Latest official information from UEFA website: Source: https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/news/newsid=2642205.htmlUEFA executive committee to make final decision on how to complete all UEFA competitions this year. After the end of the executive committee meeting, a online press conference will be held and will start at approximately 15:30 CET. The press conference will be streamed live on UEFA.com. There is the latest news of the dexamethasone which can save about 33% lives for people who are using respiratory ventilators and 20% of people who need oxygen.I hope the progress is made quick so UEFA competitions and all other sports activity can start normal again in September hopefully. It is of no big interest how UEFA Champions league will end now,we know it will be played in closed doors making it not the usual event more than 1 billion persons are waiting for.

It would be safer to do both finals in hehe same country as there will be no fans and no income is going to flow.
Income can still come in from television rights, press and maybe meet and greet. Apart from that it will go down in history that the finals where played in different countries, letting the pandemic rule us is not the best option, both competitions final should be played in separate geographical location. My concern is for the competition to finish this year thanks to the research team and there efforts to make vaccines or medication treatment to combat the virus, soon enough hopefully the stadium gates would be open to fans

Portugal tourism was welcoming UK tourists as early as early June, so maybe they knew something after all.
Too bad Liverpool got KO'd early, but okay at least we know something, great stuff. Now my betting money can go somewhere after all! Might even travel to Germany to see some Europa action!

The more I think about this, the more I like it. It will be almost as if we have Euros, a bunch of really important games coming one after another.
The teams that play first will have a big advantage though, 1 more day of rest in situations when the games are coming really fast can be a deciding factor and a big edge between 2 similarly strong teams.
Do we know the substitutions format yet or is it still a bit too early for that?

This is just the best available options that the UEFA committee can employ and i am glad it came out sooner. Now there is a neutral ground and a one legged time, which means, no home advantage anywhere, the best team wins. Also, The venues are scheduled to be in Germany for the Europa league, makes it more like a world cup or Euro competition schedules.

It would be like that. But it would not be fair for all teams. The fact that the games will be played like that will only benefit the stronger teams and those who have players to do rotation. Having said that, I think that a team with those characteristics is going to win the CL title.

It will be a new history where the game this time is a little different from before the quarter-final match, and the semifinals will be played without two legs, aka will use a knockout system. UEFA has also determined the final match for the next four seasons, namely: 2021: Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey 2022: Saint Petersburg Stadium, St. Petersburg, Rssia 2023: Football Arena Munich, Munich, Germany 2024: Wembley Stadium, London, England Source: https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/025e-0f9a3f8c5c4d-3323c8a96a4d-1000--when-will-the-champions-league-resume/

will be interesting, in one match all teams have their chances to win the champions league, and i think that underdogs have more chances, i think that Bayern chances are low, since their league will be already finish before that, and they will have almost two months break before CL final tournament

UEFA president Ceferin also did not ruled out possibility that fans could attent final games. At least now fans can't attrnd stadiums in Portugal, but there is almost 2 months until games. Situation is gettin better in Europe in general, countries open borders, in some leagues fans can visit stadiums already, so I think it's possible. And it would be great. But I imagine that ticket price would be freaking expensive if limited number of fans would be permitted. https://www.bt.com/sport/news/aleksander-ceferin-unsure-if-fans-can-attend-champions-league-games

It's very fair from UEFA. Hopefully coronavirus will not change all this plans again next year 😁😁

It's more about saving face though if they pull it off and they will by lobbying every political agenda they can, they will get promotions, bonuses, contract extensions etc. 2 months is a long time. By that time all the leagues are over and everyone will be looking forward to spend.

I don't know about UEFA and there love for money, but what I know is this, the plan to make the next knockout phases a one legged matches -proves they have acknowledgement of the pandemic situation- if something comes up before the finale matches -even a more limited lockdown- then few tickets can be sold -VIP, ex-players- UEFA would not risky anyone's health for the finals of the UEFA champions league.

@Daniel91 UEFA has always been greedy for money I knew that, but risking the life’s of people just to earn few extra bucks is really sad, and I hope that the authorities will deny them the permission to allow fans inside the stadium. @BIT-BENDER selling tickets to ex players too is a bad idea as it’ll set a precedent that all other league’s will follow, and what happens if those ex players have covid and it’s discovered later don’t you think that’s it’s a risky idea?, hence I’ll once again repeat that no fans should be allowed in the stadium. I can't really imagine that there will be a chance for fans in the UCL or Europa League this year. Sure, they would love get at least a part of that juicy ticket money but, for example, here in Germany where the Europa League matches will be played all major events are prohibited until November. And to give Football another special treatment would be extremely unfair for all other sport, music or cultural events.

I don't think that is the main reason for making the knockout matches a one-legged affair. I think it's more due to the fact that players will already be tested physically due to them playing every 3 days in their national competitions. They will be dead-tired. Take the heat into consideration as well. They just want to end the season to prepare and save the next one.
