Srilanka Vs England 2nd Test Match

Today is the 2nd Test match between Srilanka and England. They have played two test matches before first was the tour match and after that they played the first test match. And in both matches England showed great performance and they are looking still strong. And I think they will play well in this Test match which is going to start today. Srilanka try well to compete but unfortunately they have a tough opponent therefore they lose the match. I hope Srilanka will try to their best to win this match.

England are leading the series by 1-0 and there are high chances that they will make it 2-0 by the end of this test match. If Srilanka is able to only draw this test, i would consider it an achievement for them. In the last test match, the Srilanka team were quickly out at 236 but made an improvement in 2nd innings by making 300+ runs. Similarly, in bowling, they were able to take 5 wickets for England at 200 runs.

Things were looking better for Sri Lanka at the end of that test match but it was too late for them to come back. If they can contiune that form, maybe they can give surprise to the England team but right now all the odds favour England to win this test.

In my point of view in the last match SriLanka gave a tough time England like we can see SriLankan team played first inning and they made 236 runs. After that England team made 358 runs means gave a lead of 122 runs. And in the second inning SriLankan team played little well and they made 326 runs. Means they gave a target of 204 runs. But here is important thing is that when England was chasing this target so they lost 5 wickets. So that is the point means if SriLanka gave a target of 304 runs so they have chances of winning.
So this means they have chances of winning in today match to. By the way this is too early to guess. So let's wait for the match end 

But I think it will not be easy for Sri Lanka to turn around against England team. If we look at the score of the last test, if Sri Lanka can perform bit better then nothing is impossible in cricket. If Sri Lanka's top 4 batsmen can perform well, their scores will increase which will help the team in good position. We saw England fall by five wickets in the last match. Had Sri Lanka scored more in that position, it would have been tough for England. There is a big difference between England and Sri Lanka in Test cricket rankings. If Sri Lanka not show very good performance then it will not be easy for the Sri Lankan team to win any of the test match of this series.

The second Test match between Sri Lanka and England will be played today. We have seen the first test match won by England team in a grand manner where Sri Lanka team lost.  So today's match we can hope Sri Lankan team will play well and try to improve their game to win against England. Another thing that we might be missing here is that the two grounds are different and therefore we can't expect a similar performance by both the teams. From England point of view they are playing at their home ground, so they know about the pitch conditions but the Sri Lanka team will have to adjust according to the pitch. This match will be played at Lords while the first test was hosted at Manchester.

It is difficult to beat England on their home turf. If Sri Lanka takes the wicket of Joe Root early in the inning they will have a chance in this test match. The problem with the Sri Lankan team is that their top order has not performed in the past few games. Their middle order worked hard to get them some runs in the last few games. If England bowlers manage to take the wickets of the Sri Lankan de Silva, Chandimal, Mathews, and Kamindu Mendis in quick succession, things will get difficult for them. Kamindu Mendis is an excellent talent and performed in many pressure games. I expect a good game of cricket as I think Sri Lanka will improve their performance in this test match.

The 2-innings game took four days to complete and the equation was that both teams would have to complete the remainder of the game in one day, so naturally everyone assumed that the match would be a draw. Chances were high that it would probably be a draw and the chances of either team defeating the other was very low but the Pakistani batsmen could not settle on the wicket on the fifth day and there were more positive points for Bangladesh as Bangladesh batted ahead of Pakistan in the first innings.

Before Sri Lanka, England cricket team played a Test series against West Indies where they won the series. Similarly, they are currently performing well in Test matches against Sri Lanka and have already taken the lead in the first match series. Let's observe the performance of the first test match between these two teams. It can be said that the Sri Lankan batsmen's performance in the first match was fairly good, not too good.
