Girona started with a goal in the very opening of the game but now Atletico equalized the game.This is the title race game as if Girona does not win this then serious problems will be keeping up to win every game and fight against Real Madrid.Speaking of Real Madrid they won their game but the problem was that they had quite some difficulties to win this game and in the first half they ended 0-0 showing serious scoring problems for them.Of course Mallorca kept defending as they have this philosophy that every single point counts and against big teams I have seen them using the same tactic,keep defending and defending.

Even though in the H2H Atletico Madrid dominated the victory over Girona, this cannot be used as an excuse because this season Girona appeared with different strengths and was full of surprises. This is the game that's most important for Girona because Real Madrid won Mallorca 1-0 and its the entire decision for Girona to win their Atletico Madrid if they want to continue topping the table. I really missed Laliga football these past two weeks. Today has been a treat, starting from the Granada game, to Real Madrid and now Girona vs Atletico.

Girona have been looking very strong, and I easily see them scoring another goal or two in the second half, but so can Atletico, they got so much talent that can strike at any time. Girona will need to win to stay close to Real after their narrow victory earlier.

I was surprised to see that Real Madrid could not score so many goals against Mallorca, and even struggled to score the winning goal in the 78th minute. I didn't expect that Mallorca would be a tough opponent for Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu. With the 1-0 win against Mallorca today, Real Madrid is topping Girona with 3 points, but if Girona wins against Atletico Madrid they will be on equal points with Real Madrid.

I was only checking scores of the game since I had a real Madrid selection on about 2 acca slips only to see a goalless first half which prompted me to watch the game myself. The second half was interesting even though Real Madrid struggle very hard to get a goal and it was forthcoming before that Rudiger nodding from Modric's delivery.

That aside, seeing Girona leading Athletico Madrid is something I didn't expect. If they can go on to win, it will be a good feat

Truly, this was an impressive match from both teams. Girona led the first half with a 3-2 win over visiting team Atletico Madrid, but Atletico Madrid could have equalized the score at 3-3 had VAR and the referee not ruled it out. Damn Girona is playing a really good game, but they are messy in their defense and I think this could be one of their weaknesses when we look back at the end of the season. Of all those first seven teams in La Liga, Girona is the team with the most goals conceded and this is a pity as they are playing such an attractive offensive football. It is fun to watch them and how they keep going and raise the pressure further and further. The three goals are well played, they earned these three goals through hard work, but they do lose focus on their defense while attacking and Atletico is one of the teams that knows best how to play perfect counter attacks.

Guys, Girona has finally given into the pressure of Atlético Madrid. Since the start of the first half, Athletico Madrid has been probing Giron's defense and had about 5 chances in the first 5 minutes.
