The Premier League kicks off this weekend so our boredom will soon be over as it's a league we look forward to betting on, of course.

I have prepared a combo bet for the first week:
Man United @1.60
Liverpool @1.33
Newcastle @1.35
Man City @1.81
Total odds @5.20

It won't be much $10 is enough to bet, because that's what I can afford to lose if it's $10.

My bet is almost similar to yours, but I'm not underestimating Chelsea in their first week. I take double chance as a safe bet. It's probably that Chelsea learned from their loss to City in the pre-season game.

But, why don't you take Arsenal against wolves? It's also one of ez match to bet beside Liverpool and Newcastle.

If am the one placing this bet then Chelsea will take a long time before ever I have the confidence to even add them to my betslip because that team despite the fact that they have signed a whole lot of players they would still find it difficult to get that consistency of winning and playing performance most especially this first week of play I would definitely not add them to my ticket. That team Chelsea did me a whole lot of things that almost certainly gave me nightmares last season and am not prepared to start with them this season.

That's why I took a double chance on my bet for Chelsea vs Man City. And this is to anticipate if Chelsea would perform as well as last season. But, it seems they're degrading now. I mean, Chelsea's current form is not that good compared to when Poch was there. And City was able to take two points from them. Unlike last season, when City always got draws in home and away games against Chelsea.

And lucky me, I have all of my bets on my parlay that worked well.

Later tonight in the English Premier League, newly promoted side Leicester City will host Tottenham Hotspur in their first league game of the season and I've been curious to know what most of us thinks about this game. For me, I think the away team is more likely to get a better result but that I don't think will come easily considering the fact that the game will be played at King Power stadium. What's your take on the game? Do you think the home team will win or the visiting team will get the better of them?

An important point is that Tottenham lost the last match against Leicester by a huge margin of 4-1. The match was Leicester's home match. However, before this, Tottenham won the last four matches between these two teams.

Although it is Leicester's home match, nobody is considering the Leicester team as favorites in this match. Because Leicester's squad is not that strong. On the other hand, there is no doubt that Tottenham's squad is stable enough. I will just say that Tottenham will win very easily if Min son performs well. But I am interested to see Dominic Solanke's performance. Last season he scored 19 goals and 3 assists. He is with a more stable squad this season. Hopefully we will see better performances from Dominic Solanke this season.

Leicester City sign Oliver Skipp from Tottenham Spurs

Leicester City have announced the signing of midfielder Oliver Skipp from Tottenham for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium that runs through until 2029.

The deal is understood to be worth £20m plus a further £5m in add-ons.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Skipp said: "I'm really excited to sign. I've got the feeling that it's a good group of people and a good group of players. I'm sure that we've got a squad capable of challenging in every game. You look around the squad and there are lots of exciting players who have played in the Premier League and I'm really excited to see what this group can achieve.

"I had conversations with the people here and they gave me a feeling of warmth and that they were excited to have me on board. As a player, when you feel that excitement, that's something you can use to develop your game. The staff here know me as well - Steve [Cooper], I have worked with at England so there's definitely a good relationship there and I'm keen to push on and show what I can do."

Like I did emphasized on some comments I posted on this thread in the past days as regards to the current premier league season, it is wrong to expect that every club, specially the ones that performed poorly in the last season, will come back now to automatically start performing well, you and I know that Manchester city is way ahead of Chelsea, they've won the premiere league title three times now consecutively, there was no way Chelsea was just gonna come around now and beat them, that happening would have caused a great upset in the world of sports betting.

Even last season, Chelsea started off poorly and it took them some time before they started showing some great performances against strong clubs like Manchester city, Arsenal and the rest.
So, for me personally, and again, I believe it's still too early to begin to judge whose doing well and whose not, allow Chelsea four to five games and let's see how they are performing after that.

With the new Chelsea board and management, I feel like I can not bet on Chelsea to win and lose at the same time. Chelsea is likely to struggle in many games this season, and I can’t afford to bet on them losing. Every team seems to be chasing a better version of Guardiola, but Chelsea doesn’t measure up mentally or tactically. I didn’t see any new patterns of play today in fact, the style they played today was disappointing and made little sense.

