So finally England is back in the competition. People are questioning India's betting strategy but one have to admit that England bowled really well. They mixed their bowling with slower and pace with swing.

India could go for attack from 45th or 46th over. There were no need to wait for the last over as usual Dhoni do. They had 5 wickets in hand but could not even go close in really questionable.

Anyway, I will leave it as a part of the game.

Today we have WI vs Sri Lanka. Both team are playing for honer and nothing more. Sri Lanka is betting well so far.

I also opted for WI and gone for easy margin. Sri Lanka is doing well but their middle order is not performing recently so I will still expect them not to score more than 280 runs.

13:1 sixes prove how much India tried to chase. Don't tell me I'm saying this because I'm Bangladeshi. I support team India after Bangladesh because of their batting line, I have been a fan since the era of Sachin Tendulkar.
I also can remember the 2015 world cup match between Bangladesh vs India. I know how shady this things are.
Leave it and move on next. Yes, fixing are also a part of game, just like Ponting saying "slashing are also a part of cricket."

Did you guys see how Avishka Fernando is playing. I guess it's his 3rd match in world cup. He is doing pretty much better than usual Srilankan batsman these days. I think this guy will be a genius.

For the ICC, it would be like a windfall moment. Even if Pakistan qualifies for the semifinals, they will be placed at 4th. So they will be facing the 1st team as per the point system during the semis. I am not sure whether India will be able to finish on top, as they are having 11 points from 7 matches. Australia can finish with 16 if they win their last match (vs South Africa).

SL got a fantastic day today. Avishka hit the century aa I'm expecting from him. 338 for 6 after 50 overs. I think West Indies will struggle to chase it. They are having worse time. So, SL to win the match.

Good to see Sri Lankan team performed but too late. I did not even bother to watch the full innings may be I will watch full 2nd innings. Malinga could be the highest wicket taker of this match.

Bad thing is that I am gonna lose point in the pool :-P

When Dhoni came to the crease, the required run rate was somewhere around 8 runs per over, and it was very much possible for India to win the match. But he failed to score even at a rate of one run per ball. Only when the required run rate got out of hand and got to 12-13 runs per over, he started hitting all those sixes and fours.

This happens in cricket where you can't know which team can win or lose the match till the last ball and so we just can't say Dhoni did not do his best. Rahul who is a good batsmen and mostly getting 50+ got out for 0 when the team needed him but nobody blamed him. It's only because everyone think Dhoni is a capable batsman who can perform miracles on the crease. We shouldn't forget IPL where CSK lost by 1 run.


We are not batsmen so we can't predict what really happened during the match and why they couldn't hit 4s and 6s and hence Dhoni had even mentioned once in his IVs that people think it's easy for us to hit the ball outside the crease but it can't always happen.

In the end, I can just hope they win the last 2 matches now and get the top position in the table.

How can you say that its too late for Srilanka ?
Srilanka has 6 points now. If they win this match and the next so they will end up with 10 points. If England, Pakistan and Bangladesh, all  lose their last matches, would not be there is an outside chance of Srilanka?

I also think that we cannot blame Dhoni alone , it was all team India who planned this loss. You need to understand that their is a reason why whole of the social media is targeting India team,  NOT ON  this defeat, but ON their behavior.

Well they are known for their aggressive hitting so you have very fair chances of winning unless they start loosing wickets again. At this point they have to start some hitting to speed up the run chase.

I am so excited for the ENG vs NZ to happen. That match will pretty much decide which countries still have the chances.

Only if they can hit sixes for full 50 overs, which i doubt. hitting sixes all the time can win couple of games but for longer run its very bad strategy. in ODI one need to rely on single-doubles- rotating strike and current windies team don't play this kind of cricket.

WI may lose this match as they need half the number of runs with just 20 overs left and 5 wickets. Sadly winning this game won't get both teams anywhere. It's just a win for dignity.

India is the best team for the tournament and i do not think they can lose their next two matches with Bangladesh & Srilanka (Unless they decide to lose it themselves )

I am not sure for the England performance. They had lost consecutive two previous matches and their last win with India was a gift given to them. So they will have to proof themselves in the NZ match and it will be a tough encounter.

Ugh' Very hard task for Bangladesh. They still played out of expectations tho so far. The only team I see close in chances to that spot is Bangladesh if somehow NZ beats England. One loss for Bangladesh and that will decide up everything.

BTW after checking up the table again this question has been bugging me if SL still have the chances to steal the 4th spot?
