Going back to the Fury vs Wilder III topic, since the promoter already booked in Vegas for the December 19, targeted date of this fight, let's hope experts are wrong that vaccine is only available next year.

https://metro.co.uk/2020/07/01/tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-date-fight-boxing-heavyweight-12928909/
Since the choose date is just a targeted date then it still not certain that the fight will take place because the date can be skip due to the covid 19. However, i hear that a vaccine was developed in Russia but world healthy body are yet to confirm it.

.
Yes but you might not notice that the COVID 19 brought some nations together.
Crime rate in our country has decrease due to covid-19, people not going out, police force are in the streets, so that help a lot.
However, we don't want to be in this situation, and I hope that what you said will happen, countries helping each other would make us easily recover from this crisis.
Crime rate decrease because changed the way we see the world and i said countries will help each other because i believe that the way to overcome COVID 19.

If he said that then its  clear that they do go after for ticket sales - gate as you mentioned but they wouldnt able to know if they wont try about having that PPV thing.

This is business but they should consider on the current situation we are in. Its not really that easy to imply on the things that they do like nor prefer.

When it comes to profits then we can see the difference but whats more important is that this fight should really be resumed and accept on what revenue they would able to generate on this one.
The issue here is the boxing business model, the live gate belongs to the promoter and they will not let go of the huge amount and not many high profile fights takes place every year and it is possible that the promoters will delay the event as they earn around $10 to $20 million for these gates and if any promoter is willing to let go of these huge profits then we might see high profile fights and may be they are hoping that they could allow audience by the end of this year.
Then they either have to change the current model just as every other sport is doing, accept some losses and make the fight without public or wait until a vaccine is developed and only admit in attendance to the fight to those that have been vaccinated, all the options present disadvantages, they either have to accept less revenue or the fight will have to be postponed further losing hype and most likely losing money in the process as well.
I heard that the boxing are also back and ppv is the option introduced for viewers/fans but actions/fight seems to be scheduled for September. However, I dont think top ranked fighter will accept part of accepting losses and they will prefer to wait till a vaccine is developed which is the reason why Fury vs Wilder and AJ vs Kubrat Pulev are on hold.

They are the biggest stars on the heavyweight division so they can do as they please unlike many other fighters that need the money to survive, however it is interesting to know if what they are doing will actually bring them the most revenue, after all boxing fans will keep track of the minimum details and will watch the fights regardless of when they happen, but for those that are not really that much into boxing this could mean they will lose interest if the fight keeps getting postponed, so they are betting that postponing the fight and waiting until they can get people in the arena is the best choice but what if the best choice is to make the fights now with no public but with a captive audience?

Regardless of where the fight takes place do you think it will be with a limited audience running in to a few hundred in the stadium?

I think it will be too soon for audiences to return in large numbers so television companies will make a huge profit when they sell the fight on a Pay Per View basis.

Pay Per View is the best option we have for the industry to continue offering sporting events that can resume in the rest of the year. A possible Covid19 vaccine would be the most awaited by humanity and especially for the USA, which is the nation most hit by the Virus. However boxing has shown its strength in this tough stage, the organizers have been very resourceful and that is very valuable.

If the rematch happens to take place this year, don't know how the organiser's will make it come to play this year in spite of the pandemic. I do hope the organizers has a better plans set a side for the rematch.
The rematch is a must watch, thousands of top personalities would love to be at the venue of the rematch live and directly to support their key boxer.
The fight between Wilder and Fury is mega boxing fight, not something to miss.
It will be fun for fans to bet, woo and clap for both fighter's

If the fight happens when we are still in the pandemic? Yes, it will be only for limited audience.
That's depending on how the government will see the fight, they need to seek approval first in order to get some audience, but that means opening an arena for a few number of people and these people needs to be tested and cleared before they enter into the venue, which I think too expensive compared to what they could potentially earn from these people.

What I see is they will need a full crowd for better revenue, therefore, no fight will happen until vaccine is release.

I think it will be too soon for audiences to return in large numbers so television companies will make a huge profit when they sell the fight on a Pay Per View basis.
PPV will be the only options for them to make profits, if people are willing to pay $100 to even $1000 for a live gate, if if that choice is not open for the public, then obviously, PPV will generate enough money to make them decent profits.

Not that easy too, we know there's a lot of cheats in online as well, some people pay for the PPV services but they can also stream that illegally, if you know what I'm saying.. if one can see this fight for free or with minimal fee through illegal live streaming, then I guess, they won't get their target revenue on PPV, that's why the promoter looks for a gate entrance revenue as it cannot be cheated.

