The point gap in the French league is narrowing. While Paris Saint-Germain won, Monaco drew. We all expect Paris Saint-Germain to win the league in the long run anyway. Monaco has started dropping points if they lose a few more, Paris Saint-Germain could reclaim the top spot. Once PSG takes the lead, they rarely relinquish it and would likely hold onto it until the end of the season. The players have started the season strongly following the international break. Now, the Champions League matches are next target.
PSG started with a poor performance at the beginning of last season but they reclaimed the league from Lens and ended up winning their domestic title, seeing them pulling the same stut this season doesn't make me believe PSG dominance will be stopped by any team this season because they will reclaim the league from whichever team that's at the top of the table and win it. Monaco is topping PSG with just three points. I don't expect Monaco to remain at the top of the table until French Ligue 1 matchday ten so PSG might even take their rightful position very soon.

Monaco maybe is in the first position but i doubt they will be able to keep up with PSG. PSG started the season bad but now they are picking up tempo really fast and all of the teams that are above them have to be worried, there is no room for mistakes. Monaco lost points at home against Toulouse and on small games you win the titles not on big ones. Monaco needs to keep their form up if they want to have a shot at the title.
That's right, Monaco are still top of the table, but they drew with Strasbourg this round, while PSG won their game. The gap between PSG and Monaco is now just three points, and I think you'll agree that it doesn't look nearly as worrying as it did a few rounds ago. Now nobody doubts that PSG will easily close that three point gap.

Indeed, if we look at it as a whole, perhaps for now we can say that PSG's status is still able to control the balance in modern French football matches, Even though the standings for PSG are in 6th place, this situation may not be shaken for PSG, this can be confirmed by the record of 14 Ligue 1 titles they have won. But I'm not sure whether PSG can maintain its highest status in France as the best club from season to season, considering that currently PSG's playing style can be said to be more collective under the control of Luis Enrique, PSG has currently lost its flagship striker, Bradley Barcola, who moved to Liverpool in August 2026. I saw that after Bradley moved, big changes occurred at the current PSG club, even though currently it is Ferran Torres and others.

It is only a matter of time, and none of the teams in ligue 1 should be worried because this kind of cycle has happened many times before. That is why I always say there is no miracle for other teams in this league as long as PSG still have Enrique and some key players like Dembele, Ferran Torres, Hakimi, and Mendes. If some of these names leave PSG, then people can start hoping that another team might finally break PSG's dominance.

I will be very happy if Paris Saint-Germain will not be able to win this trophy, but as it is now I found it difficult to even choose a team among the teams on top because of how dangerous Paris Saint-Germain usually perform. Yes Monaco is stopping the table with 14 points and there are three points away Paris Saint-Germain, this is not a huge gap between this dangerous team and I'm still not convinced that Monaco will be able to continue to lead with Paris Saint-Germain behind. I don't want Paris Saint-Germain to win this season, they are not the only thing in the French League but they have so many advantage over others and that is why they are able to maintain the top spot, this time around they will fill a lot of pains even though they later win.

PSG started the 2025/26 French League season with a poor performance but you take note managed to reclaim the domestic title from Lens, just as we have seen this season start with a poor performance as the team has already won just three of six matches. It is true that Monaco are only 3 points ahead of PSG but the reigning UCL champions still have 28 more matches to play in this French league. Even it is conceivable that other teams may not be able to stop the dominance of this experienced team. In my view PSG performed high against Le Mans but it will be challenging for them to face Manchester City in Champions League as this Premier League team is in great form this season and this team has managed to win all the matches

Monaco is doing well in their games, which I commend them for, but if in four months' time they are still able to be at the top, then I will know they really mean business to win the league. As for now, I will just watch to see if they can maintain their performance.

When it comes to Ligue 1, it’s not just about Enrique, because PSG were dominating the league long before he arrived, under several different managers. Enrique’s real achievement at PSG is that he managed to win the Champions League with them twice in a row. As for Ligue 1, I still don’t think PSG have a serious rival. Monaco’s strong start doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be able to maintain that level of consistency throughout the entire season. I’m confident that in just a few more rounds, PSG will be back at the top of the table and things will return to the usual order.

For those of you who are panicking of PSG not performing in the league and using that form to judge them in the champions League, I hope you are seeing what happening in the champions League. PSG is a totally different team in that competition and Luis Enrique made sure of that, even if PSG is not doing well in the league as of now, PSG will still pick up and win the league, there's no competition or should I say there's no serious competition in the league, so the main focus is in the champions League.

I don't know why some set of people are rushing to conclusions at this early stage of the season, saying that Monaco will win the league title, despite knowing what PSG is capable of.We have seen it many times in Ligue1,PSG may not start well from the beginning, but they will still catch up and win the league because other teams are not always consistent due to their lack of experience in handling the pressure. Most teams always start well but hardly end well. So, for now, anyone who is already concluding that Monaco will win the league title may likely be deceiving themselves because the season has not gone far enough to say that the points gap is too wide for PSG to catch up.Even if we get towards the end of the season and Monaco or another team is still leading by just a few points, I will still choose PSG as my favourite team to win the league title. In fact, to understand how good PSG is, we all saw how they played against Manchester City today, a team topping the Premier League table, despite our claims that PSG are not in their best form.

The statement is accurate. While Monaco might lead Ligue 1, they are ahead of PSG by only three points after only six games; PSG is currently sixth, with 11 points. According to betting odds, PSG has an 80% chance of winning the trophy compared to just 6.3% for Monaco. Furthermore, the defeat of Manchester City (4-2 away) serves as strong evidence of the ability of the Parisians.

If we look at their match with Manchester City, we can understand that. They defeated City at City's home ground. Manchester City is currently in great form and it is said that Manchester City is the first team in the league to win the Premier League trophy this season and they are currently occupying the first position in the Premier League. We will probably see PSG occupying the first position in Ligue 1 very soon.

There is competition at the moment but that doesn't mean PSG can't catch up with it. PSG in the champions League are completely different and I feel Enrique is setting his priorities right. It's barely 6 matches down the season and the gap between PSG and Monaco is just 3 points apart. This signals any moment PSG can reclaim the top position but still Monaco hasn't lost a single match yet. If they keep up the pace and increase their wins over draws they might hold on to that spot long enough to put PSG on tension.

PSG doesn't see Ligue 1 as their main focus right now. You can tell from the way they aren't really serious about chasing points, but are more focused on the Champions League. And it's pretty obvious since their current position is at the top of the Champions League standings. Even though it's still too early to conclude that they can get their third trophy, because Barcelona also looks quite convincing as their competitor, PSG is still trying to increase their chances of winning that trophy, and it wouldn't be surprising if they could get it I think.

I think that after yesterday’s match against City, people will stop saying that PSG are in poor form and that they’ve started playing differently, I think they’ll now be taken much more seriously. As I mentioned before, even in the matches where PSG dropped points, they didn’t look nearly as bad as the results suggested. I think Enrique will gradually get the team back to its peak form. By the way, I also expect PSG to beat Strasbourg in their upcoming Ligue 1 match.

I have never seen PSG as poor in the league because we all have seen how they start the season poorly and come back to reclaim the league. Yesterday's game is only an eye opener for the fans of Monaco and whoever thinks he's competing with PSG in the league. Luis Enrique seems to be focusing on the champions League to see if he can make it three on a row and it's not impossible based on the performance they put up in champions League matches. Going to the league, it will be difficult for Monaco to keep their streak and I think PSG will capitalise on other team weaknesses to win the league instead of concentrating on winning every game so that they can rest more players for champions League. It's just 6 games and anything is possible since they're only 3 points away from the top.
