Sometimes, the high number of stars in a team produces reverse effect, as everyone of them would want to show themselves over the others. That is what's happening with PSG. The problem wasn't a single day in the coaching staff, because the team was coached by some of the best European coaches, but still the same results every season. I'm not talking about the local league because it was always easy to win for them, but I'm talking about one of their highest ambitions, the European Champions League. However, the problem lies in the mentality of the management staff who think that money can bring them the trophies they want. Therefore, they need to change their mentality and start working on a new generation who will play for the name of the club, not for the money.

Indeed having the best players and the best coaches from years didn't guarantee having Champions League title for PSG unfortunately. They should take lessons from Real Madrid and the other winners to advance there. The local league isn't that hard to achieve even though that PSG still struggle with some teams sometimes.
Their defeat vs Rennes was quite surprising by 2 goals to 0! The other top teams won their games and the gap shrank to 7 points which remains considerable luckily.

Not long time ago, they struggled to have good gaps with other competitors in Ligue 1 and now that issue appears against with this defeat.

It seems in the last 3 seasons, PSG become more vulnerable even in Ligue 1 and it means something about their whole team, not only from their pure lack of concentration and interest in Ligue 1.

It is a bad match of those star players as they wasted many opportunities. However, PSG can blame them that they failed to score goals but about the defeat and two conceded goals, it is related to their whole team, lack of defensive support from attacking players including Messi and Mbappe, bad defense from midfielders to defenders.

I don't think PSG dropping points will give them a huge advantage in Marseille or a challenge for the title. Despite dropping points in this match, the PSG team is 7 points ahead of Marseille. And despite losing a point in a match, the team is very strong. Will perform well again in the upcoming matches and dominate Ligue 1. However, I expected a better performance from PSG against Rennes. We don't see better performances from Messi and Mbappe.

Rennes managed to clinch a 2-0 victory against psg. Despite losing, Messi proved himself because he created 5 goal-scoring opportunities against Rennes. However, Kylian Mbappe wasted all five chances, resulting in psg's loss. Their poor midfield and defensive performance throughout the season, the defeat was somewhat predictable. The team seems to lack chemistry and a winning culture, making them a rather dysfunctional unit. It is high time for psg to release some of their players and invest in building a better team with a competent coach. Only then can they hope to regain their lost glory and compete at the highest level of the game.

Rennes managed to clinch a 2-0 victory against psg. Despite losing, Messi proved himself because he created 5 goal-scoring opportunities against Rennes.

Messi is well-known with his ability in passing and creating opportunities for his team mates. In World Cup 2022, he shown it at world-class level very convincingly. However, he requires to have special rights, free of pressing and defend contributions. It would be a problem if there are other players like Messi in a team. This issue is existing in PSG with Neymar and Mbappe in their front-line.

However, Kylian Mbappe wasted all five chances, resulting in psg's loss. Their poor midfield and defensive performance throughout the season, the defeat was somewhat predictable. The team seems to lack chemistry and a winning culture, making them a rather dysfunctional unit.

Mbappe is one of most dangerous attacking players but his finishing skills are not perfect. He must sharpen his skills for face-to-face situations with goalkeepers as he wasted many opportunities like that.

PSG in this season is very vulnerable even in Ligue 1 and I don't think it comes from their lack of concentration for the league. They have problems with their defense system and in this season, those defensive weaknesses are exploited more by other clubs.

I just wanted to praise Reims a little bit a short time ago but I see that it didn't leave a good effect on them.  

I was really impressed with Will Still's tactics which helped the team not to lose for 17 games in the league. This was a really insane effort for a team like Reims I mean. I was even thinking they would resist Marseille also. Because they newly beat Monaco by 1-0 away before this game. This was a huge boost to their self-confidence technically. In fact Reims were the side starting better to the game. They scored the goal very early thanks to Balogun. But it didn't take Marseille a long time to answer with 2 goals. It was A. Sanchez's day really - 2 goals.

Reims still could have saved one point at least. Because they increased the level of effectiveness in the second half. But all that effort wasn't enough to prevent their impressive series from ending.

Monaco couldn't start the season very well but later they performed better and now they are between the top teams of the table while I was thinking they can beat Reims to decrease the gap between themselves and the top of the table, they could even have the chance to become the second team of the table but the chance missed, I think the competition between the top teams expect for PSG is very interesting but the Mnaco can have the potential t have a better rank.

Rennes taught PSG an unforgettable lesson.  At home, this defeat must have been quite shocking for PSG.  They are still the biggest candidates for the championship, but this defeat does not suit such a squad quality.  Rennes has shown that his quality is also high.  Monaco and Marseille continued without error, winning.  I'm wondering about the champion of the race given for the second place, not the championship.

