someone should check the code for this i don't believe the coins were actually destroyed.  could be a double spend attack in attempt.   400 btc volume how is that even possible everytime we get near 100k someone dumps. unless someone holds a majority of coins

400 btc volume does not mean somebody actually bought 400 btc worth of CAIx it's just means there is lot of trading going on. Someone checking the code is of course fine, but it is obvious that Stuhlman is in this for the long run and not out to make some quick buck.

i know what volume is. Too many people pretend like they know anything about crypto but when things go wrong and they didnt do their due diligence they're like "omg what's going on!?!?!"

All one needs to do is look at the total of CAIx that has been created(1.6 mil), then add the 5% annual rate by however many days in we are to POS.  If it all adds up then there is nothing shady.

wrong, that part will add up. How about looking at who holds the majority of coins or the code itself? Dropping down to total supply of 1.6m was a bad thing IMO

A double spend attack can be done with less than 51% of coins. It only requires 51% of total staking coins, and who knows how many of the top wallets belong to a single person.

The amount of CAIx on Mintpal is not changing that much as it is the top wallet on the top 100 list. The volume takes into account any transaction, so someone selling and buying numerous times during the day can contribute to an increase in volume, but it does not mean the total number of CAIx is changing by much. It just moves from one account to another. The top investors in CAIx are people who I speak with on regular basis, and they hold large number of CAIx in staking mode. These investors are also contributing to the success of our projects, and have no interest in doing any harm to the chain.

Mintpal wallet balanace right now is ~ 292k CAIx, when we did the auto exchange at Mintpal the balance was ~ 360k. This reflects rising confidence in the CAIx and that people are buying and moving CAIx into the wallets for staking, an indication of a healthy network.

Hi Stuhlman,
First thank you for your great job. I have à suggestion for the cryptonote pool:

- why not mine Bytecoin in cryptonote pool instead of monero? it is easier to mine

Thank you

will put this suggestion to the multipool dev today.
Thank You

I was wondering how it will take for my coins to go into the Stake section in my wallet. I see it says minimum 8 hours on first post; what is the longest I should expect before staking begins?

It also depends on the amount of coins which gives you weight. It should say in the bottom right corner what you time to stake is.

Experiences so far with multipool..

1) Like the look and feel
2) Easy to set up and start mining

Bugs:

1) feathercoin seems not to be added to my worker - i have seen my worker contributing shares all day, but despite 3 confirmed blocks there is no balance.
2) cryptonote pool not finding blocks. We currently have 1/10th the network hashing power, but not finding anything.
3) cookies not saved over a period of time - for example worker stats forgets my worker address.
4) estimated unconverted BTC jumps up and down by a lot (somtimes drops to about 1/4 then back up again)

Good start though!

Okay thanks for the answer Smiley one more question though...Do I need to leave my wallet client running in order to get any Stake?

about (159 H/S) / (1.59 MH/sec) = 1/10th  Huh
we talk about 1/10000th the network hashing power so we need more CPU !

For the Multipool, Is there going to be a set day of the week when payouts are sent or is it going to be based on "Estimated Unconverted" threshold?

No, you don't have to keep it open all the time. PoS will be generated after holding your CAIx for at least 8 hours in your wallet and your CAIx age will not be reduced while your wallet is closed or locked. As soon as you unlock your wallet the internal miner will start and if your CAIx meets certain requirements you will be getting PoS blocks based on your CAIx age.

So basically you can open it twice or three times a day or even once every couple of days, until coins move to stake then close it again, but it will help the network if you can have it open all the time!
