Virtual reality is one of the favorite fantasy concepts. Everyone talked about it, from Gibson to Wachowski.
yeah! those movies first  started exploring immersion methods and tighter interaction in VR

like content or orientation in space. The sensation of the body is still an illusion.

The problem of orientation in space is relevant. This applies to both the fine motor skills of the fingers and the system for moving the whole body in space. It is very interesting to watch the development of platforms like Valve and HTC.

as for fine motor skills, there are several different technologies - Leap Motion hand motion sensor, gloves like Control VR, motion capture sensors (Perception Neuron), controllers from Vive, Oculus Rift (aka Oculus Touch) and Sony Morpheus (well-known Move). All have their own disadvantages and merits.

the real question is how to make virtual reality closer to people and more useful?
