My money on the Jets at the ML was looking good heading into the 4th quarter with a 10 point lead I think Jets played an excellent 4th quarter, that was textbook tanking, you can't script it any better than this. Patriots were so bad all game long it took them 8min drive to the redzone only for Cam to slip on a 3rd and short and they had to kick a FG. What did the Jets do, 12 man on defense, automatic first down. (i knew at that moment they were going to lose). Patriots only got a FG. Next play, Flacco throws a deep bomb (as if they were down 10, instead of milking the clock) into double coverage, bam interception. Tie game, Jets with a chance to do something with less than 2min, Flacco gets sacked on a 2nd and short (that was Pats first of the game) And Cam's final pass to Meyers, Jets corner and safety intentionally left him wide open, there was no one near him, 5 yards clear... i'm not stressing about it as i got my 3-team parlay, but that was a bad look for the Jets, way too obvious i know they are bad but this was something else. Jags are still a threat @1-7...so better not compromise our perfect record. Yeah, they might as well draft Trevor Lawrence now and ship Darnell out of town, its inevitable at this point. That was a terrible breakdown as everything they needed to do to lose all happened. Cant see them winning a game from here on out. Will be on the short list to go 0-16 (if they finish the NFL season )

I agree but didn't want to say that they tanked in the last quarter to lose the game on purpose but I do believe that this does go on in sports so teams can get early draft picks which is BS for us bettors. Anyway I was happy they covered the spread as that's what I was more confident about.

Their careers are on the line, the players that screw up have a better chance of being cut or when they hit free agency not get picked up. Now if the coach put in the practice squad and not the 1s then yeah its tanking. I think they just suck that bad lol.

Their careers are on the line, the players that screw up have a better chance of being cut or when they hit free agency not get picked up. For the NYJ-NE game, I think this was a tanking job. It's not only about the players - where I agree they are not losing on purpose - but there are also the coaches, GM's and owners, who have their own agenda, which the players have to follow. (Coaches are also slaves of GM/owners in the end) As morvillz7z wrote, that bomb Flacco threw with no urgency at all - isn't there the possibility he had to do it, because he was told to do so ? What I can imagine, is that you play hard for three quarters to see how good you really are and further improve looking at the future and building a team. Jets showed themselves they are capable of beating NE, but to not lose the #1 pick, they tanked Q4 then. And this was ordered by GM/owners, where the coaches/players have no choice then but to follow, because the ones who pay have the final say. I know this a bold statement/theory, but it's what I would do, if I was super high on Trevor Lawrence as a GM/owner. He will fail at the Jets or the Jets will fail to develop him properly, but you have to try at least^^

The way the coach would tank would be to play 3rd stringers which they aren't, they are playing 1s and 2s. They are just a really bad team. Every year there are a couple of teams that battle for last place in every sport. Its not tanking its just they have a bad team.

They do, but with fielding 3rd stringers, you can't build a team and have a somewhat good foundation for when/if Lawrence arrives, it's not like this is their last season and they will cease operations afterwards. Obviously tanking is nothing the NFL, media and fans will accept, so you have to do it through the back-door. As for this Flacco pass, you don't tell him, "throw the ball deep into double coverage on next play", you just tell him, we don't want to win this game, take care of that. I always remember the "suck for Luck" season from the Colts some years ago. They had their last game @Jags and Jags were priced around 1.50-ish, which was huge value imo, because there was no way the Colts would win this - they just didn't want to, because they would have lost their #1 pick to the Rams then. Colts lost all their games until week 14, but they were always playing their starters iirc. Beginning week 15 it was safe to win some games and they finished 2-14 then. During all those games they built or kept alive a foundation, which would help Luck the next season. Winning against TEN and HOU in week15/16 showed that the team is still intact and the quality is there, they just didn't want to win before. They finished 11-5 next season. A team that is just plain bad, won't go from 2-14 to 11-5 just like that with a rookie QB. Now the Jets are way worse than the Colts have ever been, but you can't put a team full of scrubs and out of sync next to Lawrence. Then there is no need to even draft him.

There is no question that the Jets are actively trying to tank ( while trying to bring along Sam Darnold). If the Jets were actually trying to win they wouldn't have let there stud WRs walk ( Robby Anderson ) nor would they have released Leveon Bell. There's a reason they are letting 95 year old running back Frank Gore get the majority of the carries all year. They are all in on the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes ( and can you blame them).

He is a terrible coach und it surprises me he has a job!
Right now Gase’s job is to tank, he was brought obviously to improve the team and in that front he is terrible but if you want to tank there is no better coach in football, there are voices than want to fire him, but why? That will show the owners want a change in the direction the team has taken but a 0-16 season guarantees the first round pick and it seems that is what they want, however Lawrence has not declared himself eligible yet for the next draft and if he sees the NYJ are as bad as they are he may try to avoid them by remaining in college football or by pulling an Eli Manning. This is why it bothers me the win NE got over NYJ so much, NE was in the perfect position to lose that game and NE is now 3-5, does it make a difference? No, NE most likely will not make it to the playoffs so a 2-6 record was better than a 3-5, while I think that even with a loss there it would have been impossible to get the NYJ out of the first pick of the draft a loss there would have allowed NE to dream with a top 5 pick and to be on the race for Justin Fields and now it seems even that possibility is fading away.

I still think the Jets are tanking in their games and I do see why some think otherwise but if they do put in a second rate team then it would be too obvious and for sure we know they are tanking to lose games so they have to play like they are trying to win games with a full strength team but they can still tank to lose games. Seen it so many times in sports and of course the teams and coaches are always going to deny it.

