching them.

ICC did the right thing here. Shakib is not a child and he knew what he was doing. However, I wish they would have handed him a 1-year ban like Smith and Warner.

Ball tampering and fixing are different issues, i consider giving Smith and Warner a years ban for ball tampering was excessive but in the future we will not see anyone doing the same mistake again and so is the reason they are giving out harsh punishment like these.

I made a parlay a week back and if i knew the team composition i would have never wagged for India to win the match, i was not expecting a complete change in the team and i was not able to cash out.

Hopefully this does not make much difference in Bangladesh squad. Shakib really is a very important player for them also in the cricket world he is very respected player.

I have seen Mushfiqur and Mahmudulla to play some really good innings in the past too. For last few years I have not seen Mushfiqur in this kind of mood. Good that he is back now.

I know a lot of people lost money in this match. Even if I was in the mood of betting then I would go for India too. I was just Lucky :-D

I saw that news some days ago and it did not seem too serious to me. I think they sorted it out.

If the team is inspired to perform better and dedicate it to their team members it is well and good, the series is interesting now with Bangladesh winning the first match.

Bumrah's Absense is now feeling by Indian bowling attack as today against Bangladesh they was very poor even some good overs in middle but at the death overs they completley fail to produce some good result and give match very easily its good fight and win by visitors but still two matches and Indian team is very good in revenge so now some very hard time coming for Bangladesh.

India missed some crucial catches in the match and they missed a review which would have being a wicket if the captain reviewed and if they could have done those then they could have put pressure back on Bangladesh but they chased the score really well and Mushfiqur Rahim was in complete control during the final two overs and played some wonderful shots and Mahmudullah took the team home with a huge six and it was the perfect start to the series.

Well, Finch ain't very happy with the umpires. He thinks that umpires should've cut down the lunchtime by 5 minutes so that Aussies could get 2 overs extra.

Nothing can happen anymore, but it seems like the rules (with a little help of rain) literally stole the victory from Aussies.

At least the umpires ended the match with a No Result. Australia missed an easy win. There are matches where the results were given without any proper explanation, the entire world expects a result while the referees end the match with a different result. Anyhow the upcoming matches will be more interesting.

You can't equate match fixing with ball tempering. IMO, the former is a much more severe crime. BTW, I have always believed that Shakib was made a scapegoat. You can check my post here:

Just noticed the post by JSRAW. So all this happened during the IPL 11, just before the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kings XI Punjab. This actually raises a few uncomfortable questions about the IPL itself. First of all, how did the bookies managed to approach players representing the Sunrisers Hyderabad? Second, if they were able to approach Shakib, what is the guarantee that they didn't approached the other players? And thirdly, what is the surety that all of the SRH players turned down their offer?

I have always regarded the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Chennai Super Kings as franchises prone to shady deals. The CSK were suspended for 2 years, and only returned to the IPL in 2018. CSK is owned by N Srinivasan, while the SRH is owned by his close friend and politician Kalanithi Maran. My guess is that rather than Shakib, it is the CSK/SRH franchises that are behind the scourge of match fixing. I would say that Shakib was made a scapegoat, so that Srinivasan and Maran could escape.

Shakib al Hassan is not a child and he knew what he had to do in such instances. But here you are assuming that he didn't reported the matter to the ICC, because he never wanted to get involved in all these complexities. What I believe is that he refrained from reporting the matter to the ICC, because high ranking members of the SRH were involved in the match fixing mafia, and he was afraid that he will be kicked out of SRH and have his career ruined in case he comes out strongly against them.
