Australia vs Ireland in T20 World Cup.  Ireland will bat in the second innings with a target of 180 runs given by Australia. Ireland's captain Bal Barney and opener Paul Stirling are quite good batsmen. The chances of Ireland winning the match depends on these two opening batsmen. Also, Ireland's middle order batsmen are in good form. If Ireland's batsmen can easily deal with Australia's pacers, Ireland will be in control of the match. Let's see what the result is in the end.

I am very interested in today's first match Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka match. I think the match will be very competitive. Sri Lanka played three matches in the World Cup. Despite winning the first match against Ireland, they suffered humiliating defeats against New Zealand and Australia in the next two matches.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, has been abandoned in two of their three matches. And in one match they lost. Basically, I think these two teams are equally strong. The fact that Ireland would beat Australia is simply unbelievable. Ireland put in a lot of effort in that sequence, but eventually they were defeated. Australia performed brilliantly. They beat Ireland by 45 runs.

I never thought that Ireland would be a challenge for Australia. Australia is a far better team and at the moment they are crushing Ireland for the NRR. I was expecting Stoinis to repeat his performance but he got out for just 35. Finch played a very sensible innigs.

Honestly, after watching the match the only thing I am willing to say is I am not so sure about the team selection being wrong. The only thing that comes to my mind, again and again, is the Gamble which was taken by Rohit Sharma by giving the ball to Ashwin.

Two sixes at the start of that over absolutely took the match away from India.

People might argue that India still had a chance but that was the biggest turning point of the match. That made South Africa take things very easy from that point. No, I am not saying that the selections were all good. Unfortunately, in the end, it came down to some wrong captaincy.

There is no doubt in subcontinent we have similarity in too many things even many wills not agreed with my view, but this is fact here if you want to play big teams then you have to be buttercup instead of talented or quality player so same happening KL Rahul is the quality player without any doubt but when you have better replacement, and he is not performing then you have to give some chance other player as well, but they are not looking in this way same happening in Pakistan team.

Where few players are not good and performance is also below average, but they are still in team and having good back just because of personal relationship and because of their nature which is never been good but happening for many decades because I am personally watching and having many examples for this all.

The big games like the match between India Vs Pakistan, Australia Vs India or England Vs Australia bring a lot of revenue as advertisers are interested in these matches.

At the same time, the gambling in these matches is to the next level and bookies spend a lot of money on betting on these high profile matches. You and I only watch these matches while we never know what is going on behind the scene when it comes to betting and advertising. This is a whole new business that runs along with the match.

A small correction. The peak viewership for the India vs Pakistan match was 15 million. I was expecting in the range of 20-25 million, since it was a Sunday and the timeslot was very convenient for the viewers in subcontinent. And BTW, there wasn't much difference in the viewership for the other matches as well. The Ireland vs Australia match had a peak viewership of 11 million. Hopefully the numbers would be higher once we go in to the semi-finals stage. For Hotstar, the subscription fee and advertisement revenue should be enough to break even.

Srilanka and Afghanistan both team need to win this match if they want to stay in the tournament. At the moment Afghanistan is looking good. For England is a must win game otherwise they won't have a second chance. Newzealand can afford to lose this match but if they do then it will affect Australia. The toss will play the crucial role as both the teams will try to bat first.
