Elders probably already know what bitcoin is, since bitcoin have became a headline for a hundred times in some news articles. The problem is it will be difficult for them to understand it. In my country, there are news where bitcoin have been used in illegal things like scam investment so they have wrong misconception to this.

That's certainly true, mate. The elderly will have a hard time trying to understand how Bitcoin works and how to use it. Being accustomed to Fiat (physical cash) for a very long time, will make them reluctant to change. The vast majority of old people aren't quite fond with the latest technologies. But that's not largely the case with young people. Eventually, the old generation will past by as they pave the way for the new generation. Young people will truly embrace digital currencies as they're quite fond of technology. Old people might as well leave someone young to manage their Bitcoin holdings, if they become interested in the crypto revolution. With so many negative comments surrounding Bitcoin and Blockchain technology, old people are prejudiced about the entire industry. They'll think it's a scam from the start. But we all know that's not true. It's one of the many reasons why old people will stick with Fiat no matter what.

All in all, old people can understand Bitcoin if they're willing to put some attention to it. Always remember: "where there's a will, there's a way". With so many educational material available either online or physically, there's nothing stopping an old person from joining the crypto train. All we have to do is guide them towards the right path in order to boost adoption of Bitcoin in the mainstream world. Just my opinion Smiley

All in all, old people can understand Bitcoin if they're willing to put some attention to it. Always remember: "where there's a will, there's a way".
The adage is true.

I am not interested in getting the people around me to know bitcoin, especially those over 50 years old. Even though they still have the ability to know more about something, their trust and confidence about online investing has weakened especially for high risk asset like bitcoin.

While many people around me also dont believe in cryptocurrency investing system because they believe more in gold and property. So this is another reason why I am not interested in telling them more about bitcoin and its investment system.

It is really tough to teach bitcoin to old people. A lot of people are uneducated and besides, a huge number of people aren't aware of blockchain technology.

IMO don't get them into this. This stuff is complicated for them and they might lose what they've saved up for the end of days.
true what you say, it's better not to tell them because it will be difficult for us too, on average those over 60 years of age will have difficulty catching new things.

better just let it run naturally and we don't force them to understand and use Bitcoin.

Many people is making tangible points on how to make old adults to comprehend bitcoin more better. To make old adults to understand the concepts of bitcoin very nice, is base on the intellectual capability or ability of old adults to comprehend a text, because educating old adult who are not bookish but ready to learn bitcoin is very difficult to educate him or her, a process were by the old adult is a bookish person which is " lover of book" its very easy as [ ABCD] to understand, because we can educate them through online videos such as YouTube video for proper evidence, after showing them the video concerning bitcoin, PDF article of bitcoin should be down and install in their phone or laptop for frequent reading to enable the old adult to comprehend better.
But a situation were by the old adult is not reading type of person, educate the person with illustrations concerning thing surrounded within the environment.

Like a bunch of others are saying just teach them how to use it. I mean people don't need to know about the bitcoin revolution, politics, or lack of politics to utilize bitcoin. They just need to use it which would in fact make the revolution happen anyway despite any lack of understanding in the bitcoin system.

Heck people like me don't even know how regular/fiat/government/physical money really works yet we use it just fine. This occurrence would be similar to bitcoin. Don't understand, but use basically.

I think you can easily be able to make old people understand Bitcoin by explaining it to them using simple set of words which is familiar to them so they can easily in take information that you wanted them to understand. Start of course on introduce what Bitcoin really is to them which includes basic concepts, the importance of its existence, well of course application on how they can efficiently and effectively use Bitcoin to become part of their daily lives. Just start with the basic concepts that they will surely understand and avoid getting into the complex and technical which will surely be difficult for them to understand that might take them to loose interest on learning it for they will find it complicated or hard to understand. Do also tutorials on how they can make use of it on a real deal which is more or like how they can applied the information they have learned on a real life situation. If we are really into wanting them to learn and understand Bitcoin, we must adjust into the approach they will surely understand what we are trying to get into them.

Letting old people understand what bitcoin is will be a lot of work to do. There will always be this thought in their mind, "is bitcoin a scam?" "it is a scam". Lots of older people are not that easy to educate when it comes to new knowledge, they will always say that they are not used to what you are trying to explain them. They really don't need to learn what bitcoin is, they will just be surprised in the future that they are already using crypto.

I don't see any strategies that will work in teaching the old about Bitcoin.

We know already that the old people doesn't have the capability to memorize things because of their age, their are tend to forget easier compare to those people who are around the 30's or 40's. It is hard for them to teach Bitcoin especially for those old people who are not techy or not even exposed to the technology since on their prime, things

I disagree with you because the chance of old adults to understand bitcoin is there, it base on the tutor and also the level of understanding of learner. age dont have to do with understanding because I have seen young adult who has shallow brain, while some old  adults are very fast to comprehend a passage's ,and majority in bitcointalk community is up to 30yrs and 40yrs but their still doing well in forum.

