You have a long list of altcoin portfolio that have tanked down by 90% since you participated in the ICO.  What was $5000 is now worth $500.  You are at a loss of $4000 and there happen to be an upcoming token sale that is pretty hyped.

You are in desperate need to recover your losses and you plan to invest in that hyped token sale in hope that you can earn 5-10x.  Would you:

1. Pump fresh fiat out of your pocket into the token sale or
2. Trade off the the altcoins you have for BTC/ETH and invest into that hyped token sale.

Share your thoughts.
If you have lost, it is best to hold on. Don't sell anything now. forget it and do other things, wait for the 20k $ BTC to get things back. Or you can buy IEO, is a pretty hot trend now.

trade, that's what I do every time. although this is still not enough to return what is lost. but at least I've tried. rather than just being quiet and waiting for something uncertain, trading is the best way in my opinion

Actually Im already lossing in investment for some ico coins, So, in this momentary I am not willing to risk any type of any moment. But now I am paying more importance to trading for getting some profit. Even this is my main goal and i want my losses to return some profit at this time.

I am not adding more Fiat as I have enough different coins for investing purposes into new projects. There were times when I was adding Fiat in these situations when I wanted to recover losses or to have a better average price.

I will not do anything rather just to hold all of coins, which I bought at peak price when BTC was on rise.

I did not lose too much. Therefore, I am going to hold the cryptocurrencies that I have. My buddy managed to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum when they were expensive. Now he is at a loss, but I also recommend him to hold crypto.

Trade would always be helping and supporting. It depends on every single individual how he or she will react to loss but for me, I think we shouldn’t be depressed. Like someone said, every problem is an opportunity. Likewise every loss is a chance to let your deeply observe it and take out the pin points where wrong decision were made. Analyze them and make different strategy through trading or holding or anything you like.

This March 2019 has ushered in a new era of IEOs thanks to Binance who opened the floodgate, so to recover my loss, I am participating in some carefully selected and better IEOs, they are the rave if the moment now and they are doing so well.

Now it makes no sense to sell portfolios created in 2017. Therefore, they should be put aside and wait for the rise. But if you know how and have money, invest in short positions and trade. In any market, you can make a profit.
I fell pity over those who in the Bull Run back in 2017 and had the opportunity to withdraw with great profits but they did not and are now crying over spilt milk. This is evident that they lack what it takes to make the money in cryptocurrency. But forget about what is gone. Another bear market with down prices is moving towards boom in future. Better make use of this opportunity.

Because the market has experienced a price decline that has caused me to lose a lot of money in ico and also invest in altcoins, this is a risk but I am not unyielding and now I am starting to recover the situation by trading. this slightly reduces the loss that I experienced.

I took most of my losses around a year ago and went 90% into Bitcoins. I have taken new positions now in altcoins, but not in all the altcoins I was holding a year ago, new altcoins have shown up and some of the altcoins from 2017 seems like dead projects.
I think it will be possible for people to get back what they lost in the long bear market, but we need to keep an eye on new projects also.

There are some good projects now which are still good to invest, like binance ieo and other exchanges now have theirs. I can't dwell in the losses of the past so I have to look for some good projects and invest , this time I have to be very wise about. But not doing anything won't bring back the losses.

the way I recover losses is to keep investing because that's the only way, because if I stop investing it will be the same as releasing my money.
but if we continue to invest, chances are we will be able to recover losses and even make a profit.

It all depends on what tokens you have now. If they have growth prospects in the future and you are sure of this, then it is better not to sell them, and wait for their growth. If in doubt, feel free to sell and invest in new projects.

Add more funds into it but IF the ICO you invest is really good. If not then just cut loss and invest it to other coins. I think it's more better to give up and just cash your coins and move on to other coins or trading it with the rest of your balance.
I have been around people who are involved in ICOs and cryptocurrency and they are damn passionate about cryptocurrency. Even if they loose money, they put in more when the prices are down in the bear market. They believe that the Bull Run, when set, will replicate their values several times and will compensate for the loss which is quite obvious. This is a good way to make up the losses you have made.

One of the thing I have been doing which I think should work for others is to accmuulate more coins as the price is low, and hold until the next bull run.

I am trading on Zignaly, you can find my results in my post history.
But recently after a big pump on BTC, what nobody predicted, I am in a little loss (in BTC value) - because BTC grew more than other altcoins. So that is the risk of trading, even you trade BTC/alts.

Let us hope that this rise in prices for cryptocurrency over the past few days is connected with the entry of large investors into the market. As previously stated from Wall Street and heavy industry, there is a certain interest in cryptocurrency. Maybe big and good times are coming.

No matter how hyped that token is, if it's not worth to invest then I would never put my money on that token. At this moment, many tokens has been hyped by those ICO eating sites so if you want to invest in ICO then try to dig deep or study more about it before we decide to invest in their tokens.

I think it depends on the tokens you hold now. If the tokens have been hyped to the extent and you still don't find it lucrative, then please leave it. Go in for  great coins to hold for profits.