It is not easy for psg in the Champions league. The champions league is the toughest league you can think  of. PSG is leading the French league because their are no strong teams that can challenge PSG.

It's time for wake up because PSG is already eliminated by Bayern Munich from the Champions League, and now they are having just Ligue 1 title to win while their lost at home against Rennes is surely shocking for the fans and many punters because I read on different social media channels many put their money just because they feel this is free money but star-studded PSG were not able to score any goal and then give good win to visitors in presence of Messi and Mbappé here players body language is clearly showing things are not good at PSG, and we can expect good changes in coming days because management is also not happy with this start studded team which fail to give them good results in all competitions.

Lens had a very impressive game against Angers home and destroyed them. They were solid in terms of passing and shots both. Angers couldn't even resist them much. Lens need to maintain an effort similar to this level if they want to keep their claim for a spot in the Champions League. They need to finish at the second spot if they want to join the group stage directly of course.

This season lens performance is very interesting. There was a time they were at first position that they couldn't maintain  to remain to lead. If lens can maintain the second position to get a spot in the Champions league it will be achievement this season.
It was so easy for lens to beat anger.

There is no doubt about Lens done impressive job in this season while they are still having strong grip at third spot which is giving all details about their performance in this season even right now Monaco, Rennes and Lille are also fighting hard for the better spot and replace them, but their consistency is amazing which is allowing them for having better place now after break we will have challenging match as Lens is going to face Rennes in away match, but surely this is going to be good match for the both teams.

Mostly were feeling in early rounds they could be down in next half of this season but their consistent performance and quality is giving good results which are surely important for the staying into top teams hopefully they will be able to stay at this level until end of this season which could be impressive and good reward for their hard work.

Imho, Marseille lost its chance for the title when PSG beat them few weeks ago. If Tavares scored from those early chances we would have looked at very diffeent game imho and now Marseille would be just 1 point behind them. As a matter of fact, they would maybe even be ahead of them as that win would boost their confidence so they wouldn't so easily lose points like vs Strasbourg last week.

I watched the Reims vs Marseille game last night and honestly they should be happy if they finish 2nd as they are not ready yet to seriously endanger PSG as they are even more incosistent than them. Sure, they beat Reims that is a very tough team to beat (19 games withour loss before Marseiile game) but they had a lot of luck to win 3 points last night.

PSG should have won but their game could not develop which made 2 goals from Rennes last until the final minutes of the match. I think it's time for PSG to start overhauling their players in the summer, they need to bring in a pure striker as well as a creative midfielder to create more chances and to be able to score goals more easily.

Sanchez performed so well in marseille. There are still 7 points remaining to be reached by marseille to be able to chase PSG. The only problem is the remaining matches become even less and less. There are still around 10 matches remaining at this moment. It's worth 30 points in total if marseilla will able to win all of the remaining matches.Marseille can take advantage of some important matches that will be faced by PSG. As you can see that if PSG is still having some matches against lens, lyon, lorient. These teams can be considered strong teams in league 1.
It may give possibility for marseille to cut the gap become even shorter caused by those teams may make PSG so difficult to take full points. I would like to see that if we have a new winner in league 1. That's boring to see that if it's PSG, PSG, and PSG again that was winning the league.

Man I hate adding to all the PSG posts here but of all the upsets I was looking at over the weekend, I completely overlooked PSG -- who before last night didn't lose at home for how long now?

If their fans are not happy with Ligue 1 title because PSG won too many titles in their domestic league in the past 10 years, win one or few more matches in this season won't make them happier.

However, if their fans bet on PSG to win and lose money with PSG loses, they surely will be angry against PSG players. What will they possibly do when they are angry? They will request PSG boss to fire Galiter first and want the club to buy more new star players. This summer can be a very chaotic summer transfer for PSG when they will have to deal with future of many star players from Mbappe to Messi, Ramos and even more.

I am not sure how their boss will have better sport development strategies for PSG in coming years. If they can change themselves by lesson from 10 failed years in Champions League, they will win it in future but I am very doubtful that it will happen soon.

The fact that they made it this far without being defeated was a great success despite the squad they had. Although reims played better in the match, they lost the match. It's a bit sad for them. Reims even scored the first goal but Marseille quickly responded with 2 goals. The match ended with goals in the first half. In the week when PSG lost, Marseille won and the points difference between them dropped to 7.

yes, Reims still dominated the game, but Marseille did better with the chances they got. a fairly balanced match for the two, even though it had to end with a Marseille win.
I was expecting the second half to see a few more goals, but it turned out that both teams played well enough and didn't allow any mistakes. Sanchez became a savior for Marseille. 2 goals that saved Marseille from defeat and also reduced the point gap with PSG. although it will be quite difficult to catch up with him.
