"There are problems with memory consumption and battery drain since it requires to be run in background or user will need to wait for long sync time on every run."
I use the Shildbach android Bitcoin wallet. Don't leave it open. When needed, open it; it hammers up to speed; I send -- though it can take some time to get 'full green circle' confirmation' (but I am, quite literally, probably the last Bitcoin outpost on the bottom left corner of Oz).

That's the trade-off for decentralization I would assume. Someone has to eat the energy to keep up with the blockchain. I've always been interested in letting block explorers do the hard work and the private keys stay with the user, hence my work with jswallet and copay. This is a bit different being an independent node. I will say, once this is complete we will have an open implementation of unobtaniumj (unobtanium in java) which from my understanding opens quite a few development doors to other applications. But my java knowledge is not up to speed on the exact possibilities...

Teach me, please:
our trade-volume for today shows 23% in XRP/UNO trade on Cryptsy. One Uno should be worth plus-minus 285 XRP. But it seems that someone sold 285 Uno at 211 XRP each -- ?!

I guess I better get started right away! In seriousness, I am glad to see that there is support for this project. I'm very excited about this project. Has the forthcoming fork for merged mining with Bitcoin been taken into account? I don't want you to expend effort building something that may need changing in a couple of months.

What a response from this awesome community! @FK I remember Cryptapus mentioning the fork, but don't know if HashEngineering knew about it. Is that something that Hash could talk with BW about so they don't have to duplicate work? Credit to Cryptapus for heading this up. Great job!

I logged in to say the same - really impressed with how quickly this community responded!
You know what might give us some great publicity?
If the UNO Community were to make a donation to a charity.
Just a thought.

Morning, Zelig.
There is the Blue Crypto Awards (one of my favourite Unobtanium things!). It's sort of a charity, and if we did want to donate to charity, perhaps its admin base would serve.

I am aware of the Merge Mining feature that will be activate in the future. I will be forking my Namecoin Wallet, which supports merge mining in the validation of the blocks.

Dedicated Android Wallet for UNO - Request funds for developmentSee the original request here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.msg10831261#msg10831261We now have 159 of our 125 UNO (at today's price) goal! udroidNXd1YNoL1DgNu8NktemcnexiBByMYou have all pushed this over the top! As they say, many hands make light work. I am glad to see this community going the extra mile to show our new Android app dev. what their work means. Good luck to HashEngineering on this endeavor, you have a strong reward waiting for you. I will proceed to payout as stated in the first post on this topic, namely 1/2 at app launch, then 1/2 a month after, or after any showstopper bugs are squashed (whichever comes first). By all means if you wish to continue, or didn't get a chance to donate please do. Keep in mind that devs. with skin in the game tend to stick around. Thanks everyone for your generosity!

Requires an electrum server, something to think about...

@HashEngineering, is it possible for the proposed Android "vault" to carry the same address(es) as one's desktop vault? Or would the Android vault have to have totally new addresses, and one would have to move funds back and forth, depending on which platform one is using at that particular time?
It would be nice if one were on the road with one's phone or tablet to be able to send money, receive money, etc. from one's "main" (desktop) UNO address, and to be able to track that main address' balance, or other addresses in the vault which might be accruing mining revenue.
Would this be possible if one took one's desktop vault backup and were able to "import" it into one's Android UNO vault, thus the two vaults would "mirror" each other and if one made a transaction on the Android and got back to the desktop, you would see it immediately on the desktop? (And, of course, vice versa?)

The Franko had a Hash Engineering android wallet early on. This is Franko is Freedom, the lead dev: " . . . . HashEngineer does a really good job with his wallets. I personally use the FRK Android wallet on 3 mobile devices and its the easiest way for me to send frk to my friends and family since they really dont know how to run a node." http://www.reddit.com/r/Franko/comments/2ywjnr/entrance_demo_3rd_party_login_system/
