ask this question before - what is the unique feature of qora making it so special? - I know it is written from scratch

I tested the client and pretty much liked it.

Currently it is variable block sizes and times as well as the build in "password generator" aka seed.
I think this makes QORA more secure in comparison to NXT.

I'm not completly sure how it works, but the seed seems to be a sort of cold storage counterpart to a hot storage private key.

So, no thoughts about weekly amounts of givaway? 200, 500, 1000 coins?

I like the idea of having a fixed weekly amount split between all participants. This amount can change each week.

I probably wouldn't take part in such giveaway. I would want to know how much exactly I get.

Yes, spread as much as possible to the community off course!
I'd say, if you can afford 1000 - go for it!

I really think that talking about price at this point is not as important and working together to build a great crypto.

We should be building the documentation (suggesting new features), client, providing peers to Qora, and getting marketing ready for future, etc...
I am really shocked to see so much talent on these forums and yet no cross-chain multi-crypto enabled wallet.
The price will adjust accordingly to a higher price.

Who is organizing a committee for building the community and development?

Regards

I'm more worried that the focus of this thread is currently on the price.

I agree with everything you said, just wanted to comment on this one. We don't usually talk about price but when someone like Secondleo shows up and trying to convince everybody that Qora is overpriced of course we stand up for it. Especially if they just post lots of bullshit.

I'm giving an informed opinion.
Every data I provided is correct and can be verified.

Your behaviour resembles those I saw from cheerleaders surrounding the free giveaway coins.
I own Qora. Higher prices are good for me.

Cancelling a valid opinion as bullshit does not speak high of you as a person and hurts the coin in general.

To jibble:
I used the numbers from the DGEX market graph. How could they not be correct?
And the sale down to 50 sat was after it went up to 200.

I pointed out all your mistakes, what are you talking about? Nxt price never dropped after it went to new exchanges. And of course its price wasn't ever as low as a week after the launch. That's where we are - 1 week after the launch, 1 day after adding to first exchange. The price will never be as low as now.

How your point is valid in any way? It's just a bunch of crap.

You yourself should do, what you expect from me.
Read carefully, I corrected myself.
I meant exchange, singular, meaning DGEX.
The price rose from a starting 100-300 up to 1200-1500 and then went back to around 300-500 in a period of about 2 weeks.

I know the price rose massive when it went on Bter, it was a good day.

Also, in comparison to NXT the price of QORA was initially a lot higher. (Initially meaning the off exchange time)
During the current phase, as QORA is on its first exchange, the price is in a compareable general area.

Yes, the price is doesn't matter at this moment.
We should setup more nodes and build a wiki of qora.

Everything recorded and open to observe.

To secondleo:

you said that 1 week after the rise to 10000 sat it went down to 3000 sat.

using the chart you showed me, which is the same chart i have been using to correct you with shows exactly what i said and not what you said.

2013-12-26 shows the 10k+ mark , lets look what price it is 1 week after this .........(just using the same chart you just showed me) oh look between 9000-7000 satoshi, when does it reach the 3000 satoshi mark you speak of? 2 weeks late, giving it a total of 3 weeks.

and considering you were using this piece of invalid information to show some sort of invalid point of the price falling from such a high level. 4 days later it returns back to the 10k satoshi mark.

next time you use something as evidence towards your argument , at least try to see if you can read it properly before talking bullshit

answer to how they could not be correct? because a dumb fuck looking at the chart has trouble telling the difference between his head and his ass

This is the first time I've experienced this problem... I delete the qora directory and create a new folder from the zip file.  I enter my seed and password.  My qora balance shows 0.  This never happened before. Now it's happened 3 times in a row.  Is this just me?

Correct, I made a mistake there.
The price went back to 3300 over the course of about 3 weeks.
Nevertheless, neither is the point false (it was not exact, I have to admit that) nor does it falsify the whole argument.
But anyway. That part of NXTs lifecycle is far in the future compared to what is currently happening around QORA. It was also never part of my original argument. Someone brought up the rise to 10000 sat (1000 in terms of QORA) to do what? I don't know, it's not relevant for the moment and it is also not going to happen for QORA, as there will be no artificial scarcity. (The exact same movement in price, not generally speaking QORA can't reach the 1000 sat mark)

Also, it is of no use to speculate that far in the future.
My original point was about what is going on right now.

And the original point was, that QORA is overprized right now (mind, not terrible, but it is) in my opinion.
Basis of this is the price development of NXT (which had a far less competitive enviroment).

But actually, what does it matter?
I assume you own a lot of QORA and feel pretty rich right now, not realizing that the market only offers 3BTC of buy orders on the way down to 50.

