Thanks. We will be to look - The block reward is currently 6.18 GRS. Are you paying from your own pocket to compensate? - I have overlooked 1) Make sure u have GRS Core 2.13.3 running. - yes 2) Make sure u have patched ur pool to enable segwit transactions - transactions take place 4) Can you tell us what walletaddress the pool uses so we can tag you on the blockexplorer? - yes - later 5) Change the capital C to small c. So no GroestlCoin but Groestlcoin. We moved away from the Capital C in 2015. - yes

The most outstanding of GRS now is Segwit activated. GRS is the first coin that Segwit activated ,let all people know GRS is a Segwit activated LTC, so that the price will become 12$ every GRS LOL u have been quoted here: http://cryptolix.com/groestlcoin-grs-what-you-need-to-know/

Thanks to both Metamorphin and Jackie. I'll just spend a couple of days poking about at this: wanna get a sense of how big a 'movement' seg wit will be, and how that will affect us.

Yes GRS has the fastest sync of ALL coins that (will) have Segwit. Only takes 1 hour from genesis till now (thats 3 years of blockchain data). Why wait days if it should only take 1 hour.

Thanks to both Metamorphin and Jackie. I'll just spend a couple of days poking about at this: wanna get a sense of how big a 'movement' seg wit will be, and how that will affect us. My personal opinion on this. Segwit is a ticket to the show. All coins implementing and activating segwit will get a ticket. The name of the show will be: Lightning Network, Tumblebit, Schnorr Signatures, Confidential Transactions, Cross-chain atomic swaps etc etc It will take time to see those implementations ready for production though. Segwit is the enabler of possibilities (and is not a scaling solution as some people think, thats just a positive side affect for Bitcoin) As far as a movement I think that all coins that dont implement Segwit will have 2 choices: die slowly or implement masternodes system to resist Segwit. I expect lots of coins implementing either SegWit or Masternodes soon. Most PoW coins will choose for Segwit and most PoS coins will choose for the masternodes system.

