It would be great if the victory could increase the confidence of the Liverpool team because Liverpool are in need of a lot of wins to be in a better position than now in the Premier League. It would be great if the victory could increase the confidence of the Liverpool team because Liverpool are in need of a lot of wins to be in a better position than now in the Premier League. This is a good thing, regardless of how their strategy in this match made it look like they were only focused on defense because they were constantly forced to be in their own defense but this win is of course something very good and I am happy with this result even though it is from the start I wasn't really sure they could win.

I just realized that we have midweek game as well - it's West Ham at home. Although they haven't started the season well, they were really good last season and did not forget to play football.

I wasn't surprised seeing the scoreline of Liverpool winning Manchester City, for a start Liverpool aren't Manchester united. Liverpool has just been unlucky this season and not that they have been playing badly, they just lack the last touches to win them game. Again derbies or rivalry such as this doesn't usually depends on who is inform as most times it boils down to who what it more. Which team is willing to go the extra mile (putting in all their strength) to get something from the match. Yesterday it was Liverpool that had the edge and so it has been in last 5 matches as Liverpool has won twice, drawing twice as well while losing just ones.

I don't think Chelsea is ready to face Manchester city I understand that our defense has been impressive so far but that's for teams we're supposed to defeat anyday. We haven't face a strong team yet. I won't count Ac Milan as their players weren't fit and now too we have injuries in our squad. We can see how vulnerable we were in the Aston villa game. Facing a strong side might get us exposed at the moment.

City also had great chances to score goals and even more than Liverpool, but Alisson was good last night. It's clear that a team that can beat Rangers 7-1 or Bournemouth 9-0 has a huge potential, but for some reason they don't always get such a good game. I expected a better game from City, and they didn't deserve to lose in this match. Thus, Arsenal go into the lead and this complicates the task for Guardiola. Finally a game Liverpool fans can be proud of. We did really well for the majority of the game and we deserved both the win and the clean sheet.
I think Guardiola made the mistake starting with 3 at the back, when they switched to a back 4 in the 2nd half they were much more dangerous. But so were we though.

A win in the derby is nice, but it took us only to the 8th spot in the league. What we need now is consistency.

This match should be a symbol for the other teams that Manchester City is not a strong threat to them and this shows that Liverpool's strength is better because they have great teamwork that with good coordination they managed to beat Manchester City easily.

I don't understand why you think the Newcastle team is weak. Have you not seen the performance of Newcastle this season? Newcastle has lost just one of their 10 matches this season. On the other hand, Manchester United has been defeated in 3 matches. Newcastle's performance is very stable in this match.

Newcastle United had bad performance in the past season but after the summer, they have been improving a lot and better than themselves one season ago. Manchester United are still mostly the same and don't actually improve considerably after the summer and with a new coach.

Manchester United's performance has been poor since the start of the season. I would say United has managed to stabilize itself compared to the earlier matches of the season. Against Newcastle, they had several attacks. But due to the good performance of Newcastle's defenders, United could not score any goals. All in all, I would say that the match was quite enjoyable.

The match is very interesting and it has all factors, emotional, entertained, great shots, rejected goals, just lack of a single goal. This match is good enough for both Uniteds as they shown that they can play fairly at top level against strong opponent. They both need to improve themselves if wanting to complete the season in top four and participate in Champions League next season.

I agree with you. and indeed Manchester United still haven't found the best strategy in their game. for the back line I think has started to improve. but in attack the Manchester United players are still not well organized. so many opportunities are wasted. There was a lot of doubt in each of their attacks. so there were a lot of unnecessary passes yesterday against Newcastle. and it happened because of the lack of confidence in every Manchester United striker. But Newcastle's defense is pretty solid I think. so the MU players are very difficult to penetrate the Newcastle defense. and I like the counter-attack pattern from Newcastle. and if United have a counter-attack like that then I'm sure MU will win the match. but unfortunately MU did not look to do a quick counter-attack pattern in the match. Nah, Liverpool winning against Manchester City is simply a fluke. Anyone who said Liverpool could score more goals hasn't seen the game last night. For over the first half and second half before the goal from Mohamed Salah, everyone thought it would be a bad day for Manchester City, to let Liverpool get a draw on them. Most Liverpool fans even agree a draw is their best shot. But Mohamed Salah gets 3 points for Liverpool alone with luck and no more after that. Cause luck is not something reliable to count on. A lesson for Manchester City as well. Shouldn't so full of themselves even against a weaker team like Liverpool.