The point I was trying to make before I obviously tingled some over-sensitive and slightly nervous troll and FUD detectors, is about spread of the currency.

Someone tried to do so in the original trading thread (Come on, someone call me a sockpuppet of that guy), but some vocal people here have the opinion, that a higher price with slower adoption and spread is better for the coin.

It's all opinions though.

I think from the outside it looked a lot like trolls feeding trolls Cheesy

If I were to manage a project like this I would consider these high-level tasks and sub-tasks.

Here are my suggestions for Tasks/Sub-tasks. Priority would have to be assigned by task/sub-task and then communicated through a forum/online project excel file to begin with.

1. Infrastructure/Security
1.1 Develop Testnet
1.2 Security Review
1.3 Connectivity Review
1.4 Develop Peer Nodes
1.5 Bug reporting portal

2. Wallet Development/Mobile
2.1Deterministic Wallet (possible)/Client Windows-Mac-Linux (1 reference client - use all programming resources to build 1 reference client for the moment) Qora has begun this.
2.2 List Current Features and Future - Development plan (add social capability to wallet to invite friends/invite via sharethis or other plugin)
2.3 BIP32 Deterministic Key Generator http://bip32.org/
2.4 Developers Priority List/Status (Bounty List as needed)

3. Website Development
3.1 Features (Specifications), Wiki, Blog, Login (to Deterministic Wallet?), Affiliates, Social Media, Business (p2b), Developers, Merchants, Voting, About, Team
3.2 Graphics Design
3.3 Social Media Plugins to introduce friends (type of sharethis plugin)

4. Business Development
4.1 Affiliates p2p/p2b
4.2 Add Decentralized Autonomous Organization Registration/List Decentralized Autonomous Software Development
4.3 Referral Links
4.4 Local Qora Buying with mobile
4.5 Develop Business Model
4.6 Exhanges (already on sharexcoin.com)

5. Marketing
5.1 Gorilla (intro cards to hand out locally, organize physical meetups, contact redbull and sponsor a crazy event, etc..)
5.2 Video Marketing
5.3 SEO/SEM
5.4 Signatures on BTT/CCT (already begun)
5.5 Conference Speakers
5.6 Social Media
5.7 Games

6. Finances
6.1 Add a Treasurer/Backup
6.2 Allocate Funds for Bounties (etc..)
6.3 Vote on New Features
6.4 Transparent Payments of Expenses
6.5 List expenses (enable functionality that would add one seed that would get more POS than all others for a limited time...) and use blockchain to add detail.

Please add to the list and forward to everyone as needed.

It's all opinions though.

I think from the outside it looked a lot like trolls feeding trolls Cheesy

The point you were trying to make was trying to discern some sort of analytical study of Qora in the beginnings of its life on an exchange by comparing it to historical data of a similarly designed coin. I completely understand that.

but your evidence you were using for that argument was wrong, you can't just say "oh it wasn't false" you drew a conclusion based on the evidence you supplied. If the evidence you supplied isn't factual then how is the conclusion?

I don't own very much Qora , i invested a reasonably small amount and have sold a lot of it at cheap prices on the trading thread a few days after it was out. I have a vast a varied portfolio of coins, and only a certain percentage max in each. Most of my points i make on this forum are points of people using baseless information and treating it as fact and then coming to a conclusion based on those false facts.

Rofl there is no way you are a sock puppet of the account you mention. Althou from studying the offline and online times of him and this new "kora" account i would say there is a slightly increased % chance of those 2 accounts being connected. But no what he was doing was manipulating the market using completely factless arguments for the "problems" he created.

The worth of a coin is very subjective and many different things can influence its price. 1 major one being knowledge of prior costs. which the majority of people on this forum know, People outside of the forum not so much of a clue. Which is why the argument for a cheaper price is so strongly argued here. if this coin was placed on mintpal or poloniex , the majority wouldn't be debating over IPO price and current.

The argument that is constantly being had is completely null and void. this is a fully working crypto economy for the last 3+ years. onto of a society that has been functioning for tens of thousands of years.

People who refuse to sell below a certain rate, guess what happens? market is stale and people begin to sell for a lower price, they either slowly lower prices or sell into a buy wall. thus completing the distribution cycle . people saying that the distribution needs to happen now and fast are delusional.

This is the first time I've experienced this problem... I delete the qora directory and create a new folder from the zip file.  I enter my seed and password.  My qora balance shows 0.  This never happened before. Now it's happened 3 times in a row.  Is this just me?

edit your settings.ini file as: knownpeers 146.185.141.232;162.243.170.76;85.21.237.35;193.242.149.63;113.250.226.131
start run.bat.

Did it, still nothing.

It's useful! Thanks