Nobody tanks on purpose. Hey Joe go in and throw a pick isn't a conversation that happens sorry it just doesn't. Flaccos future is on the line, he isn't going to throw it away so the Jets can draft their future quarterback. The only way a team can tank is by putting subpar players on the field that you know can't compete at this level and win. The jets just suck simple as that. A lot of bad teams lose leads late because...they suck.

What do you guys have for today's TNF? I'm going with a prop bet this time Ryan Tannehill o1.5 passing TDs the Colts have a solid defense but I think he'll squeeze in at least two since he's 7-1 on that stat. Hopefully my luck on prop bets turns for the better and get a second win here. The jets just suck simple as that. A lot of bad teams lose leads late because...they suck.
Just like the Falcons. Edit : The Titans killed their chances with those brutal second half punts lol my prop bet could've hit too if it weren't for the Colts making penalties.

Holy cow, enough with the Jets talk already, literally the most debated team around here and that's wrong on so many levels. Hopefully my luck on prop bets turns for the better and get a second win here. Good luck with your pick, i wouldn't mind if Tannehill throws a few passes towards my guy C.Davis tonight. AFC South is meh division, these two play each other again later this month, if i have to chose i'd probably go with Titans to win even though they dropped two of the last three games. I watched Colts on Sunday, they couldn't put anything on offense, Rivers was bad, 25/43 1 interception and zero TDs. Under also looks good in my eyes (49.5) but i went with C.Davis 35+ receiving yards + Z.Pascal 25+ receiving yards.
One last thing, can we all agree that's the best interception you have ever seen? https://twitter.com/thesportsontap/status/1317958612581404672

@morvillz7z. Before game time, I would say agreed! hehehe. However, after knowing the result, I reckon this proves that the Colts defense is really one of the best in the NFL this year. I have read many punters doubting it in the beginning of the season.

I reckon this proves that the Colts defense is really one of the best in the NFL this year. I have read many punters doubting it in the beginning of the season. They are first in opponent yards per game, third in opponent points per game, and you got their special teams step up last night with blocked punt TD to basically win the game. Not bad but against a team like the Ravens they couldn't generate any offense, completely shut down, and with T. Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal being their primary wide outs i think it's going to be tough in the playoffs. <...>but i went with C.Davis 35+ receiving yards + Z.Pascal 25+ receiving yards. winner winner chicken dinner https://i.ibb.co/jDZdwnP/zfbdbf.png

Exactly. Players don't tank ( 99% of them anyway, we know that at some point players have been involved, but this is of course very rare) owners, general managers and coaches do. Normally it's more so just the owner and general manager who tank by not providing a competitive level of players for the coach to coach. If anyone is saying the players themselves are tanking, then they are fools.

If anyone is saying the players themselves are tanking, then they are fools. I think there is one scenario, when the players are actually likely to tank or not giving their best effort and that is when the coach has lost the locker room and players want to have him gone. This is maybe more common in soccer, but I wouldn't rule out that these things also exist in NFL. Probably no active tanking, but under the given circumstances you can't give 100% and you don't bother about it, you are just not motivated to go over the limit for that coach. I guess everyone knows this feeling from their own job at times. But you can never prove tanking anyway.....

Whats up with all those late games, only 5 early games Panthers ML @3.30 Carolina is a bit Jekyll and Hyde in regards to home/away performance. As said earlier, I like what the Panthers are doing recently and these odds are too high in a divisional matchup. You would expect the Bucs to bounce back big time in this one after getting humiliated by the Saints last week. With a gun to my head, I would pick TB, but 2.50-ish for Panthers would be more reasonable, so value for me at these odds I get. Seahawks ML @2.30 Had to check, if Wilson got sick over night, but nope, he is playing. Still undecided about the Rams this season, their last game/loss @Dolphins was a bit unlucky with basically nothing going their way. This will be their first real test after playing lots of mediocre teams lately and doing a bit so and so in these. I trust the Seahawks more to grind this out and would have expected the SEA odds to be lower than 2 max. Probably not a lot of value, but this will be a good game, so have to have some bet^^ Bengals ML @3.60 Steelers are due for a loss imo; they are winning, but it's not super convincing to me and the Bengals do very good for their standards imo. They lost a lot of close ones, which is kind of expected with a rookie at QB. This could be a blowout by the Steelers, but my gut feeling tells me, that CIN will be able to keep it close till the end. Big Ben has been cleared from Covid-list and will play tonight. - There are some other bets I like, but not sure, if I will play any of these: Giants ML @2.80, GB over 30.5 TT @1.91, Texans ML @2.75, Bills ML @2.15.

^Buccaneers have missing players at OL, Brady's protection vs Saints was pretty crap, don't think it will be any better today. I also read that they had their flight delayed for 7 hours but it's hard to pick against the them in this one, odds are nice though so gl!
my prop bet for this game: Bucs ml + Brown Anytime score+ Brady 2+ pass TD total odds 3.78
a few other bets that i have going today:
D.Jones 20+ rush yards + 1+ fumble lost total odds 2.20 (yes i will be watching the nfc least, rooting for Giants to win) D.Adams Anytime Score + A.Jones Anytime Score + A.Jones 55+ rush yards total odds 2.90 T.Lockett 50+ rec yards + Wilson 2+ pass TDs total odds 2.30 (i don't know if Seahawks can win with that swiss cheese defense, but Lockett is primed to have a good game)

I didn't have a bet on the Packers vs Jags game but man it made me sweat so hard since nearly everyone including myself had the Packers in all of my survivor pool entries.
I'm taking the Seahawks too, both teams lost their last match and Rams on a bye week if anything the odds should be close to 50-50.
For SNF i'm leaning on the Ravens o24 team total and the 1st half spread (-3). If the Jets manage to put up 27 I think the Ravens could do more.
