Congrats on your win kabayan, that was an easy game for the Gin Kings. I never thought that they would beat ROS that easily. As usual, Justine Brownlee has a superb performance as usual on that game scoring 40 points but the x-factor for me on the Ginebra side was the outside shooting of Ralph Cu who was 5 of 7 beyond the arc, scoring 15 points in that game. TBH, the reason why i chose ROS on that game is because i felt like the Gin Kings is undersize in this conference, i mean the import of the opposing teams is almost at 7 feet while Justine Brownlee is just 6'6, they give up height but luckily for them they have the heart and now they sit at the 2nd at the standings and they are secured to have that twice-to-beat advantages going into the quarters.

The problem with the Gin Kings was that their outside shooting never really fell, while Ginebra’s outside shooting was very efficient. Once again, Brownlee was unstoppable, while the ROS import looked ineffective and was clearly limited by Ginebra’s defense. You know how it goes, when he doesn’t dance, they lose. And it’s even sadder because it ended in a blowout, so now we know they were not really a legit number 1 team. Maybe it’s a good thing they didn’t stay at the top.

NLEX vs Titan is our first game today.

My prediction here is that NLEX will likely win by a blowout. A team like Titan is already at the bottom with no real chance of making the elimination round, so they’ll probably just play loose here. So I’m not only expecting NLEX to dominate, I also think this could turn into a high-scoring game since Titan is not really a good defensive team.

Unfortunately, the line is not available yet in my bookie, so I’ll probably just wait for the live line and see if I like the spot before placing my bet.

It doesn’t look like that now. Titan were actually leading after halftime, but in the 3rd quarter NLEX managed to come back. So I still think NLEX is going to win this game, but it probably won’t be a blowout anymore. I think the maximum is around 10 points.

Does anyone know the handicap on this game? Because when I was watching at halftime, you could still get NLEX at only -1.5. So if they go on to win, those who took them after the break are probably happy with what they’re seeing now.

That’s also one reason why the locals were struggling, because they were not touching the ball that much. The ball rotation was really the problem in that game, they relied too much on one player instead of moving the ball around.

With that loss, I think they will already be in a twice-to-beat disadvantage, and that’s a tough position to be in.

We got so hyped with Bol Bol that i always placed a bet on them but end up disappointed because of how he plays, i mean he do score points but plays less defense as he always gassed-out in the 4th quarter. Bol Bol for me is not the type of player/import in the PBA as he can be effective only for 24 minutes and if goes beyond that, he will be exhausted.

We've got an interesting game for tonight, SMB vs Terrafirma. Both teams badly needed the win to advance into the playoffs. On paper this looks like a game where SMB should win but i have observed lately that they are not too good on covering the spread so i'll take Terrafirma with handicap of course.

I can’t believe Phoenix lost to Macau. They were down early, then recovered in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, only to lose it again in the 4th. That was supposed to be one of the easiest games for them, but they still failed to close it.

Even without Rivero, I think they had enough to win that game. The problem was their game plan wasn’t really effective, and they did not execute well when it mattered most.

For Macau, that was finally their first win against a team with an import playing.
Let’s see if they can come back in the country again, but honestly, they still don’t look that competitive yet.

Now, Phoenix is in twice to beat disadvantage.

Yup, they have a lots of stars who can contribute but instead of maximizing them they relied their offense mostly for Bol and unfortunately even Bol is doing his stuff that's not enough to win a game, they need to help him and execute other options and not just to focus with their import, let see if how they'll going to adjust in finding that adjustment still possible to move forward though it will be a tough one since they are in a twice to beat disadvantage.

With the attitude of their import, it will be hard for them to adjust. If Bol is not given the ball or if he is not producing, it looks like he is not inspired to play. I mean, TNT could not even make him focus on defense, while the locals also seem more focused on offense. So I think it will still be the same problem for them. Maybe we should stop wasting our hopes on this team and just see their real struggle. They have talent, but if the system depends too much on one import and the effort is not consistent, it will be hard for them to go far.

I was a bit happy at first because they managed to trim the lead to less than 20 points. But sadly, the 3rd and 4th quarter were all Meralco. It didn’t even look like they were playing a non-bearing game, they still played seriously and kept pushing until the end. So even with that high handicap, I still lost.

Not sure why Meralco needs to take it seriously and beat Terra with that high deficits seems that they are aware of that high handicap and they need to cover it, hahaha..  but kidding aside, they really play it with high pride knowing that they need to bring that confidence to the next round, better luck next time Kabayan, and congrats sa ating kabayang @bisdak another win for your pick!

Thanks mate, just lucky though that ROS didn't push hard unlike what Meralco did to Terrafirma. Though the Elastopainters were up all the time but just lucky that Titan Ultra didn't lost composure and they managed to kept the game close. There are records that were break in that game between ROS and Titan Ultra like it was 48 points in a single quarter (3rd) for ROS and also 70 points off the bench still for ROS. That might be the reason why ROS didn't blew out Titan Ultra as coach Yeng was using almost all of his players.

For tonight, i'm placing a bet for the Beermen against Phoenix. To be honest this is a risky bet since both SMB and Phoenix are unpredictable but since i'm a fan of the Beermen, i'm rooting for them to win and cover the spread tonight.

What time did you place your bet? Because currently, I’m checking and SMB is already at -22.5. Does that mean Phoenix is playing without an import?

Honestly, that line is quite high. But judging from the current movement, I think SMB covering that -6 should be easy now. That’s a huge difference from the current line.

So Phoenix is really short-handed now, but so far they are still able to answer with their outside shooting.
What I’m seeing though is that this game lacks defense. And since this is a non-bearing game, whoever wins will still end up in a twice-to-beat disadvantage anyway.
So this might turn into another high-scoring game, just like the first game today. Both teams may just play loose, take more shots, and not really put too much pressure defensively.