I think before you teach and explain this idee to them, you should make sure if they are really want to listen to this topic and are interesd in learing new things. Because if they don' have any interests of it, it's really difficult to let them understand.
Or maybe you can watch the academic videos on Binance. I always watch their videos to get knew more about the crypto world and I am still really new in this area.

For my own understanding is that we are now in Era of technology, which bitcoin has made it clear to everyone who wants to upgrade his/her knowledge, secondly bitcoin is a digital assets, which we need to show move people around us, while taken the practical part by using ATM master card to buy bitcoin and sell, through Binance exchange or other exchange platform as the case may be.

Before proceeding on introducing bitcoin into those old people, you should know first if they are interested. If it looks like they are not interested, then you do not have to continue teaching it into them. Not old people are open on new technologies or new blockchains such as bitcoin, but there's also some that are exciting to know about it.
I guess if someone plans to start introducing or teaching it into them, he/she already know what bitcoin is, does not necessary to be much, enough is enough. They won't understand bitcoin if they are not interested in the first place.

Old people has the capacity to learn this kind of things, it will only depends if they are interested in learning it or not. Some old people are highly skilled about technology too, specially those who are in the field of technology, some are not into technology and didn't even own an android phone all their life. And yup its really hard to generalize them as someone who can't learn new things, age doesn't mean you have to stop learning. Its just that this thread is talking about those old people who are not into technology and harder to learn something technical. And you can't deny you've met this kind of old people too, maybe your uncle or aunt or your local neighbor who's always irritated with everything. Just kidding.

the first thing you have to nail is to provide proof of bitcoin itself.  only when they already believe, teach them slowly.  because without proof parents will not believe and want to accept and even learn what bitcoin is and how to get income from bitcoin.
You can prove the existence of bitcoin, but I think it will be more difficult to convince them that you can make good money on it

Not even true.

Convincing then that you could make money on it is very easy, just show them the funds and the transaction you have and they would believe you in just seconds. Old people might not be into advance technology stuff but they are not that dumb when you have proofs to prove that Bitcoin do really exist and it could change your future by believing on its capability that beats the fiat system.

Older people have always preferred wallets that can be easily exchanged. There are some people who want to use the user-friendly wallet even it costs more money. I don't think it's possible to make such people interested in using Bitcoin.  But even if anyone told me to try to get them interested in Bitcoin, first of all I will tell them what bitcoin is! What bitcoin works and how it works. I will tell them about its history. How the price of bitcoin has risen. Saying this will make them curious about BTC. And finally, I will tell them the details about bitcoin, bitcoin transaction and bitcoin market.

Old people aren't stupid, of course. But I guess the explanation is difficult just because, as you say, Bitcoin can change my future, your future and the future of many other people, but when will people start to feel these changes? How many years will it take when Bitcoin will be accepted in all countries? Many people, old and young, even now do not know what bitcoin is. And for old people this future is very far away, moreover, it is more difficult for old people to get used to many aspects in our time. At least in my country, many pensioners are not used to paying with a pay card in stores, they receive a pension on their cards, but they withdraw cash from cards and use them. Many retirees are stuck in the time of their youth, but times have changed a lot. Many are reluctant to accept new technologies, it is more difficult for them to get used to and understand, or maybe they do not consciously understand this, because they lived without it before and everything was fine, why do they need it now? But I certainly do not speak for all the old people. I am rather talking about the stubbornness that I myself have encountered.

In my perception, although bitcoin is very hard thing to explain to old persons, but i think the easiest way for them to understand is to tell its history or how it began. From its lowest value into popularity. Maybe by that way many old people would understand the concept of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. And also it's good to tell them that many investors got rich by investing in Bitcoin until now, so they might be enlightened.

It's not difficult to comprehend the use of bitcoins, even a 5-year-old kid can easily understand it.
There's no advanced science simply purchase your bitcoin move it to your wallet and hold it for the long haul.
The main thing which we have to understand not to sell your coin when you're in a panic.
Bitcoin is decentralized it doesn't mean it will tumble down. Bitcoin is designed to increase so all we need simply show restraint

What are the specific range of your target with your statement old people?.

If you are trying to reach out the age over 50++ years old and does not related into the world of business and investment I think you are just wasting your time because they are afraid of changes, they want to mind their own business and be productive on their life.

I think if you will introduce them the use of the bitcoin they will said probably

I can't make deep down there
It's better to save my money for my family
I can do it my self
I don't want to risk any more

They are the one who value the money their earn.
