I still remember how bad Barcelona played at the beginning of the season, Ronald Koeman seemed to have a hard time making Barcelona win
at that time. Moreover, this season Barcelona is playing without Messi, which Messi has had a big influence on Barcelona's game. But everything
changed when Xavi became Barcelona coach, slowly Barcelona started to achieve positive results, even as you said Barcelona's initial target this
season was to be in the top 4. But when Barcelona managed to beat Real Madrid with a big enough score, after that the confidence of Barcelona

I'm a Barca fan but even I don't understand what people are talking about Real disappointing the fans. They're top of the league, they've got to the semifinals (and were never favorites to even reach the quarterfinals).

Somehow, even if they miss out on UCL it won't be a let down, a small disappointment which is natural for any team at all, but they already exceeded expectations (I would say).

Fans may be disappointed with the previous El Clasico result where Barcelona managed to beat Real Madrid 0-4 without reply. It was such a prestigious match that every coach should win it despite the fact that the title is almost certain now.

Now Real Madrid have qualified for the semifinals after locking in a 5-4 aggregate victory in the second leg yesterday. A double winner is still possible for Real Madrid, but it really depends on Benzema's performance. Benzema was once again a Real Madrid hero against Chelsea last night, he struggled to score but he managed to do it in added time.

I think teams are allowed to lose every now and then, and in fact, probably better to build a big big cushion and allow some losses to even things out. Look at Bayern, winning almost everything and suddenly having loss of form, and knocked out of Champions League even. I think Real can afford such things, no team can win many titles without dropping form and I'd rather drop points to Barca in El Clasico with a new experiment and new players/tactics, which is what Ancelotti tried. Anyway, City-Real it is.

Atletico madrid and Real Betis still have a chance to appear in the Champions League. The difference of one point makes Atletico and Betis have to fight hard in the remaining matches. 7 more games to go well, but if you look at the games remaining for these two teams, Atletico are more favored than Betis. After seeing the match with Man City, Atletico are more suited to appear in the UCL, but Betis can also pose a threat to Atletico that will make them fail to appear in the Champions League a next season.

The way Barcelona is playing under Xavi is really making many fans wish the club should call Ronald koeman and sack him again because he really made the team looked very bad. He actually made almost everyone believed that even if the club sign him the best players, they will still need years to be good. It didn't take Xavi more than 5 months to turn around the fortune of Barcelona this season. With Koeman, it looked like they were going to be fighting to stay off relegation zone but now they are in a position where they can still win the league mathematically if Madrid slips.

Maybe it is just me, but wagering AGAINST Barcelona right now with a martingale rule could be actually quite worthy. They have been winning in la liga for too many games in a row right now and I have a feeling that eventually they will lose.

It means that even if it is not the next game, they may lose just one and if you do martingale until they lose, you may get something good in return. Obviously the downside is that they may never lose another game until the season is over, which would be awesome for Barcelona but I just feel like that is unlikely to see. I won't do it, I just do not have the courage enough to do this, but I wonder what would happen if someone tried it.

However, I think that to determine the title this season, Real Madrid has a very big chance because there are only 7 games remaining and Barcelona's point gap is 12 points. I think Real Madrid is impossible to catch anymore.

Betis have started to improve their effort again and they haven't been losing any game in the La Liga for four weeks. They were just hoping for one of the three teams right in front of them in the league standings to make a mistake. And Atletico Madrid were that team to make that. They lost to Mallorca and Betis are only one point behind them now. Betis have had a very solid season so far and they are also one of the deserving teams for qualifying for the Champions League. We might see a tough fight between these two teams for it.

Since when Real Betis got kicked out of the Europe League. I observed that their improved their performance in the La Liga, and haven't lost any of their League games since then. If they probably continue to win in their upcoming matches, they will be lucky enough to slide into the top 4. Because, their closest rival, Atletico Madrid are quite unstable lately. I have this feeling that Betis will surely overtake Atletico on the standings. They just have to play more consistently.

The Real Betis Vs Real Sociedad game is going to be dicey; I expects fireworks and lots of talking points. Betis seems to be in a form of their lives lately and their statistics are good. I honestly think Real Betis need to be careful you know they are only 3 points ahead of Real Sociedad as things stand at moment and Sociedad can be difficult team to play against.

With a fairly hectic schedule now and considering the opponents they face at the moment of course something like this still has the possibility to happen especially as you said, Madrid still have a large enough dependence on Benzema which makes it seem like a ticking time bomb now. Luckily Benzema is currently very Onfire but if he has problems in productivity or is required to take a moment like an injury some time ago of course this will be very detrimental to them.
Even so this season is only a few games away and they have to start by looking for alternatives for next season because things like this should not be allowed to drag on.

After the crushing defeat to Barcelona in the El Clasico match then I think Real Madrid will still lose some other points during this season especially when they play against more balanced opponents. Sevilla are a good team, so I think they can steal points from Real Madrid this weekend.

Why did you rule out Barcelona if you think Sevilla will be having hard times in making it to the Champions League? They both share the same points(60). Sevilla next meet is with Real Madrid and it's certain that Sevilla will loose to them, the same goes for Barcelona. Frankfurt and Barcelona doesn't have much history but their last match was horrible, I didn't expect Barcelona to draw and settled for 1-1. By next week, things will become more clearer.

Sevilla vs Real Madrid seems to be the most interesting game on this week. Real Madrid are favoured to win maybe but their odd is higher than 2.00 now.
