Messi is very important to them but it seems that his absence is not the only reason for the poor results.
They spent a lot of energy and time on Neymar, angering many of their players, like Rakitic for example, and now they have a lot of disgruntled players and a bad team atmosphere.
I totally agree with you. There is so much discussion about Neymar and his transfer and the worst part is that every week the media indicates different players for an exchange transfer. Rakitic is one player and that's totally bad for his mentality. Yes, it's true that Barcelona started the league less well. Unlike Barcelona in general, they must rise again. Neymar transfers do not take place, so all Barcelona related parties can focus back on la Liga, they must rise and start with positive results. |

Yes, it's true that Barcelona started the league less well. Unlike Barcelona in general, they must rise again. Neymar transfers do not take place, so all Barcelona related parties can focus back on la Liga, they must rise and start with positive results.
The team has to guard against complacency. After eight laliga titles in eleven years, it's very easy to lose focus and take victories for granted. Atletico Madrid are also strong contenders after their perfect start to the new season. The season still has a long way to go and there would still be lots of changes at the top of the table |

Barcelona struggles are normal and since the season has just started I would not panic, I’ll simply trust them to bring their differences out in the open and then as a team solve it. Messi’s absense is definitely hurting them, but once he’s back he’ll be able to rally everyone around him we just need to patient till then. Atletico Madrid have started brilliantly, and if they continue playing like this then they can definitely challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga title. |

I do not know how this players cope knowing their team is trying to ship them out to get a player in exchange, it really must be hard to swallow, but on a second thought, it all could be rumors and the players may be well aware of it. Rakitic has been good for Barcelona since his arrival, not the sort of Xavi or Iniesta kind of player, but be has contributed his own quota to Barcelona's success since his arrival. Barcelona seem to have big problems at the start of the league.
I do not think there is any cause for alarm as of yet, Barcelona would definitely get back right on track and compete for the title, but they must be careful not to drift too far away from those at the summit, else it might be difficult to close up the points between them. |

It is true that Barcelona doesn't want him. But if he doesn't take any matches on his feet then he cannot be sold neither to a bigger club nor with a good price. Barcelona treats his instance so bad leading to a lose-lose situation both for the club and Rakitic. |

The league would be interesting (as it has always been) regardless of which teams are at the summit of the table. After humiliating exits from the champions league, I would agree that Barcelona and Madrid need to bounce back this season. Also Atletico would have to become serious contenders which they were a couple of years ago. |

Like we saw in the English premier league some seasons ago Leicester City won the prestigious league yes laliga is more of a two team race but if the few matches so far are to be put into consideration the two top dogs has had there troubles atletico Madrid has so far three wins out of three but has not be brilliantly impressive in those games. But there won't be an upset the trophy would go to either Barcelona or Real Madrid |

Real and Barca are under performing at this moment however I do not think it's going to continue the same. Big teams, they know they still have a long way to go. They will sort themselves. It's clear with Barca that without Messi they are a very average team. Real needs to find it's weakness too and need to work in it. |

Better stick to the Premier league if that's what you are hoping to happen in La Liga. Unless some of these smaller team gets crazy rich owners, don't expect them to challenge the top teams for the title. Just take a look at what happened to Man City. |

For Leicester, it was a one time thing and the EPL's top teams where way so poor that season, In fact if Arsenal had been serious, they would have won the title easily that season. Under Diego Simeone, ATM are very capable of winning it again if they show consistency. They have already taken advantage of Barcelona's and Real Madrid's slip ups and all they have to do it maintain the momentum. |

Yup. Barca and Madrid are out of their best form now. This season is probably one of the best chance for another team to win the league. Imagine how Griezmann will feel if his previous team win the league after he left. Maybe not as bad as Coutinho but it sucks to face that reality. |

Better stick to the Premier league if that's what you are hoping to happen in La Liga. Unless some of these smaller team gets crazy rich owners, don't expect them to challenge the top teams for the title. Just take a look at what happened to Man City. La Liga is also competitive (yet not so much as they Premier League) but it is. There are 3-4 teams that can challenge the title. The problem is that Real and Barcelona has a great popularity internaitionally so all the key players want to joing those two teams. Hence, this leads to a competitive advantage to them. |
