Entering 2022, the performance of Xavi's team has improved rapidly, Xavi managed to become the tactician that Barca wanted, sacked Ronald Koeman and replaced Xavi as a tactician, the decision was very appropriate, although at the beginning of Xavi's arrival he failed but slowly Xavi was able to bring Barca back to be feared by his opponents, a fantastic victory is proof that Xavi is a great tactician, I really believe Xavi is able to bring Barca to 2nd place in the standings at the end of the season.

Barcelona was 12 points behind Real madrid when Xavi came on board and with a very slow and steady progress Xavi was able to push the club to the third position. The point difference between them is only three points even though Barcelona still haven't played their missing game. And this gives the signals of Barcelona to get past them in the standings sooner or later. By the way, these two teams are going to face each other next time in the league in Camp Nou too. It's going to be really interesting. 

Yes it's possible that Barcelona can take 2nd place but that doesn't mean anything nothing special between 2nd and 3rd place both of them get UCL tickets

It's true and I think this is a great achievement from Xavi so far because he has managed to break Barcelona vs Real Madrid's bad record in the last few seasons. Maybe it's too early to say a new era of glory for Barcelona has started with Xavi, but for me Barcelona is now more stable than ever where the players have a strong vision of the game to win match.

For this season Barcelona do not have many chances to win the La Liga title because the points difference is very far from Real Madrid. Finishing the season in second place is much more likely for Barcelona and indeed Barcelona's target this season is to qualify for the Champions League next season. Kudos to Xavi and Barcelona.

Despite that things we've interesting fact. Barca were 12 points behind Real Madrid before Xavi was named as Barca coach, and he brought in some great young talents, won some couple of good matches as well and won the El Classico yet Barca are still 12 points behind the Real Madrid. Barca are unbeaten 12 games up to this point, they should step up their standings at La Liga however must be lifting the trophy in the next season.

It is unlikely that they will finish in the top 4, I think they could even finish second. Sevilla have lost a lot of points in the last weeks and the team is not in very good shape, their motivation is quite low. On the other hand, Barcelona are playing in incredible form and never lose a match.
I think the biggest candidate to be the runner-up this year is Barcelona right now

I was lucky because I bet on Barcelona's win. the bookie gives bigger odds on Barcelona's victory because indeed they provide a chance of victory for Madrid. but I try to believe that the Barcelona revival is already done. Barcelona slowly proved the results of Xavi's training.

Real Madrid mowed my bet ticket, I place a bet on them to score a goal in the El Classico game. They couldn't provide a single goal, I was so shocked by the results I saw from Barcelona. I never imagined that Barcelona will beat team like real Madrid 0-4 this season. It was an impossible prediction for bettors, though I would say that unimaginable things happened in football. Even though real Madrid would have loss, they should have tried to score a goal at home. It was a big loss to both Madrid players and their coach, Carlo Ancelloti. I complement Xavi for a work well done for Barcelona.

Real Madrid defense was poor, every single defender for Real Madrid were tripping forward and were very poor tracking back to the defense line. I didn't understand why Luka Modric was playing in the attack. Carlo Ancelotti should have started Asensio in  the match to increase the attack.

We should say that Barcelona was a joke before him joining the team with a +10 rank. He made a quite good job making the team a lot better although Messi departure earlier.
I think the main objective of Barcelona this season is to get Europa League title and try to pick the second spot in La Liga. They will play next vs Sevilla which is a hard game. They have Sociedad, Betis and Villarreal matches that might be challenging too. Overall they could grab much points and wait for Real Madrid mistakes.

Isn't that obvious now if you look at the points gain.
They are currently Onfire and are in the race for 2nd place at the moment with Sevilla.
I personally feel they will finish in 2nd place this season even though the performance at the start of the season was very bad but they are in good hands now because having Xavi there puts them back where they belong

Much will depend not only on the sports component (where Barcelona is now successful), but also on the financial situation. I have not heard that Barcelona have somehow solved their problem with a huge debt, this may affect the club next season. Real Madrid will get Mbappe next season and maybe a few more players, so it's possible that Barcelona will fight for second place at the most.

I have to admit about Barcelona's recent improvement in form where they are unbeaten in 13 match in a row. It was a great thing for them because then they would now be even more feared. The Europa League title and qualifying for the Champions League next season are targets that will be pursued by Barcelona this season.

The defense and pressing system that Barcelona has so far is very good and also effective at making it difficult for opponents to create chances. I've barely missed any of their match during 2022 and I've enjoyed their play and form all along. But you are right, Barcelona at the start of the season was a joke.

They don't have to choose Europa League and sacrifice La Liga. It could be their best option weeks ago but now they currently have very good position in La Liga and they can get a direct ticket to Champions League by a good ending position in La Liga. It is true that they will want to win Europa League if possible but they will try to achieve both targets together. They are not ready to sacrifice one and choose another.

How did they solve their huge debt? Could you share source of news you read about it? I see Barcelona made a few smart transfers in the winter transfer but I also read news that they are not ready to join transfer competition with other giant clubs to get Haaland. Perhaps they are still in trouble with finance and don't want to make it worse by any big transfer in this period.
