The boy made a good decision by leaving Manchester City and going to Athletico Madrid because he is still young, Guadiola has many players that he prefers over Alvarez, and the boy does not have enough time to play on the pitch; now that he has moved to Athletico Madrid, he will have more opportunities to play on the pitch because Morata is no longer with the club, and Athletico Madrid will be stronger by acquiring young talented players. Alvarez was used by Guardiola as a substitute. Alvarez did not get a place in Manchester City's starting XI. There is no denying that Alvarez's performance was good enough. But with Guardiola now having players as talented as Haaland, I don't see any chance of Alvarez getting a place in Manchester City's starting XI next season.
