Jucelu scored from the penalty spot to equalize for Espanyol. In the end, both teams could not score any more goals. Showed a total of 15 yellow cards in the match and two turned into red cards as well. Barca coach Xavi also sees a yellow card. Despite losing points in this match, Barcelona is at the top of the points table.

From 2015 Jordi Alba never got a red card but today he get it, it's really pain for him after so long to be clean of the red card in La Liga. Barcelona, although currently at the top of the table, are threatened by Real Madrid, they are also on the same point. Is it possible that Barcelona will fail to win the title again this season? but I hope Xavi has to think of a way for Barcelona to win titles with his current dream squad.

Real Sociedad 2 - 0 Osasuna

Until some time ago Real Sociedad were going through a bad phase that I even thought that they would be in lower places in the table this season, for example for today's game I didn't expect them to win without conceding a goal, but they showed that they are improving in each game, coming from a victory for this game, with this victory they already have 2 consecutive victories, this is a result that raises the morale of the team, while for Osasuna with this defeat they already have 2 consecutive defeats and are in a position which is not very important, but given the fact that they are not competing to be in a position of access to European competitions I think that this current position is not a big concern for the club

it was a very surprising game because Valencia scored a goal very early and it really looked like they came into this game determined to win the game, but Valencia's statistics in the last 5 games make me less confident that they could hold on to this result and win this game, being that Villarreal in the last 5 games has been showing a lot of improvement, so I was hoping for a draw, but Villarreal made more than a draw, they managed to win the game

In a weird match when 15 cards were delivered to a referee, red card is unavoidable. The red card impacted Barcelona and even they had a first goal to take a lead, they let Espanoy to score the equalizer. This draw is similar to a defeat for Barcelona and they lost a small gap with Real Madrid.

It all depends on how the harmony in both teams will be going to the end of the season.I can personally see that Barcelona has nothing less than Real Madrid during this season and I think the season will be decided by which team will have the best consistency,for me Barcelona has a better odd here because they will be playing in Europa League which intensity and quality level of their opponents is less than that of the opponents of Real Madrid in the Champions League.

I agree that Xavi has more work to do until he fully harmonizes the team but he has started as they say with the right foot and I see him only improving further this Barcelona team.

Barcelona has also dropped points today and is now on the same points as Real Madrid, but they are top of the Laliga table with a goal difference. I believe Xavi's side had the opportunity to keep the lead with two points difference above Real Madrid at the end of 2022, but they failed to do so. I don't feel barcelona have great problems, maybe in January they need to sell some players they are not using often, players that are not important to them, and they can use the money they will make after selling them to buy the players they need, good midfielders especially. But barcelona have done very well in the La Liga so far, they are top of the table going into the new year, i don't think their problems is so great, Xavi just has to fix a few things and they can then win the La Liga from real madrid.

Valladolid really demonstrated well in the first half that made the first half to ended up draw, because their defenders was so strong for Real Madrid strikers to achieve a single goal in the first half. Despite, Real Madrid defeated Valladolid 2-0 to achieved the three points from match, many people were not happy for the two goals they achieved from Valladolid with the red card they got from the match, which is an opportunity for Real Madrid to achieve 3 or 4 goals to prove that they are well prepared to win this title than to manage to scored two goals.

It was nice to see Benzema make 2 goals. After missing the World Cup he performed well. It looks like he wants to show Deschams that he was wrong for not calling him up during the final against Argentina.
Thibaut Courtois also performed well, he held off several kicks that led to the goal. I saw Valladolid had two golden chances but Thibaut Courtois was able to thwart it. While Madrid leads the Table, but the gap with Barcelona is only one point. Maybe they will be displaced, because Barcelona will be against Espanyol.

Exciting comeback by Karim Benzema in this match because mostly fans were not expecting his comeback in this match but not even he joined his team, but his performance was also at his best which is bringing new energy into Real Madrid fans and their squad for the another title race in both leagues specially now their main target is Champions League where they are going to face Liverpool which is also having the best return in EPL after break with two back to back wins.
 
But things are also exciting in Real Madrid after their first win after break, and now they are level in points with rival Barcelona which is suffered draw at home against Espanyol even after having early lead in the match. Now all heated up with the amazing entry of Karim Benzema in this match against Valladolid and his two super goals which are now having good impact on Real Madrid and their opponents in rest of the season.

Modric and Tchouameni were rested for this game, Kroos was placed in the middle and flanked by Cebalos who stepped up to the position of attacking midfielder with Valverde. I also like seeing Asesncio there because it's a good thing for him not to leave given the chance to play.
I think it's still good enough for Madrid now even though some players have been tried for new positions and some have been rested but this is still a pretty good thing.

Luka Modric really needs to rest in the current match, considering that next week's match Real Madrid must face Villarreal. We know that Real Madrid had a little trouble against Villarreal, they are a formidable squad.

Valverde did play in his position, in previous matches he played on the right wing position, or as a new position. But Valverde can play well in the attacking position. Toni Kroos is the only playmaker, while Valverde will play as a forward despite Asensio.

Yes, I like Marco Asensio, he is a good winger, but at the moment he is rarely playing because he has to be replaced with Valverde and Rodrygo.

It seems to me that Real Madrid are currently short on midfielders noticing that Luka Modric is getting old, and Toni Kroos is also approaching 33 years old. Meanwhile, Aurelien Tchouameni has not been able to organize attacks like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Actually it's just a matter of time I think. regardless of the current condition of Modric and Kroos, the Regeneration carried out by Ancelotti is actually very good. There are Camavinga, Tchouameni and Valverde who are actually one of the good prospects even though right now they still can't be compared to Kroos and Modric but I think they will be able to find their best performance later. It's only a matter of time for these youngsters to develop their match.

What's more, Barcelona's competition in the European League is still very doubtful even with a squad like now, but in reality Barcelona's performance is sometimes still weak at several points.

So yes, even though Barcelona are still top of the table right now even though they only got a draw meanwhile Real Madrid won with a good score of 2-0. So Barcelona's position will still not be safe, because Barcelona and Real Madrid's points are currently the same, only the number of goals keeps Barcelona at the top of the standings.
But for the next match Barcelona and Real Madrid will play against strong teams, so I think in that match they will probably drop points. But considering Barcelona's performance as it is now, I personally believe Real Madrid will be able to take over the top position of the La Liga standings through the next match.

Those barcelona players and its fans were underestimating espanyol. As far as i know that espanyol has a very good record in the history to be draw with barcelona and it has proven now. Real madrid has same point like barcelona but real was only losing in the total goals against barcelona. it's not a problem as long as real madrid has been getting the same score with barcelona and real madrid can surpass it anytime to take the first place again from the barcelona.
I don't know why people didn't even take a look back again to the history of espanyol. Barcelona might be always dominating the match against espanyol but espanyol itself has a great record to play draw against barcelona.

even though in this match they are very favorite in any case but it is very unfortunate that with a squad that can be said to be the best for them with Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ansu Fati in attack they were only able to get one point in this match.
there were lots of unnecessary fouls and 1 point and Alba's red card in this match was a loss for them.
