Bah!

Unmineable POS coin pump and dump.

That was my first impression too, but I believe that the proposed Spectre protocol for Bitcoin is completely different from the new cryptocurrency SPECTRE based on Shadowcash.

Correct. There is no relation between the two

I need help guys  Roll Eyes

My SP20 isn't mining. most of the times I see "The miner is not running or waiting for pool connection." ... sometimes it mines for less then a minute and then hashrate drops to 0. I've used sdcard recovery multiple times. rebooted the unit, my router, and also power cycled but nothing has worked.

I'm just not sure if this is something that I can fix by changing settings and or a controller issue  Huh I've tried different pools and the issue remains. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW; I'm using a 750W PSU. Also, I've changed lan wire, pcie cables with no effect.

You are using a NEW SD card right....? with my knc titan just reformatting the old one does not take sometimes ..I go thru this about 1x a year is about how long an SD card lasts more or less on my knc titan.
anyway sounds similar..just asking ..you probably are using a new SD class 10 (i use 8gb sandisk)

I've also heard the cards get loose on those beasts and have had guys I know with them run them on there sides. Also I know a guy who got a bunch of used ones to re-sell and he had to
go in and repaste all the chips and clean.

Anyway hope it helps (out here in the bleachers with an knc titan..but stuff in passing above I've heard or in my case)

It's (sd) an old one, but I don't think the issue lies within sdcard. I can recover using sdcard without any issues. I can easily see the web interface of miner and notice the difference in firmware. The issue is somewhere else. it tries to mine for a few seconds and then stops with the above error.

It keeps on repeating this thing no matter how long I run it. I've left it running overnight and the result was same. tried different firmware version without any luck. could be controller (I'm not too sure)... I think I'm looking for a way to make sure it's not the controller that has gone bad.

I think I'm interesting in cleaning the chips. It's just that I'm a noob in mining (miners) and don't know how to do that  Cry

Pm me I know a guy on repaste. Not that hard to do. But on titans I do have to change
To new sds no idea why but sometimes or most in my case on an sd redo it has to be new

Then again titans are evil beasts 🤔

I've done some research and it looks like one of the controller ports is faulty.
I've asked for a replacement. hopefully, that will fix it. Thanks for your help though.

Not meaning to thread-crap, but Guy offered to help (he remains the most helpful person in the crypto community, btw). Thanks to the whole Spondoolies crew for building the SP30 and SP20. My impression has been that second-hand demand for them is still high, even today.

I run HashPlex, a mining company in Quincy, WA. We're looking for an M&A partner to get to scale (we're sorta stuck at 1MW with 7+ on tap). Everything we've built was custom-designed and built from the ground up (no retrofit jankery) with top-shelf new equipment (SquareD I-Line, etc.). The evap system consumes 8000 gallons of water in 12 hours and drops intake temps 25F. 100A / phase, 3-phase, switched, fused, current logging PDUs. 650,000 CFM of filtered air per MW. $0.025 / kw-hr all-in through 15MW. Lots more.

If you're interested in scooping up a datacenter for pennies on the dollar or working out a long-term lease etc. get in touch. We'll probably close a deal in the next couple months.

Some mining pr0n to make things more fun:

Hey Guy!

Please post how you arrived at "15% power savings". What are the components of the practical loss versus theoretical gain? How much worse is the highest achievable overclock or lowest achievable undervolt? How much worse is the useable manufacturing yield?

Edit:

One more question I forgot: would ASICBOOST require additional testing circuitry on the chip? Raw Bitcoin mining is essentially self-testing.