Proposal for ambitious Groestl project- Create a groestl-based fork of Elements and Elements Alpha.
These are some of the features that an elements sidechain to Groestl would add:
https://i.imgur.com/LCrus2C.png
- A new "Segwit coins only" multi-wallet that has an exchange allowing atomic swaps across different currency pairs between different people-- i.e. a truly decentralized coin exchange with no middlemen. Currently, this would consist of Groestlcoin and Syscoin.
How this will set Groestlcoin apart:Developers/entrepreneurs interested in testing sidechains on a live chain (rather than a testnet) will be able to easily do so by cloning the Groestl-elements fork we will create. Confidential Transactions on the Groestl-Alpha pegged sidechain. The first ultra-decentralized altcoin exchange with 0% fees. It will include Groestlcoin and Syscoin, followed (hopefully) by Viacoin and Litecoin (and any further Segwit coins that come along). Getting it done:I would like to begin working on this project immediately, donations would help to accelerate things. Any support or feedback would be much appreciated! Groestlcoin: Foix566fBaVLGFwd2Jb6Lwwahfq51PYhTE Bitcoin: 1KXh9hhMicfeMn4CsMzZZGKf3XGTVusgWc I must say, I applaud your efforts. That is indeed a very ambitious Groestl project. I like the proposal but it's not clear what kind ammount of donations you are expecting. What happends for example if somebody only donates 0.1 btc? Is your proposal depending on the donations or will you do it anyway? If you want donations then people would like to see what your qualifications are to create the groestl-based sidechain (do you have a github?). Would love to get milestone reports if possible. So a bit about myself as a developer: Joseph Cooper, jecooper@alum.mit.edu- I created SegWitPoolsData, a script for retrieving data about which BTC pools have been mining Segwit recently and it also looks up a recent BTC address being used by each pool (i.e. if you wanted to auto-donate to Segwit pools (or non-segwit pools), you could use this script).
- I'm the Senior Software Developer of a small (~5 million USD market cap) east coast US software company
- I have a degree in pure mathematics from MIT
The goals of this project - To create a Groestlcoin sidechain called Groestl-Alpha which possesses the desirable features from Elements: confidential transactions, atomic swaps with the main Groestlcoin chain, etc.
- To be the first cryptocurrency to have a functional sidechain on mainnet.
This goes beyond just attracting speculators. Devs from other chains (e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum) might join the Groestl dev force once they are enticed by the prospect of working with live sidechain-enabled features. Groestl will become the official "laboratory" for all cryptocurrency developers who want to work at the cutting edge. - While working on groestl-alpha, to be attentive to any bugs we might encounter in the core Groestl code, and to submit issues to the repo regarding these.
Funding goal: I would like to assume full-time responsibility for seeing this project to completion by September 1, 2017. Therefore the fundraising target is 15 BTC (or the equivalent in Groestls). If donations begin to come in, I will set up a website for tracking them and blogging on the status of the project. I'll check back in here on bitcointalk to answer questions, provide additional information, or whatever other services I can provide. Cheers! Update (2017/04/20) - Thank you for the Groestl donation from anonymous!
Update (2017/04/20) - Thank you for the Groestl donation from anonymous!
Amazing GRS seems to have a nice future, Blocknet have a functioning code named Bridge that can interconect chains, the hassle is you have to download the entire blockchain to make swaps or trade between them, maybe GRS can build an exchange in wallet using the blocknet Bridge that is only conected to full nodes and nodes can replicate the trades in wallet, to the Blocknet chain (for no Segwit coins), i see a lot of potencial in GRS as they can enable LN between other coins like SYS even SYS is used in Blocknet to make those proofs it's becoming interesting, devs should begin to talk with others teams that already has Segwit activated to show at world what is possible with this tech.
Update (2017/04/20) - Thank you for the Groestl donation from anonymous!
Care to clarify some things: 1) In one of your previous post you claim that you are "not an expert cryptocurrency programmer" but a marketing guy. When did you change from a marketing guy to a coder? 2) In one of your previous post you ask to fork Bitcoin-core and make the necessary changes so you can have a bitcoin-equihash-testnet. Why didnt u do it urself? This raises some red flags for me if u are able to fork elements and elements-alpha. Especially because we are not a simple altcoin (Groestlcoin uses Double Groestl512 for Block headers, Message, Address, Alert Messages, Script OP_HASH256. Groestlcoin uses Single SHA256 for Message Signing, Transactions and Transaction Signatures. Groestlcoin uses Double SHA256 for MerkleRoots and BIP38). We didnt just use Groestl algo for our POW. We groestlized almost everything. Thats why other coins failed to implement auxpow with us. 3) You seem to be the moderator of r/BitcoinMaximalists/ with slogan: For holders working to expand the Bitcoin economy. Why your interest in altcoins and in particular for Groestlcoin? 4) You say you are willing to accept the equivalent of Groestlcoins. I dont think you can get that much BTC raised in Groestlcoin. However the Groestlcoin equivalent should be doable. Will you hold them or dump them on the market right away? (hold because you believe in the project. Dump because you are a Bitcoin maximalist) 5) Your Github is very empty, can't judge your skills. Honest question: Will you port Elements yourself or will somebody else do it for you? Do you have a team? Will LukeJR be involved or desantis perhaps? 6) Assuming you want to work full time on this, are you currently unemployed? If not, how can you work 40 hours a week on this? If yes, what happends if you find a job in the near future? 7) You will work 5 months on this for 15 BTC. So thats 3 BTC per month. Isnt getting paid 3 BTC (or equivalent in Groestlcoins) every beginning of the month in advance much better choice for both of us? On Groestlcoin we only work in our Github. This means you would be added to Groestlcoin project and you would be granted access to the necessary repos. Is that a problem for you? p.s. So this cooper boy showed up trying to extort 15 btc from u, telling u stories about side-chains and his own ambitions, one of them being "development of the first coin with a functioning side-chain" This 14 yo teen thinks he will be the first in the history of crypto to implement the working side-chain. What a load of shittalking and delusional rambling. Educate urself first if u want to post about "the first sidechain".

PM me your IRC or Skype details so we can have a chat and move things faster. Hi jackielove4u, great questions, I will answer them as concisely as possible: 1) In that instance I didn't wish to volunteer myself for coding duties, but I am indeed a coder. 2) Yup, and that's why I'm giving myself until September 1, so I have plenty of time to learn the particularities of Groestlcoin. 3) Correct-- in my view, successful sidechains in a production environment would sway internal Bitcoin politics in a preferable direction. That doesn't change the fact that I wish to carry out this project for Groestlcoin to completion. 4) I would be happy to accept just Groestlcoins, and I think everyone would be able to use a block explorer to verify that I am not dumping. I do not intend to transfer the Groestlcoins until after completion of the project. 5) I plan to do most of the work but will possibly collaborate with a close friend who has a course 6 (E.E.) B.S. MIT '08 and a Master's in EE (also MIT) '09 and did some graduate work at U.Chicago in linguistics before working for Google. If I do end up working with this person, I will supply you their personal details. 6) I'll agree that full time might not work unless I quit my current job (which I'm not willing to do). However, I would agree to say that if the project is not substantially completed (modulo a certain number of bugs and other outstanding issues) by September 1, then I will return the funds to their respective senders (minus transaction fees). 7) That's fine. But in terms of dates, the target is Sept. 1,, and the month of April is nearly finished, so it would be 4 months rather than 5 months so it would be 3.75 BTC per month over the course of 4 months. 8 ) Not a problem for me, although I don't foresee needing such access (I could just create pull requests periodically). Would I have additional duties/responsibilities to the community if I were granted such access?
