I did not dig this story deeply, but I heard that Wilder was able to achieve a rematch only through the court (since Fury dodged the fight and wanted to fight Joshua), Fury won the trial, but the fight, as it seems, by the court's decision, will be held on Fury's terms (i.e. a new contract for the fight), so it is quite possible that there is a clause about the next rematch if Fury loses the fight.

That was for this third fight. He had a rematch clause but the contracted time for it to happen within had elapsed but that was only due to covid so he had to go court to get it overruled. Contracts often have clauses in for things like 'acts of god', wars breaking out or even pandemics. No idea what the terms of this contract were but I think it was fair due to covid which made the fight impossible.

I have now googled for a while but could not find information regarding the current contract - only the part about the distribution of income from the match between boxers is public (the amounts are impressive).
In fact, this is a very interesting question, because if this 3rd fight is a continuation of that contract, then by winning it, Wilder will be able to refuse Fury a rematch, and if this is a completely new contract, then Fury, as a belt holder, will be able to demand revenge in case of defeat and we will see the 4th fight.

This is interesting, I always thought that this was just Wilder invoking the clause in the contract that gave him the chance to recover his tittle in the case of a loss, so it is entirely possible that if this is a new contract that Fury can now have that clause as well, however I do not think Wilder is going to beat him anyway, however now the chance for an undisputed champion will depend on what happens with the Joshua vs Usyk rematch fight as in the case Usyk wins again, which is the most likely outcome, will Usyk try to fight Fury so soon and risk all his belts? Or will he wait until he gets more comfortable on the division?

IMO, the rematch clause is not so important as being a champion, he should give a chance to give his opponent a rematch, especially if the opponent is still one of the best in the division and the fans would want to see it. Forget about the contract, the better fighter would always win and in this case, Fury should not be tired of fighter Wilder as he already beat him twice, (first one was a draw but controversial, but 2nd one was a clear win by KO).

Depending on the outcome of the fight people love to see a rematch if there is a need to do one, all I know is if there's a rematch it's another contract, every fight is another contract but some of its contents are coming out of the previous one, both of their managers are wise people who protect the interest of their respective boxers so I'm sure there's a possibility of a fourth fight if Wilder wins because it doesn't settle it's going to be 1 to 1 between the two fighters.

Until one of them wont really give up then theres always the tendency of possible rematches no matter how many times it would happen as long the demand and interest is there but i dont see for this upcoming trilogy
would really be that something in hype considering that there are no tentative schedules or finalization for this trilogy but if this one would really happen then for sure it would really poke out
peoples interest again but for now lets just wait for some final decision whether they would really let this fight happen or would really just remain on rumors.

To add to that, Fury was already looking for a Joshua fight because the contractual obligation has elapsed. But then Wilder go to the court, and it went to his favour. So Joshua fights Usyk his mandatory, and then lost. Then Fury vs Wilder III next week. If could have been big if Joshua won and then Fury putting an end with Wilder in the trilogy. If Wilder wins in the third fight, then we will see, they need to sit down again. Or Fury can go after the winner of the Joshua vs Usyk, take all the belts, and maybe it will force Wilder again for a 4th fight for unification.

The scheme is interesting, but I don't think that the winner of the Usyk - Joshua 2 pair will fight Fury who has no belts - what's the point? He is a dangerous boxer and there is no point in risking his belts for a simple victory, if Fury loses to Wilder and if he cannot get a rematch (depending on what is written in the contract) then he will end up in the general queue of boxers. Considering the tricks of managers that allow champion boxers to avoid dangerous opponents, this state can be a long time.

Contracts, the thing that makes everything more complicated. While we are discussing results and future fights between Joshua, Wilder, Fury and Usyk, we have forgotten that there are boxers in heavyweight division. Contracts is what pauses whole division. What about Ruiz for example? He also wants to fight and want a fight for belts.

Do you think Wilder will have a new costume during walkout or will have a robe only?

Lets imagine Wilder looses - will he retire after two straight losses or no?

On same event, Efe Ajagba   vs. Cuba Frank Sánchez ( WBO-NABO champion) fight is going to take a place. Strange that no one discuss that (maybe because  WBO-NABO is a crap? huh). If a Wilder vs Fury winner will be fresh enough, he could fight Ajagba vs Sanches winner and take a belt as they are also heavyweights Cheesy

I think they get paid to wear silly costumes and Wilder was making excuses last fight and I  do not expect him to be the type of person to reject money for wearing a costume for entering the ring. I  do not think he will retire he will go back to beating bums in America and avoid the other bigger fighters in the division. A Joshua v Wilder fight could be entertaining I just think Wilder will not want to fight him after losing to Fury 2 times because he will start doubting his ability unless he continues to be delusional but I think another loss should humble him.

