I thought of one more thing yesterday.
I was at the local bank.
They were talking about making "select" branches cashless.
(no-one wants or needs it apparently,( we begged to differ after I said you charge extra for cash, instead of less is the only reason why)
Also leveraged to the hilt and could not afford the people asking for their money.
Reading my doom porn Zero hedge, i find this is planned in the good ol USA as well.
This is another BIG tick for decentralised currencies/ assets.
A lot of the talk about BTC on the aforementioned website...is what if they turned off the internet.
Well if they did that to digital fiat...same result eh.
.............................
Question is what do you pay *cough* campaign donations with now?
.............................
I really have to start another small business and give discounts for Uno or silver.
Regards,
Tacktic.

has anyone actually withdrawn any of the 5 tons that were dropped on cryptsy?  strange that the superwallet hasn't budged.
Playing their own game? trading cross holdings?
Not that Macquarie would ever do that!!!!! Never!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting if did happen. or whoever bought didn't take offline, which would indicate a trading stake.
.............
Time as in all things will reveal.

Woo hoo! Halving!

And speaking on restrictions on cash:

"Greece has announced a surcharge on cashpoint withdrawals and financial transactions in an attempt to stop capital flight out . . . "
http://www.theguardian.com/business/live/2015/may/05/greek-ministers-varoufakis-sapin-draghi-eurozone-growth-live#block-55490546e4b0ac841c97bd58

Is this a good time for some 'on-da-street' crypto-coinin'? setting up wallets for friends, family, local merchants?

Distributed-Vault Coin is now cryptographically securable on the rockchain. Kudos to Shinohai (Siameze).

Just 991 blocks left now.  I understand the merged mining update takes effect at the same time... and my assumption is the pegged sidechains implementation will be following as soon after as Blockstream releases their first public version.

HashEngineering wanted to see a few AUX-POW blocks appear on the chain to verify the unobtaniumj library was functioning correctly. So we are still on hold. Feel free to check out progress on their github account. If anyone is itching for a return of funds please PM me with a signed message from the origin address.

0.00520833 kg/minute

192 minutes to create 1 UNO

... so those 500kg lots for sale in the books will take 96006 minutes to mine ... 66 days of production.

Don't forget the Dice games that Cryptapus provides for us at https://cryptap.us/uno/dice/

It looks like activity has tapered off over there. Lets remember to give Cryptapus a little love for the services he provides to to the community.

One of my favorte strategies is to send a few Uno to the 95% game and then keep rolling the winnings down. I've made it all the way to 25%. Smiley  Of course I am not very good at knowing when to stop, but one of these days I'm going to roll it all the way down to 1% and be a rich man.  That will probably the the day Cryptapus takes his games offline. So in the meantime, try your luck and have some fun with your Uno.

Should happen in 22 hours.

I am making my first zero-gravity purchase (7.5 Uno) through Un-Ex today. I just can't wait another day to get started. Besides, the price really wants to rise right now.  Only 225 new Uno will be mined each month following this halving.

The next next halving should occur in December 2015. This is the year of zero gravity Unobtanium.

For newcomers:  Uno was fairly launched in 2013.  Following an initial period of low block rewards to prevent Instamining, the UNO block reward was set to 1 Uno/block, and has halved every 100k blocks since. For the next 22 hours, the reward remains at .03125 beforing droping to .015625.
To sustain the network, the last 50k Uno will be mined over 300 years at the minimum reward of .001 Uno/block.  AuthPow (merged mining) Uno with Bitcoin will become effective at Block 600k. These steps will help ensure the health of the Uno network into the future. This is why Uno behaves differently than other cryptos. It is fairly launched, with super low inflation and no POS. It's the closest thing to a pure cryptocommodity that you'll find.  An active community of collectors/investors are accumulating Uno for the long term, and have sustained the price and interest in Uno since 2013.

In a world of scam coins, ipos, disappointing crypto investments, unkept development roadmaps, and coins that simply fall apart,  Unobtanium can be difficult to get your head around.  Take a deeper look, and if you like what you see, join the Unoverse and hang out with us.
