Debit and credit transactions can be reversed for months, with the merchant losing almost every time. After 3 confirms your golden, so waiting 30 minutes is not a bad deal. (Even after 1 confirm it is still a million times more secure than any credit or debit transaction imo)
Not sure where this went with regards to mining or mining hardware, but w/e

I'm not even sure why it's three confirmations- I've virtually never seen a double spend with more than one, and it's also very difficult to pull off. The point is that it's incredibly secure, the main reason why I use Bitcoin for most of my digital transactions.

Another reason Bitcoin will not work for the masses, send your coin to a scam or wrong address...you can not get it back..GONE forever!!!! I'll stick with my old fangled bullshit credit cards Oh & wallet hacked or lost?? Again gone forever!!! Gotta be a PC guru to backup BTC wallets & if your dumb enough to use an online wallet service...it'll be hacked eventually BTW,confirmation times are getting longer not shorter, you'd think with all the hashrate getting added everyday it would speed up transaction times.....nope Bitcoin has it's place...in the dark dankest part of the internet & for nerds & hackers & thirdworld countries with crap rulers

I have looked everywhere for the past month on trying to find a recovery image for 23 of my SP10 miners i got from a storage locker purchase. 1 of the miners connected luckly because they had that one on dhcp but other im at a loss for others. I have 5 s2's and love the reset options they have but with these sp10's i guess i need an sd card to reset the ip they previously set and they didnt sticker on the box. I am not sure and havent found any documentation on if i purchase a usb wifi adapter if it will over ride the static address they assigned to each device or not? If no one has a image for these or a way to reset the network card on these is there a way to make the image from an operating sp10? I did find the github link https://github.com/Spondoolies-Tech and downloaded every there but im not sure on how to make the actual partitions for a proper recovery. If anyone knows how to turn a raspi into the controller or any other way to acutally use the mining boards please let me know. I know these are very dated but any help will help.

I tried to use angry ip scanner this morning and found one on 192.168.7.154 but the others im at a loss for since i scanned 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.100.254 so i really wish they didnt mess up the subnet mask. To use nmap will i have to change the ipv4 address class c network or will it just scan and change it on its own? Never used nmap but i have a feeling i will be learning here the next few days. Thank you for the quick reply.

I havent worked that much with these spondoolies but in the morning i will try and plug it into a cisco managed switch and look on the port interface and see if it will broadcast the mac of the device which in reality it should have one. Then check the arp table on the switch to see if it will broadcast the ip of one of the devices. My last hope would be wireshark and see if it sends off a broadcast on a bootup since when the ethernet cable is pluged into the ethernet port on the sp10 and directly into my laptop it blinks green and yellow so i know its sending packets.
I did notice tonight that on the right of the ethernet port there is a solid yellow light that is on for a little while on bootup and then goes away. Not sure if there is a blink code list or light list for these devices either since i cant find a manual for these but only for sp20 and up.

Maybe so,but WE have a chance at least to BUY GPUs,can't buy ASICS as easily, look at Bitmain, they just let folks buy a batch of miners & won't ship for a month or so LMAO!!!!!!! GPUs are scarce at the moment but if your quick to click, you can get em

resuscitating this thread for a sec. Guy was listed as a blockchain advisor for Bancor-they raised $159 mil in 2 hr, congrats! One controversy was that they had a hidden cap of 250 thou ethers, but summoned this cap by sending a tx which got stuck, so they overshot the mark quite a bit. While it is good for those extras who got in, but might be considered as an unnecessary dilution from a point if view of those who got in as intended (by 250 thou or about 2hr). I am curious, Guy, who came up with an idea to use just 100 Gwei price for that pivotal tx? It seems that it was almost designed to get stuck just a little . It wouldn't if Bancor would have given it more juice (200 or even 1000 Gwei-a 1000 would still cost less than $100 for that stopping tx. Mind you, i don't really care, but some people are talking harshly about this mishap. Comments?

I helped them a bit along the way, but I'm not really part of the team. Nothing was offered to me, I didn't ask anything and I'm not expecting anything. I am always helping when asked, it's a conscious decision I made awhile back. I know the team, they have many years experience in various startups and I'm sure they will deliver great product and great platform. I don't know the answer to the specific question, I think it was designed to allow more "democratic" and fairness for small participants vs other ICOs.

Ah, well, thanks. Maybe, they should have asked more of your advice. It (bancor) is being criticized, justly or unjustly. Good luck with whatever you do these days.