If he lost again on Fury then i dont see that he would really make out some excuses again and also if he loses against AJ then for sure that will really make out some impact when it comes to psychological aspect.

You would really have doubts about your capability in this boxing world whenever you do commit or experience out consecutive losses. When it comes to those getting paid kind of set up

then i wont really be that surprised neither they would done it or not because each person does have their dignity on various things.

This trilogy is not supposed to happen because fans were already convinced that Fury clearly won the fight, even on the controversial draw in their first fight. But due to the contract, they should follow and it should not be a problem for Fury to prove that he is the better fighter again as he is sure the better fight and could still get the some outcome in their last fight, that is provided he doesn't stop training and maintains his fitness.

For every fight there will be a contract but you need to make sure what goes inside a contract, Wilder will not allow a fight to happen without a rematch clause and hence they had that on the contract. When it comes to Andy Ruiz he needs to win some fights before looking for another title shot. The next fight that needs to get a title shot is Dillian Whyte.

Do you think Wilder will have a new costume during walkout or will have a robe only?
Wilder was blaming his costume for his loss and you think he will be wearing any gimmicks this time around. Not sure how he will be making his entrance but i am not expecting anything fancy.

Most probably we won't see that heavy suit that he wore last time, that's the reason he lose  Grin

IMO, he should continue fighting if he wants and just consider Tyson Fury his kryptonite. In boxing, "styles makes fight" so let's just assume that Fury got his numbers. We can't deny that Wilder is one of the feared champions in the heavyweight division and almost all of them have losses so nothing to be ashamed of, it's just one have to lose.

He'll probably go for a simple costume for this fight a simple robe with a lot of embed on it, and if he losses the fight I don't think he will retire he has a lot of pride and is still capable of knocking out an opponent and no boxer will quit when he is still in the height of his boxing skill, he'll probably deny losing if he losses by decision and if it is by knock out he'll plan to avenge his loss, whatever happens here in this fight he's still one of the most feared boxers in this generation.

Wilder was picking and choosing fighters and he had confidence in his power despite the fact that he is not a technically great boxer but have immense power in his hands and once he faced Tyson Fury who was not going down with his power punch he was not able to do anything and if Fury continues his usual strength then he will win the trilogy and hopefully we will not hear any further excuses.

These little rematch clause pauses all the division. If Wilder wins, Fury will want a rematch. If Fury wins Wilder will came up with a bunch of excuses why he had lost again and will as for a rematch. I am already expecting something like "Wilder vs Fury №6".

Every fancy outfit, that fights use on a walkout, make me smile. I just cant get what they want to prove with it. Show how stylish they are? Then they have to go to the podium. Show all these shiny Swarowsky gems and gold on the suite - better show account balance. Frighten his opponent? Halloween is only on October 31.

Fury had been knockdown once,  so he feel the power of Wilder, it's just that Fury is so good at moving around and take note, he also has the power so he can hurt Wilder. As long Wilder cannot connect with clean punches on Fury, I think the same result will be seen, Fury will win via UD or a KO at worst.

Yes Fury was knockdown in the first fight with Wilder but you need to remember that during that period Wilder was considered as the best fighter in the world and was active and many were comparing him with the legends for his power. On the other hand Tyson Fury was making a come back to boxing after taking a long break and going through mental issues and gained weight beyond recognition and to come back and perform the way he did after years of non activity speaks volumes to his skills and how the media boasted Wilder Cheesy.

Let's look at the current odds ML at sportsbet.

Fury at 1.29, Wilder at 3.25 - Good and very attractive odds for Wilder, specially for those who love to go with the underdog.

Now, looking at the handicap per rounds, Over 7.5 - 1.82, Under 7.5 1.96. Might be tempted to bet on the over here.

And as for the "fight will go to the distance" - Yes 2.85, No 1.37.

Lets imagine Wilder looses - will he retire after two straight losses or no?

knowing wilder? why would there be a retirement issue even if he losses 2 consecutive fights when he is confident about his skills.

wilder is one of the most promising boxer to reign now as Manny pacquiao has already retired.

with other boxers to claim to become one of the most remembered boxer , it is him who will be on the list so he will not consider retiring this soon.
