Personal milestones are never bigger than team objectives. Hardik did the right thing. If Tilak wanted to reach the 50, then he should have kept strike. Why should Hardik risk a win for his team, so that Tilak is able to reach his half-century? Anyway, now the series shifts to USA. Remaining two matches will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill. I never understand ICC's and BCCI's passion with USA. Even after two decades of failed efforts, they still believe that cricket will become popular in that country.

BTW, the useless T20I series between New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates starts next week, with the first match being played on 17th August. Teams like New Zealand never plays any matches against associate nations like Nepal and Netherlands. UAE is special, since they have a lot of petro-dollars.

Your points are valid, but you need to understand the fact that these matches are effectively boring which is why they are watched by very few people around the world even though they do help associate teams gain much needed experience.

Didn't check the squad or any announcement but it would be pretty dumb from the BCCI if they include him after keeping him out for like 2 years, it would send a mixed message to youngsters and seniors which is not good in the longer run.

I guess they included him and some other old players as it's his farewell series which is why these are just temporary changes. Am waiting to see Bumrah on top of his game again at some point in the future.

It is a known fact that ICC stands in favour of the teams that have got good sum of money. Along with the same it is controlled by few cricket boards and they take decision based on the some rules that brings money for them. ICC should be independent, only then it can work without any interruption from cricket boards that are placed high. If not when making arrangements adding a team nearby could've been done. This could solve the problem, rather than a bilateral series it would be a tri series and a third team also gets an opportunity to improve their ability.

Shubman Gill created a lot of buzz with his brilliant performance in the last IPL but failed to give his best in the last tour of West Indies after finishing the IPL. Shubman Gill has now performed in only one match of this complete series. He was able to score 85 against the West Indies in the third ODI and then we did not see a good score from his bat in the last three T20Is. Indian cricket has a lot of players in its pipeline so if Shubman Gill doesn't have to return to runs very soon, he may lose his position. KL Rahul might not feature in T-20 setup anytime soon. He fucked up as an opener plenty of times, even if he does (which is unlikely) it won't be an easy task for him.

In ODI too he missed the bus as far as the opener slot is concerned, nowadays he's considered only middle order batter + Keeper and his record is nice in this slot.

Yes I also know that Shubman Gill is a good player because I have seen him play very well in Test matches. I do not understand the reason for his poor performance in T20 matches.  But it is expected that he will play well in the 4th match.  Because if India can't beat West Indies in the 4th match then it will be a shame for India. This is what I don't understand. If they really want to experiment with the players, then why can't they organize a few India A and India U-23 tours? I don't even remember when was the last time we had a series with these teams. Pushing payers directly into international cricket is crazy. They may not be prepared for that, as many of them don't have the necessary experience of playing under SENA conditions. Even if they allow the IPL franchises to play 3-4 matches outside India during off-season, that will help tremendously.

So the current season without these experienced players is quite good. Not all players stay in the team forever and have to leave due to age. The biggest obstacle for experienced players is their age.
