I really only care about ETH 2.0 event, but they are still quite vague about this issue. It made me rather skeptical about their progress.
I'm afraid they still need more than 2-3 years to complete their ideas. Therefore, if we intend to hold a coin for long, then I recommend that we invest in ETH.

The recent positive climate on the top altcoins is limited to the Etherum and few other altcoins. Price recovery can take a few years if the ETH can't pass the next price accumulation stations in my opinion. $300 looks more realistic than dreaming about the x10 times recovery. My realistic expectation is around the $ 700 which Ethereum can hit in 2 years. I actually longed ETH in the $168 area because if you look at the weekly chart for ETHUSD you can see it was support, followed by strong resistance and then it broke it. Unfortunately I was waiting for some confirmation to add more contracts but only got a small position going before it shot up.

We all like to see ETH to rise more, but at this stage, I'd rather be conservative because I saw the struggle of ETH.
Things might be different now and onward as the longer this market exist, people are more matured also, honestly, I would be very happy if ETH will again reach $1000 which it needs to rise couple more times from its current price now of only $198 only.

Actually I will be surprise if that will happen in short term, next year is halving and probably the release of ETH 2.0, if the market goes like the last bull run, then I think we might see a new high of ETH but $4K is less likely.

being realistic is indeed very necessary. we will only be surprised when what we hope for never happens. well, for now, that the current price of ETH is so far from the price of $ 4000. so I think, like any ETH development, it might be very difficult to reach the price of $ 4000.

It is very difficult to predict anything in this market.  However, observing the market carefully before investing, at the right time is always a difficult question to answer.  ETH is a money worth investing in the long term but it all depends on your level of knowledge ability, do not keep seeing its price increase but invest.  Nothing is for sure.

After bitcoin halving in 2020 don't be surprised if ETH hits 4000$ before 2021,this are the reasons why i think its possible

1. The teams are willing to try out new things with the project,many projects that have already achieved what ETH have ends up surrendering but ETH teams are not showing sign of stopping

2. I cant say more about the ETH2.0 upgrade but the POS implementation will make it worthwhile,the reason why i invested in some POS coins is to use the gains to sustain and get many daily needs till the day when holding them will pay off big,the POS will make many investors want to hold ETH for long term ultimately will leads to more adoption

I really appreciate your spirit towards Ethereum, I am also a fan of Ethereum. But let's be realistic, ETH's ATH is only $ 1k4, when there are many investors putting money into it to push the price of coins.
but only relying on the fact that Pos of ETH was born to value x20 is really unreasonable.
If ETH 2.0 is successful, I just hope the value of ETH will return to ATH or slightly lower, the market needs logic.

I say never say never in crypto. The OP clearly stated two reasons for his price prediction. If ethereum team can break through with the upgrade and other proposed implementations to the blockchain, I don't see why there won't be any significant impact on the price growth. Keep in mind that ethereum still more developers than these new generation altcoins. Let's give it some time.

According to OP's assumption, that is actually the target for him, if Ethereum reaches that $4k, I see no reason why investors should still be holding the coin when they must have had enough profit as increase on their investment, so if people take their money at that $4k, I would not see it as a crime because many of these people have actually been patient enough for it all these while and I believe that there is possibility of Ethereum actually getting to that value in the next bull run for most altcoins which I can see that it is fast approaching already as bitcoin is already trying to move sideways for altcoin to rise. The moment that bitcoin tries to go through sideways, some altcoin will be the one to kick start the ceremony first.

Actually now the price of Eth is reduced due to some negative raise in the bitcoin price. Mostly the price of altcoin is depends on bitcoin  and now the price of Bitcoin is reduced 1000$ more,So probably the price of Ethereum will tend to reduce further more.But can't predict the market now.

Of course, these reasons are valid for the rise of ethereum, but I think 4000 seems a bit utopian, but it could reach $ 1000, why not? I'm very bullish about Ethereum, I always defend Ethereum every time people here had a fuds ir negative post about it, great things are on the way for Ethereum, the current price is understandable because of the market condition, it's not only Ethereum all the other coins are experiencing this slip in price, people should not single out Eth.

Agree, that reason is very promising in the future ethereum will hit a high value, but to hit $4000 in a year I'm not sure that will happen, despite a benchmark of what happens to bitcoin because it reduces in half, at least ethereum will do a long resistance, because when bitcoin is still very influencing market movements it will be difficult for ethereum to move on its own to reach the highest value.