Chelsea still have a lot to improve this season if they want to compete better in the Premier League, because if they don't improve their way of playing in every game, it will be very worrying that they will have to fight not to be relegated this season. Because all other teams in the Premier League at this time (excluding the promoted teams) have made more significant improvements so that they can compete in every game even if they have to lose, but not ridiculously.

Don you think it is too early to judge Chelsea's performance from the first game they played for the season, and we all know it was a game played against the strongest team in the premier league. If Chelsea had played their game with any random premier league and they failed to win  then we can quickly express the dissapointment. I know Chelsea have not been performing well for a longtime and fans was expecting to see something different in the first game. There is still enough time to see what Chelsea will be upto in their games this season,  I don't want to use this first game to make conclusions.  

One game against Manchester City, an elite team. Come on, folks! City is the Premier League gold standard; it is not any team. Pep's got them performing like monster; even the top teams struggle to stay up. So, Chelsea lost. Big deal. Enzo is a wise man who will sort everything out. Maybe they need to tighten up the defense, maybe they need to be more aggressive on offense. But its one game, folks.

Every team in the long Premier League season experiences ups and downs. Recall that early on especially, even the best teams have down days. Thus, lets allow Chelsea have time to settle in. I know they will return stronger and I have faith in them.

Although Chelsea lost, at least the dominance in terms of ball possession was quite thin. Chelsea only weakness is in the front line which is not sharp while the rest is quite good, because Manchester City is considered more prepared on the field. Enzo Maresca must continue to try his best in his first season. Considering the fate of previous Chelsea coaches, they were always easily fired if they failed to satisfy Chelsea top brass. It will take time and patience for Chelsea to return to their best, so I wouldn't be surprised if they find it equally difficult to break into the top four this season.

The last match of this week will be played in less than 3 hours but in my opinion the match is very worth watching apart from the fact that there are no other English league matches today of course I want to see how Leicester play after returning to the Premier League this season , Tottenham will definitely try to play maximum in their first match considering that the win was a good start for them in this season after last season they failed to penetrate the Champions League, while Leicester City, who lost their coach this season, will of course try to show their best performance again to repeat the success of the past.

If we looking from Head to head between tottenham and leicester so far , it is clear that Tottenham are far ahead of Leicester City so far, but in my opinion for that the match, of course head to head cannot be used as a reference to underestimate Leicester City, so in my opinion a goal bet of more than 2.5 seems quite good if you look from the defense of both teams which conceded a lot of goals although both teams played at different levels last season, just like you, I'm also quite sure there will be a lot of goals scored in that match, but to choosing who will win later is of course difficult in my opinion because So far we don't know the strength from of the two teams in the first match.

Win is a win, but I wouldn't be praising Liverpool for good form just yet. They had potentially the easiest opponents out there, as Ipswich only got promoted to the Premier League this season, and newly promoted teams don't tend to be doing very well. They will most likely end up at the bottom of the table.
Liverpool has scored 2 goals, but it took them a while. They didn't pose much of a threat in the first half, with only one somewhat good chance.

The real test will come in two weeks when they'll face Man United in Manchester, who played a good game against Man City in the FA Community Shield and won against Fulham this weekend.

A satisfying performance from the big clubs that I chose in my bet and all of them got 3 points at the beginning of this season.
It's a shame that Chelsea had to fail to lose points when playing against Man City and actually Chelsea had performed quite well, it's just that the strength of Man City's attack line was very difficult to stop and Chelsea's defense had to concede.
That's very natural because the quality of Man City's players is better than Chelsea's at the moment.

Chelsea agree deal to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the permanent signing of Portugal forward Joao Felix.

The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms on a six-year contract with the option of an additional 12 months.

The Athletic reported last week that the Premier League club had opened talks with their La Liga counterparts regarding a deal to sign Joao Felix. That came as Atletico striker Samu Omorodion’s proposed move to Stamford Bridge appeared to collapse due to problems finalising the Spaniard’s contract.

Joao Felix previously spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Chelsea, scoring four goals in 20 appearances for the Premier League club. He then spent last term on loan at Barcelona, registering 10 goals and six assists in 44 games.

I didn't really think that Chelsea could hold Man City to a draw they are in the hands of a new manager it will be a bit difficult unless Poch is still in charge then it might be a bit different, then I had faith Man City would win easily and this time it was right.
