What happened is like a Cinderella story for them. I also think this is probably the weakest and luckiest Real Madrid team that won the Champions League. It was just Liverpool against Thibaut Courtois, man was never going to be denied tonight, he literally won them this trophy!!!  Looking back at how Real Madrid advance through every adversity right from the round of 16 against PSG, then Chelsea and Man City, I'd say it was just meant to be.

Thibaut Courtois was very brilliant today with some point blank saves, Liverpool took all the possessions, shot on goal etc unfortunately couldn't convert those scoring chances to a goal, honestly Real Madrid sticked to their game plan by allowing Liverpool to take the possessions, they absorbed all the pressure mounted by the Liverpool took their chance and scored thus their game plan worked out perfectly, it was like a one-sided match however the more experience side won, I earlier predicted a narrow win over Liverpool, congratulations to Real Madrid for a record 14th champion of UCL.

Courtois makes all Liverpool cry tonight. He is a person who saves Madrid from dangerous attackers in the world. I don't know how when Madrid is without him, at least 3 goals will create by Liverpool. This is a tragedy for Liverpool, I know part of the members here leaning toward Liverpool, but, Real Madrid is the real king, they are the owner of the Champions League.

Liverpool played very well and kept trying to break into Real Madrid's tough defense and also the goalkeeper was very good at defending him, Thibaut Courtois was an excellent goalkeeper as he was always able to parry the kicks of Muhamed Salah and other attackers.
and even though the Final ended on penalties, Real Madrid will still win because everyone will be optimistic to see Thibaut Courtois play. Real Madrid looked helpless against Liverpool today but they managed to win the match. I can easily say that they played very well both in goal and defense. Damn I chose Liverpool to win the game but the results say otherwise, even though Liverpool were very impressive throughout the game and had many chances to score but none of them scored against Madrid.
This is what I fear when Madrid do a very effective and scary counter attack.

That was no "cross-ball" that led as a serve for Vinicius Junior. It was actually meant to become a shot on target. The fact that he didn't hit the ball correctly ultimately led to Junior getting the chance to score eventually. So when you only have two chances the whole game, and you use one that came with a portion of luck, does that make you a special team?

I wouldn't argue against that if Madrid had like 5 / 6 / 7 attempts on target and there was a lucky one that finally ended in the back of the net. But here it was 1 out of 2, once more an absolutely weird game. Doesn't mean that Madrid wouldn't have won in the end anyway. Sure, if Liverpool didn't manage to score, it could still have been Real Madrid in the end who take it home. But this one was the continuation of the whole final CL round for Madrid.

Courtois has made some very important saves for Real Madrid. I remember watching him being very active whenever the ball was in the danger zone. To be honest his tall figure helps him a lot . And the moment Muhammad Salah was denied by him was the deciding moment of the match in my opinion.

I still cannot believe that Real Madrid have won the Champions League in spite of not having a very strong squad. It is good to see Benzema lifting the Champions League trophy but at the same time, it is sad to see Muhammad Salah getting denied again.

A lot of people are not talking about Carvajal. He was the one who set up the goal for Real Madrid.

I was actually amazed to see that Liverpool did not do well at all from the corner kicks that they got. They could not head the ball once directed towards the goal from a corner kick. And it is true that Liverpool's attackers were not in the form in the last match but I have to say Mohammad Salah tried his best.

If I remember correctly I think he was making a lot of runs but he was not being provided the balls that he wanted. And obviously, the goalkeeper of Real Madrid denied Liverpool multiple times.

For me, Thibaut Courtois deserves the status as the best player in this match. Thibaut Courtois made nine saves in the 90 minutes of the final which left Mohamed Salah looking like he was frustrated trying to score.
