First match of ICC World Cup Qualifier series match between Kuwait vs Qatar has been finished. Kuwait team take food decision to bowl first. Qatar performance in this match was not good and they set a less target then my expectations. Qatar give 123 runs target in 20 overs and lost 6 wickets. Just few players batting performance outstanding like I.Liyanage scored 46 runs close to half century and J.Mohamed Asam scored 31 runs. But they failed to stop Kuwait to chase down their target. Mongolia is finally out of the Asian Games men's cricket competition. They made 61/9 today, batting first. But Maldives scored the required runs in just 6.4 overs, with 9 wickets to spare. This was the first ever international tournament for both the men's and women's teams of Mongolia and they can only improve from this point. Yes I have watched the entire game of this match but honestly I have no idea about these teams. So I refrained from betting on this match. As much as I understood in the game of the first match of the World Cup qualifiers. Kuwait is a stronger team than Qatar. However, to qualify for the World Cup, the Kuwaiti team needs to gain more strength. In today's match, the players of the Kuwait team played excellently. First match of ICC World Cup Qualifier series match between Kuwait vs Qatar has been finished. Kuwait team take food decision to bowl first. No matter how weak the opposition is, 123 runs can never be a fighting score in any T20 cricket although Kadar fought hard for this 123 runs but in the end they could not win this 123 runs. What Qatar managed to score in 20 overs, Kuwait scored in just 15 overs and they lost only three wickets to score 123 runs, meaning their game looks like they are very professional level cricketers. If Kuwait team can be looked after properly then this team will definitely do better than the other qualifying teams.

Both are teams that are equally strong. We can't make a conclusion that one team is better over the other while valuating Kuwait and Qatar. In this match Kuwait had won it in a much comfortable manner. In the previous match played by the two, Qatar won the match by a run. Based on the Head to Head stats it looks like Qatar have won more number of matches than Kuwait. Within few days we'll have another match between the two teams and I believe Qatar will win in the upcoming match.

Maldives was beaten by KSA in opening game by 62 runs. Batting first KSA gave a target of 172 runs and Maldives in reply where able to make only 110 runs. In the second game Kuwait beat Qatar by 7 runs.
KSA, Qatar and Kuwait squads are entirely made up of expats. Cricket must be unique game in a sense that players on work visa are playing in national squads. No other regulatory body allow such things.

Mangolia vs Maldives

Today these two teams are playing. In the last match of Mangolia with Nepal we saw that how Nepal performed well and Mangolia team wasn't good in that match.
 Today  Maldives first match in this tournament so it is difficult to say how it will perform. But if we take a look or current situation so Mangolia team not playing well. They made 29 runs in 12 overs and lost 6 wickets. So I don't think so Mangolia will cross 50 runs. If this will happen so it is not a good target. And I think Maldives will chase easily.

Mongolia were much better today, and they made 60/9 after 20 overs. The fact that they were able to bat for full 20 overs is a big achievement for them. The last wicket partnership between Tur-erdene Sumiya and Tumursukh Turmunkh added valuable 18 runs for the Mongolian innings. However, it was Davaasuren Jamyansuren who top-scored for them with 15 from 39 balls. He had top-scored yesterday as well, during the match against Nepal. Maldives is not one of the strongest teams in Asia. They have a population of only around 0.5 million and there are no large grounds in the islands. Only when they travel outside their country, they get a chance to play in proper cricket grounds. But Maldives cricket team is active since the 1970s. On the other hand, Mongolians started playing cricket a couple of years ago. And their very first match was against Nepal, which is one of the strongest teams in Asia. But to their credit, in the second match they managed to bat for the full 20 overs.

Singapore won by 99 runs. Suryawanshi played well and made  53 runs in 36 balls. Prakash made  29 runs in 15 balls. Param made  32 runs in 38 balls. Singapore made 152 runs with fall of 8 wickets. Pengkumta took 4 wickets by giving 22 runs in 4 overs. Senamontree and Namchaikul took 1 one wicket . In chase, Thailand 9 batsman cannot enter in double figures and all team out by making 53 runs. Achar Performered very well and took  4 wickets by giving only 8 runs in 4 overs.

Restricting any team to 152 runs in T20 cricket is a sign of good bowling,and such bowling should encourage us rather than criticise,but the whole team getting out for 53 runs is momentous.Of course, these teams are still playing in their early stages, due to which such performance can be expected from these teams.It still takes a lot of time and effort to bring these teams to the international level.

Sometimes such incidents happen even in the matches of good international level teams.In the recent  Asia Cup played between India and Sri Lanka, the entire Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 50 runs,Although it was an ODI match instead of T20.However, the Singapore team deserves to be congratulated for the win.

Thailand had a poor performance against Singapore in the Asian Games T20 tournament. Thailand were bowled out for just 53 runs against Singapore as Singapore secured a massive 99 run win in this match. I did not watch this match between Singapore vs Thailand live but I watched the scorecards of both teams closely after the match.  

When Singapore batted first against Thailand and scored 152 runs in 20 overs, the target for Thailand was 153 runs off 120 balls. Chasing a target of 153 runs, they lost wickets from the start which saw them batting till 15 overs and lost all wickets against Singapore by a huge margin.

I think because of their lack of experience in the Asia Cup they were behind in the matches otherwise they could have done better. In the upcoming tournament they will compete against Afghanistan or Bangladesh and there is no doubt that they will be placed in a high position.

The first match of the Australia Women vs West Indies Women T20 series has started. West Indies Women batted first and collected 147 runs for 3 wickets. Hayley Matthews had a brilliant performance scoring 99 off 74 balls, missing out on a century by 1 run. Australia Women will get more support than West Indies Oman as they are playing at home. Batting a target of 148, Australia Woman collected 57 runs for 1 wicket in 6 overs. Tahlia McGrath is unbeaten on 26 off 14 balls, Alyssa Healy is unbeaten on 18 off 13 balls. 89 runs needed from 84 balls to win. If the wicket is not under pressure then Australia women can win easily. I think the chances of Australia women winning today are very high.
