I love this idea, although i have almost no BTCs, and less to spare, maybe in the future i'll pledge but not today.

Remember, folks. that this is just the pledging stage. There's no commitment until the donation stage kicks in and you're ready and willing to participate. That said, to get on the list, simply state "I'm in" and you'll be added with the understanding that you're pledging at lease 1 BTC sometime in the future. In re, your second sentence. I didn't know there were libertarians on this board. May have to rethink my Bitcoin position now that this relative information has come to light. Seriously, I lean Conservative, but hold many values and political views offered up by the other parties. I even lean towards atheism which would shock my Jehovah Witness friend (if he knew) who stopped by yesterday to witness to me. Afterwards, I'm pretty sure he was somewhat shocked when I ask him to lead us (him and I) in prayer. I say that because I'm also sure he hadn't gotten that request very often by others he's witnessed to.

I just donated 1.0025 (odd amount because I wanted to have my wallet even) to Doctors Without Borders. nmat, or whoever is monitoring this, will be able to verify that I did such.

I'm aware that there may be other charity-type sites up and running, but remember that Bitcoin100 is designed to be more than just another charitable enterprise. Its main goal is to aid in the awareness of Bitcoin via having charitable organizations implementing a Bitcoin donation option on their respective websites. The hope is that by offering a bone (a minimum of 100 BTC), they'll be more inclined to consider the option. Although simple in mind and on paper, the task in hand to get this fully operational requires work. Work that I'm proud to be a part of.
