Lots of yellow cards last night, I usually expect goals when these two titans play each other. Defences came out on top though which is very surprising.

Many of the yellow cards in this match from both sides were total 8 and the most kicks were from Real Madrid but none of them scored so it might be difficult for both clubs to score.
In my opinion, in a giant team match without a goal it was less impressive and there was no celebration from players who got hotter.

The goalless scoreline was the most suprising aspect of the game, the last a Liga El Classico between both teams ended scoreless was in in 2002 over 11 years ago.

Madrid could have won it, but I'm glad Barcelona by all means get to retain their 1st position.

And this is the first time the El classico is ending in a goaless draw in over seventeen years, since 2002. It wasn't the typical El classico match everyone was expecting, with all the hype this match gets, it surely deserves goals.

Both teams remain level on points, Barcelona leads with only goal difference. It will be a tight title race till the end, it may even be decided by the slightest of margins, goal difference maybe.

To anyone who said the draw was boring,,, well, I think they are the type of people who do not enjoy football for the action. I tell you, Aston Villa beating Liverpool boys 5-0 was more boring than El Clasico 0-0,,, and I am not even someone who watches La Liga games a lot! Of course I enjoy big scoring games goals are nice but I always can remember the moves and spirit of derbies. I am Spurs so London games are always exciting even with few goals!

Did you watch the match (el clasico)? people said the match was boring not because the final result was 0-0, but rather because of how the game itself went. This is due to the appearance of Barcelona which is slightly below their performance. Casemiro managed to turn off the movement of Lionel Messi. Madrid so dominated that night. People hope that both teams can play entertaining football. Apparently far from it.

It is always positively to start a new year with a win match behind. Real - Athletic game should be interesting. Athletic always been difficult opponent for them. I would love to see Rewl dropping points, but I don't think it's going to happen today.
Atletico win against Betis @2.00 looks nice and I'm going to bet on it. Though Atleti aren't performing very well this season, especially away.
Osasuna - Real Sociedad game looks most difficult to win. And I expect Levante win over Celta today.

yes that is true , in the last 5 matches atletico madrid never get 3 points in all competition , it is 3 draw of 0-0, 1-1 and another 1-1 lost 1-0 and 2-1. they are indeed struggle to win in away matches, the goal amount also around 2 and 3 goals.

but it is strange if you check the odds out for under 2.5 goals a bit high , is this a sign there will be more than 2 goals?
also for your information that real betis won the last meeting with atletico madrid , 1-0 for real betis at home.

We are looking at the top and saying how real Madrid have to win this game to stay in the championship run but you guys do realize that Athletico Madrid is not really doing that well neither as well right? They are at 29 points right now with literally 3 teams trailing them very close (bilbao, valencia and sociedad) so if they lose there is a chance they could drop even further and athletico Madrid is a team that needs success to keep success, the moment they are out of European cups they won't make as much money and they won't be able to get their decent roster back for next season and that would be start of their doom. So, they need to be in first 5 no matter what. They will play their heart out and hope to get at least 1 point from real Madrid if they can.

If I would want to see a match of tactics I would watch chess. Football is about getting the ball and try to score. Not waiting for your opponent to make a mistake.
Of course a match with a thousand goals is more interesting than one with none.

Well, you should watch the third or second division then. Lots of goals there.

Well nobody wants to lose, but sometimes you just can't win due to various reasons. But if Madrid sucks hard, any team can beat them. And that seems to be possible to happen. Literally almost every top team is dropping hard this season.

HT - Osasuna 1 - 3 Real Socieadad

I added an away win (@2.34) to my three team parlay and for now it looks like Real might get away with the 3 pts. A bit dissapointing that they conded a goal right before HT, but overall, pretty fun game so far. Oh, and what a masterclass from Odegaard, crazy assist in the first goal and then a fantastic free kick. MVP!

Historically the records does not show that Athletic Bilbao can upset Real Madrid in their home ground as i have not seen a win for Athletic Bilbao for more than a decade and lost more than a dozen matches and in this match i am not expecting any upsets and Real Madrid should win the match easily and i am expecting over 2.5 goals in this match.

Real Madrid lost 2 points again tonight by drawing against Athletic club. That's just 3 points out of a possible 9 in the last 3 games. It looks like the effect of Marcelo's and Eden's absence is beginning to show up. Goals have been hard to come by lately for them

Good point. I haven't watched their game today, but it's not common to see goalless Real Madrid in two games in a row. And in last 3 games they scored just 1 goal.
It was last La Liga game in 2019. Now there is 2 weeks break. Players will be able to get some rest, recover from minor injuries and celebrate Christmas with their families.
