Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20

The long awaited fight and everyone is hyped about the upcoming match between Pacquiao and Thurman! In my opinion, Pacquiao would definitely win the fight especially that his conditioning and preparation are unparalleled compared to any other boxer that I have ever seen. With his age comes speed, strength, patience, and experience in the ring which would contribute to his winning.

Although I do respect Thurman and his boxing skills, underestimating a world-class and legendary boxer in the ring would be his pitfall in the match. Almost every boxer who fought against Pacquiao were overwhelmed with his agility, power, and speed in the ring.

Well, I wouldn't say he's got the best conditioning. There's only so much you can do being 40+ years old.

I think that there's a reasonable chance that Thurman will turn up in better condition. However, the difference is Pacquiao has some solid experience under his belt, that will be the turning point.

Pacquiao by UD unless Thurman puts everything on the line and goes for a KO.

Well see on Sunday if he won't run once he tasted those punches thrown by Manny. I doubt that this fight will end via KO but we never know since Manny is training very hard for this fight. I think he got to prove to everybody that he could still fight more after this.

The KO will come if it presents itself, it's really hard to predict it the fight will end like that although I'm sure all of us wanted to see Manny ending in a KO but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes on the judges scorecard and Manny getting the nod.

As far as the picture goes, it really looks like Manny has aged obviously, but the body still remains the same. So he is really training very hard for this fight and we might see some glimpse of the old Manny, with his blistering hand speed. But I'm sure he will pick his sweet spot and not fight in spurts as he usually does. Experience is the key for Manny to win this fight.

Many fighters said that Pacquiao really hits hard but there are some who says that they are not affected by the blow but instead they've got lost because they don't see where the punch is coming from.

If you truly are a fan of this sweet science, you will love Manny's style. That in and out, side to side movement, damn i missed that move by Manny. They said that speed is power in boxing and chances are you will be knock down if you can't see and prepare for the punch that is going to hit you and Manny is very good on doing that, he hit his opponent even on an awkward angle.

I am very excited with the fight as i am betting for the Pacman @1.62 odds. Better late than never as for me this is a sure win for Manny. Thurman is just fast on the mouth but slow on hand's  speed.

The odds became lower now if you didn't saw it before. I'm with Manny but wouldn't say that this is a sure win, one lucky punch and its a turnover.

Odds are slightly higher on Nitrogensports, currently at 1.68. I was a bit surprised this number wasn't closer to 1.4, as it was for Matthysse. In any case, its all the more reason to get in on the action this time around... Don't think there's any (real) chance Manny can lose. It will be the 3rd Pacquiao fight I've seen in the PI... Its always an interesting day, kind of like a holiday.

I'm sure by now you know how Filipinos celebrate every fight day of Pacquiao (win or lose). Everyone is really excited and hype specially Filipinos. Lots of bets going around even in the local side. I think this is the first time I have seen Manny Pacquiao put a lot of efforts and prepared for a fight. Physical and mental, he is really prepare for a war because he knows that this will be one of the most dangerous and difficult fight of his career, and for some 'personal' reasons as well.

There is no doubt about it. Pacman was always in good shape even if he doesnt have a fight. What should be interesting right is his speed. They said that pacman is still as fast as before. Lets see if that can be a good weapon against Thurman which is a one blow aim specialist

IIRC, in one of his interviews he said that it's only the carabao that gets old and age is just a number but he's still in his prime, he claimed. I'm waiting for his emotion to explode and will show it through his power punches including his foot work.

Mind you we filipino grandmas/grandfather still can have a job in the age of 40-60 even at the age of 60+ above, overall, yeah, age is just a number. I’m confident manny have still his guts, power punches and his left power punch.

Very well played, Lol. It seems that majority of current and retired fighters see Manny overcoming youth with his experience and ring IQ and foot and hand speed. Those combinations will be critical specially in championships round so it make sense to factor this for those who favoured Manny.

@btc_angela. I reckon that would be a mistake for the aging Manny hehe. His knees are not similar to what they were many years ago versus Margarito Cotto.

Still though, he got some legs as compare to most boxers out there. It's not just the knees that you need to look at, just look at how huge those calves are and that is where all the power came from. I haven't seen any fighters with that huge lower body, except maybe Mike Tyson. So I think his knees will hold in this fight similar to years ago versus Cotto or Margarito.

Odds can't guarantee a win here. Yes we know how strong manny is but considering the fact that he is not as deadly as before plus we should also respect the KO rate of Thurman because a one mistake from pacman will turn everything from side to down. Remember that fight from Marquez? where all of us got stunned by that outcome?. I really do have high respect to high powered puncher like Thurman.

In this fight, Pacquiao is the more active fighter than Thurman. He is landing more punches and move faster even thou he is older than his opponent. Manny is in its perfect condition right now and he must maintain it until his fight.

Roach predicted that it will end in Round 9 via TKO which is very unusual for him to predict but lets see if his prediction will happen. I believe that Manny will win in this fight too but I think it will be a close fight or a possible draw.

3 days before the fight  and philippines our now ready to give full support to manny. All Barangay Stations in phillipines will become a cinema. That fun when manny launches super punch to his opponent, all filipinos shout loud when that happened.

I'm a Pacman fan and i would bet even if it is now 1.50 on the odds. Got a feeling that Manny would showcase his speed here against the slower Thurman.

Just out of curiosity, where do the Filipinos here like to watch the fights? I'm still looking for a place... I don't have a "local barangay" so I need to find a sports bar (not many in Cagayan de Oro)...

I usually watch Manny Pacquiao fights in resto bars. It is not that hard to find one (as far as my experiences here in Davao City is concerned). Almost all kinds of restaurants, bars, food courts, "local barangay" gymnasiums or courts, and even private homes will turn into pay-per-view sites during Pacquiao fights. I even watched a Pacquiao fight at a private university gymnasium here.

And oh, by the way, a Manny Pacquiao fight day here should be declared a non-working holiday. It is more watched than the SONA (State Of the Nation Address).

Mr One Time almost got stopped in his last fight and won by MD against a low ranked opponent.

Sure he has a punchers chance, but if if Pacquiao just keeps his guard up and doesn't go for any bang outs he should have no problem winning.

Regardless, the roads all over the country are unbelievably peaceful during Pacquiao fights. Not just roads though. There is literally minimal to zero crime during Pacquiao fight days. Even the "gateway to hell" (Manila) shall give you a peek of paradise in that too short a moment when Manny is trading blows far away.

I'm sure that most of the places that has livestreaming of the match would shout for cheering people's champ. This is giving me the chills now while the match is getting nearer and nearer each day.

I'm waiting for local bettors to ask for an advantage just to continue their bet if ever they can't find someone to bet against them.

That is cool. I mean the impact with the Manny fight, the whole Philippine is on a stand still. Heard of this news many times as well so I'm not surprised if Filipinos will go and have like a party watching Manny fight Keith Thurman.

I'm rooting for Manny and do hope that it will be one of the best highlights of his career if ever he knock out Thurman on Saturday or Sunday (depending on our timezone).
