No.  But Justin Herbert might be better than both of them this year.

Yes.  I'd rather have Aaron stoned out of his gorge on weed, mushrooms, and mescal than a stone-cold sober Dak.  I don't know how Rodgers will do in NY, but normally I would put him higher than 9th.

I would be shocked if that was true and if you were a random person in the forum, the skeptical me would think that you are tricking us to pick Justin Herbert first over Joe Burrow and Josh Allen in our draft hehehehehee.

In any case, you might be right after the Chargers hired a new offensive coordinator and traded for some wide receivers who are said to like going deep on the field. There was also an interview with Herbert where he said that he would like to throw the ball deep more this year. This might also be one of the reasons not to put Ekeler very high in our rankings.

I am pretty late as this has been decided already but I am voting anyway yes to everything, except question 3 which is about using any veto against @seek3r and @yahoo62278 as they are both nice additions to the league and I am on favor of them joining the league.


About the playoff format I think that 6 teams making it to the playoffs is where the sweat spot is, if we keep the current format then it is likely the top spots could be monopolized by the good teams on the league 2 or even 3 weeks in before the end of the regular season, but allowing 8 teams will allow almost all teams to have a chance to get to the playoffs and this is undesirable as well, so 6 teams seems like the best choice as this will allow for even the last weeks to be exciting as a team or two are fighting for the last spot to the playoffs.

About the two payouts I agree, second place should also get a reward especially now that getting there is even harder with two additional teams.

About replacing the kicker I am against it, kickers are football players too.

About changing the waivers to reverse standings I am on favor, while I understand some may not like this as this rewards those which had a bad draft, at the same time I think we should give a small incentive to those players to not quit during the middle of the season, and this seems like the right place to do so.

lol.  I'm in a league where they force us to have 2 kickers.  It's the dumbest league ever but I play in it because my best friend from HS asked me to co-manage it with him years ago, and it's a way for us to stay in touch and what not. Anyways I keep trying to get them to change the rules but they won't budge. I named my team "2 kickers 1 league" ..they weren't amused  (hopefully you get the joke there)

Honestly I can easily see that happening.  Where josh Allen has a step over Justin is his legs.  But Herbert consistenty puts up both yards and tds.  Quarterback will be one of those positions that might be shocking how it plays out this year.  I have my own way I like to draft but it hasn't worked last couple years gonna switch it up.  Can't wait to get the season going.

Now that I recall we did have two payouts both of the past years.  Last year was a bit of a clusterfuck due to the Damar Hamlin incident.
Do we want more than two payouts?  I vote for two; 0.005 for second place, and 0.025 for the champ.

I vote for keeping the kicker.  I won't go so far as saying kickers are football players, but still.

As for the playoffs, I agree that 8 is too many, but I don't like the idea of a bye week for the top two teams, so my vote is 4 teams in the playoffs, week 16 semis and week 17 finals.

That's not a bad idea at all.  I like matrix chat the best, Element.io offers a good client.  Open-source, free, local key encryption, and it has voice and video conferencing as well, in case I feel the need to repulse you guys with my ugly mug.  But I don't mind Discord, even Telegram would work.  I would guess that everyone here already has a Discord account, so no need to push anything else.

It would be fun to get on a group voice call for the draft.

Wolf - thanks for setting up the discord channel.  We have one for the bitcointalk league I run and it's a lot of fun having a place where we can chat freely without annoying the ever living shit out of moderators in this thread lol. 

Anyone have any drafts yet or start running mock drafts?  I had my one draft for my new keeper league, and have a ran a few mocks.  God damn I love NFL football season

While waiting for the time to pass until September, I started watching a pretty decent docuseries on Netflix called Quarterback. Its 8 eps. Follows the arcs of last year's season of Mahomes, Cousins and Mariota. I've only watched the first three and one thing they all have in common is they all seem like extremely nice dudes. They're all humble in their own ways and seem like they would talk to anyone who wasn't too annoying.

The first actual preseason games are in less than two days, so we made it. We all made it to the next season, congrats everybody. I know these games don't really count for dick but I'm gonna find a way to watch the Vikings/Seahawks game, need my fix.

I've heard good things about this, and I think maybe I've discussed this in this thread before, but the whole reason I've avoided it is because I absolutely can not stand Patrick Mahomes wife Brittney (however you spell her name) and I know she's a big focus in the series.

I did watch Hard Knocks last night though and definitely recommend it.  The Jets are about as exciting as a team can be right now and of course there's plenty of Aaron Rodgers so far.  He actually comes off like a cool guy though and I know that's not true lol, so there's definitely a bit of "fluff".

I started watching this last night, and got through 3 episodes.  I must say it is quite well done.  I was just side-streaming while working on another project (unless I have a little woman next to me to cuddle, that's the only way I can watch TV these days.)  I like Patrick Mahomes more now than I did before, but yeah his wife is kinda annoying.  God, that voice of hers when she's rooting for Patrick is worse than banshee getting anal raped.  My glass of milk curdled on my desk.

On the other hand, Kirk Cousins' life seems so simple and normal.  I liked him before, but now I think I like him even more.  I've liked Mariota since his days at UofO, and have rooted for him to do well his entire career.  He had so much potential, and I really expected much more out his pro career.  It's a bit sad to see the trajectory of his career dwindle the way it has.

Lol, I like Aaron Rodgers, again I've been following his career since his college days at Berkely, and was furious when we (the Niners) didn't draft him in 2006.  I'll have to check this one out.  Is it on Netflix also?

You guys been watching the pre-season at all?  I've been trying to catch some of the beginning of games where we see the starters. Obviously most are playing very little right now.  Justin Fields and my Bears looked pretty interesting this past week. Though the two TDs were screen passes which doesn't really derive confidence out of me, need to see Fields in the pocket and making plays.

BTW I thought they were supposed to whittle down the pre-season to 2 weeks, or am I making that up?

I watched Minnesota @ Seattle, but that's all really.  I only kinda half-assed watched the games on Sunday, so I'm streaming the Niner's game right now.  I just want to see Lance play some more, because you never know if you'll get another chance.

I think there was talk of that a couple of years ago, when they were tweaking the schedule.  One of the potential options was two weeks for pre-season and 18 regular season games.  I imagine it's still something the league would like to do some day.  It would make a lot of sense if they expand the league to 40 teams, add one to each division.
