Great win by Pakistan, looks like they are trying to get back on the board although it will be tough for them to qualify for the next round. The tournament was dead almost untill the match between Eng vs SRI. Yesterday was a fantastic day as well.

It was a good win, although it came against a weak opposition. But the thing is that Pakistan is almost out of the tournament and they have nearly zero chance of qualifying for the playoffs even if they win all the remaining matches. Their good performance in the recent matches can't make up for their poor display during the initial matches.

Bangladesh will face Afghanistan today and I think Bangladesh deserve a safe win, however, the way Afghanistan bowler against India, it will be hard to win for Bangladesh as well.

Can anyone tell me which teams still have chances to qualify for the semi finals ?  Anyone can do some detail analysis on the points table.
I thought the top 4 teams (India, Australia, NZ and England) have already qualified . Isn't ?

In my opinion, all 4 are almost through to the semi-finals and I highly doubt this list will change. The only way that the other teams(Sri Lanka etc) stand a chance is to win the rest of their matches and teams like England need to lose their remaining matches.

This is highly unlikely which is why I think these 4 will be the final 4 teams in the semi-finals. Australia might face England while India might face New Zealand. India and England might end up facing each other in the finals.

Bangladesh will face Afghanistan today and I think Bangladesh deserve a safe win, however, the way Afghanistan bowler against India, it will be hard to win for Bangladesh as well.

Bangladesh also played decent cricket in this tournament so we can't decide which one will be based on that one performance.Going to be good and equal powered team so better performance will make them to be win.

Well the last two days indeed had some excitements in the WC. England lost against Sri Lanka ( I lost 0.05BTC :-( ), two close matches between WI vs NZ and India vs Afghanistan. Pakistan's performance. Seems like WC excitement has just started.

Today Bangladesh vs Afghanistan. Afghanistan has good record against Bangladesh (3 wins out of 7 matches if I am not wrong), can they equalize the winning? If they can then there will be no hope left for Bangladesh for the 2nd round.

ICC World Cup 2019: Qualification scenarios - Road to semi-finals for different teams

England - What about it?

The number 1 side, the firm favourites and also the side which has lost to Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They are now scheduled to face India, New Zealand and Australia, the in-form sides, and if they lose all the three matches, they remain stranded on 8 points and they could be ousted from the league stage.

However, even if they win one more match, their qualification is not guaranteed, although it does increase. If Sri Lanka win all their remaining three matches, they can finish with 12 points and overtake England.

What if they stay on 8 points:

They can qualify if:

--> Sri Lanka lose all their remaining matches

--> Pakistan and Bangladesh get defeated in at least two of their remaining games

--> West Indies lose one

Sri Lanka

6 points from 6 matches and the win against England gave them a massive shot in the arm. They have to play 3 more matches and they will be against

South Africa, West Indies and India. These matches won’t be easy, but they have the possibility of finishing with 12 points if they win all the three matches.

However, if they end on 10 points, they will have to sit and wait and hope England lose all their remaining matches, Bangladesh do not win more than two and Pakistan lose at least one.

They will be eliminated, if they do not win any of their matches.

2 wins from 6 matches and they have to face Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. If they win all their matches, they will finish with 11 points and can still qualify if:

Sri Lanka lose all their remaining matches

England win not win more than one.

West Indies

Three points from six games and have three more matches against India, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

Well, even if they win all their remaining matches, they will still hope England lose all their matches and, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka win not more than one each and Pakistan lose at least two.

Pakistan

Their campaign is very similar to 1992. They won against South Africa which means that are now with 5 points from 6 matches. They now face New Zealand, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. If they win all the three matches, they will end with 11 points and then hope England do not win more than one and Bangladesh and Sri Lanka lose at least one match.

In the last couple of days, we witnessed some quality cricket. England's defeat was an upset lol and India faced some serious pressure against Afghan team; match was very good, I enjoyed a lot and was supporting both teams lol. Soft corner for Afghan team.

Didn't watch Kiwis vs Windies complete match but didn't missed last 10 overs, luckily Damn that was some fine inning from allrounder Brathwaite. He almost singlehandedly won the game for Windies. I feel for him.

I think India had their lesson against Pakistan. Against Sri Lanka or any other team they will not take any risk. They already know that it's not gonna be easy for any team to lose matches and stay in the top four.

Yes, I am still confident that these three team has very good chance to life the cup but among these three my top two is India and Australia. If you ask me to pick the winner then it will be Australia :-)

Today's game is a tricky one for picking bets, but in the end I went with:

⚪ Al Hasan total: Over 34.5 (1.92)
⚪ Total ducks: Over 1.5 (2.16)
⚪ Team with highest score at 1st dismissal: Bangladesh (1.78)

Was almost tempted to go with Das instead of Al Hasan for the better odds, so glad I avoided that one now!

Meanwhile, Bangladesh crossed 200 runs at loss of 4 wickets, still 8 overs to go. they should at least touch the 260 mark, very much possible if they bat sensibly and one big over can take them close to 270-275.

Well.. it looks like Afghanistan will end this tournament without a win. They were so unlucky that none of their matches were washed out (in that case they would have received 1 point). Bangladesh might make somewhere around 280, and there is hardly any chance that the Afghans will be able to chase that much with the frail batting lineup that they got.

280 looks bit tough, Mujeeb and Rashid khan will bowl 4 overs out of 7 overs. for 280 they need atleast one big over, may be they can target seamer.

Not to mention, one more wicket and run rate will automatically go down the road.

Mahmudullah got out, but I don't think that it will be having a big impact. The scoring was being mostly done by Mushfiqur Rahim and he is still out there. Mahmudullah was being slow and now Mosaddek Hossain has replaced him. Rashid Khan is looking toothless during the last few games and Mujeeb Ur Rahman has only one over left.

Al Hasan usually do not fail. I have seen him to score fifty easily and in this world cup he is is great form. Hopefully you win.

He did win it since Hasan scored around 51 runs. His form is seriously amazing in this tournament especially after his horrible form in the recent IPL series where he was actually dropped for a couple of matches due to this very problem.

Looks like you were right. They reached 262 which is a decent total against a side like Afghanistan, but I am not expecting this contest to be one-sided at all. They might come close to the total if they bat like how they batted against India recently.