There are already some fights that had proceeded with the new protocol into these kind of events where staffs and team members are only on the arena and with some few numbers of people
who are on the venue and with this, we do already have the glimpse or idea on what would be the possible situation of this upcoming fight of Fury and Wilder. There might be some audience but
it would be expected that it would be on minimal as possible. They do need to abide into the protocol if they wont like to face up some issues because sports events would only proceed out
on following a specific social distancing protocol.Of course they would surely focus on PPV sales instead.

Going to the venue wearing mask and you have to abide the social distancing role, I think you will lose your focus and instead you can't enjoy the game, it's better if you just by a PPV pass, enjoy at home and be safe from covid-19.

There is no way we can expect audience in the US in the near future but there are other countries which are safe to conduct fights with audience and New Zealand is a good option as the number of cases are really low and it is possible that they could allow sports with audience with proper testing and other set ups but i have not heard from any sports authority or boxing promoters about moving the fight away from the US, PPV will be a huge success and UFC have proved that as they are able to pull big numbers during the pandemic.

Even if this fight will be held in other country, I think they will still get a big number of people who will watch the fight, no sports enthusiast would not know these two great fighters, so if it will not happen in US, I think Australia is also a good venue.

They need to have a gate entrance revenue and a good number of PPV to meet their target.

Pay per view will not reach it's expectation because of what our going through these days. But the whole world our still excited to watch this fight from there home. Only the promoter and their teams know how to get profit with this fight, let's leave to them the worry about that matter. at the end of the day, the only thing that matters for us is whos gonna win and take the title of a true heavyweight champion.

Promoter would not make this fight happen without a gate entrance, it's suppose to be a big fight but it will not be a big fight if their revenue is only coming from the PPV sales, and this fight might be the last between the two, so for the last time, Bob wants to make money from Wilder, assuming Fury would knock him out again.

I dont think so specially if the government would already set-in on such situation. We know that there are rules that should really be followed and this isnt only
strictly being applied on some industries but it is included as a whole. They wont any have options left but to deal with ppv sales but this time it would
be more expensive than we are still in normal times.

The biggest stars in the boxing heavy weight division wont fight if the money and the revenue they will get is not good, so making the fight now without the public audience seems not to be the best choice. Besides, you said already that only people who are not boxing fan will lose interest in the fight and with this i dont think the postponement will hurt.

I think having spectators is a preferred choice all round but the way things are going people sitting at home watching the boxing and other sports will be the only option.
To be a spectator in these huge events you need to have a good bank balance and the ticket price starts from $500 upwards and for the base rate you will get the last row seats and you can watch the events in a television inside the arena as you cannot clearly see everything that is going on in the arena but you can boost about the experience to your friends  Cheesy. For people like me the only option is to watch the events at home and the promoters are looking for that big money as you wont see many big event like these in boxing all the time.

Indeed, there's no other option if we want to see the fight, going in the arena either we are not allowed or if we are allowed but can we risk our lives not knowing people surrounding us. The reality is happening, we can't force to be of the same situation in the past, the only option is PPV, so promoters out there should start re evaluating their target profit as we are in a different situation now.

If they can make money through PPV, then they should do it asap, they must have some commitment to the fans as they have announce this fight previously already.

I think it will be very awkward for boxers to fight in a ring without any spectators, it will be like a training gym for them without atmosphere. I wonder how long the coronavirus status quo implemented by governments will continue before they go for the herd immunity option, that way football stadiums and all sporting events will be full again and life will begin getting back to pre-coronavirus days.

The boxing tournament in Las Vegas is hard to explain. Totally, the question is, how to expand more fans if the social distancing has constantly implemented by our government and this protocol is useful to maintain and I think people are responsible to follow, So it's hard to manage because even people love this game, not safety, I think it is normal that we have an inevitable worry feeling while showing the real fight. I think in fact I also like to bet in an online process for safety measures while we aren't totally sure that we are free on the pandemic virus.

There's no fans, it's been in the news already when the boxing return in Vegas.

Las Vegas — Add boxing to the list of sports on the comeback trail.

Promoter Bob Arum said Thursday he plans to stage a card of five fights on June 9 at the MGM Grand, the first of a series of fights over the next two months at the Las Vegas hotel. A second fight card will be held two nights later, with ESPN televising both cards, kicking off twice-weekly shows at the hotel in June and July.
