The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I think it would be a good idea if we somehow systematically and slowly scoop up all that uno from those 2-3 traders on bittrex who it looks like to me are selling between each other and keeping the prices artificially lower. I will continue to buy 0.5-2uno a day from them in hopes to deplete their supplys over time.

From a quick look at the nodes It would Appear Asia And South America do not have many, might be a good place to start? Tons in north america and a handful in europe.

I am always partial to SA, however, in this case, it would seem more beneficial to node in Asia? More growth?

Whatever the community thinks will generate the best return / results.

I have some bad news on Sao Paulo. AWS charges 2x for that region. Its the most expensive.   I'll think we'll have to pass on South America with AWS, unless someone wants to foot the diff ($10/mo total).

In addition to Frankfurt and Sydney, we are also adding Ireland today at 52.211.157.41, sponsored by Kim Jong Un.

UNO for this project meet me at uVZZ8kEBxPyoDgEdempjJbxg8fM8pFUVKM.

This discussion was started by members of the Unobtanium community as a moderated forum to share news, ideas, and resources about Unobtanium, an exciting and useful crypto-currency/crypto-commodity.
German Uno thread.
Chinese Uno thread.
A backup of this UNO Bitcoin Thread

Un is rare, fair SHA256d, pure Proof of Work crypto-currency with fast 3 minute block targets and KGW difficulty adjustments every block.
It was fairly launched October 18, 2013 by Blazr2.

There was no pre-mine of Unobtanium, not even a single block, and no IPO. There is no POS inflation. The launch was an undisputed fair start, with low rewards of .001 Un the first 2000 blocks to give all miners a fair shot. Unobtanium's blockchain (aka "The Rockchain") has been consistently mined at high difficulty since it's launch.

Block rewards began with 1 coin per block, halving every 100,000 blocks and finishing with a minimum subsidy of .00001 Un. The final 250,000th Un will be mined in about 300 years. The current Un block reward is .015625.

Un is often referred to as a crypto-commodity due to it's rarity and desirability, and it's tendency to hold it's value even in a declining Bitcoin market.  Uno has an active community, a trust-based exchange,  a secure merged mined blockchain.

Take a look at Unobtanium, and you'll quickly see that it is set apart from other cryptocurrencies in important ways, including low inflation, community, longevity, fairness, rareness, distribution, simplicity, security, and optimism. Uno is a different kind of cryptocurrency, and is well on its way to becoming the first cryptocurrency desired as a non-asset backed commodity.

Merged Mining
Uno implemented merge mining with Bitcoin at block 600,000 in May, 2015. Merge mining allows a Bitcoin miners to also mine for Uno. As a result the security of Uno's blockchain increased significantly. Bitcoin miners earn more for their hash, while contributing to the security of Uno's blockchain. Miners will continue to receive Uno block rewards for the next 300 years.

I would like to thank all of you who purchased a node! Not only does it help the network but you are helping the uno price by holding the Amount in UNO.

Thank you to the best community in crypto! Smiley

@FK can you drop us a list of the added nodes?

Or

I am not knowing where to find a listing of current node locations - I am sure it is somewhere on cryptoid, but could not find it.

@Kingn56 I agree, best community out there!

I have them in the OP. Here's what's up so far.  I'm working on BC's node today, which will be in Singapore.

addnode=52.57.77.14      Frankfurt, Germany, Sponsored by FallingKnife through 10/1/2017.
addnode=52.64.127.231   Sydney, Australia, sponsored by 'D L EX.' through 10/2/2017.
addnode=52.19.39.5       Ireland (W. Europe), sponsored by Anonymous through 10/4/2017
addnode=52.221.247.224  Singapore, sponsored by Bitcoin Charlie

If you notice any issues, just PM me and I'll reboot the thing. They shouldn't need too much attention though. That's what I'm gambling, anyway. Smiley

You can also get a list of nodes/peers that are seen by different services:

Yeah, https://coinexchange.io/network/peers/UNO Is the best for nodes IMO.

Your question is asked repeatedly through that bitco.in thread there, and it's also answered repeatedly. The dev for NXT jl777, re-wrote the Bitcoin blockchain syncing code entirely from scratch, from the ground up, in pure C. This he did so that you may sync the blockchain in parallel to your network connection speed. He broke it down to 2,000 block segments, or close to 2GB blocks rather, and on a 1GB connection you can supposedly download and sync the entire 65+ GB BTC chain in 30 minutes. A bit over an hour or two to sync the entire chain from start to finish on a 20Mbit connection. It's very, very technical and all code related so that's about the easiest way I can explain it to you. He is skipping certain methods of reorg'ing and he's also doing it very security oriented, but not privacy oriented. Overall, he's done all this so that Iguana all together is; the Bitcoin Core wallet, plus blockchain parellel syncing capable, as well as what ever other features they're working on, such as this "Decentralized SuperNET exchange" built into their wallet. I still have to do more research on it and review the code. He's been writing all this code from scratch since last November and polishing it all up now. Another thing is they've made a version of it for a Chrome plugin so it syncs to the BTC chain very quickly and cross platform for any OS from which you can compile Chrome. Oh yeah, by writing the code in pure C he was able to cut out almost all the dependencies so now it only needs like one depend so it's crazy fast in comparison to a more bloaty C++ OO codebase. This was his goal. And yeah it's controversial because Gmaxwell has been nitpicking it so you'll have to read it ALL to catch up. The initial thread has been split a couple times.

Thanks @rddrocket. Even I can I understand most of that.

Where can I download the Iguana wallet that supports Uno? I checked supernet.org, but their Supernet lite wallet doesn't claim to have UNO.

I tihnk it would be a good idea if we brought a little bit of volume with UNO to c-cex, it would really be unfortunate to lose them as an exchange.

And with the bit license shit coming up probably relatively soon with bittrex it would probably be a good idea to move volume up a bit on the other exchanges in preparation for a bittrex exodus worst-case-scenario.

I've not looked into using that wallet yet, just looked at the purpose of the underlying code and whatnot. You'd think they have it up on their site, but I also believe they're still polishing up for release quite possibly.

In that thread you can locate jl777's Github account, it's the only place the code seems to be now.

SuperNET has a super shitty list of coins..

Fibre is on there, which was retarded from the start and is currently completely dead. Coin does not work, no blocks moving for several weeks.
Bitstarcoin? Seriously?
VPNCoin
Vericoin
Syscoin..

Only two on there that I see that are somewhat coins are BitcoinDark, which I personally think is a scam, and Boolberry, which is a decent CryptoNote coin but the dev has been gone for ages with no new activity. Hope Jl777 does something else with Iguana and doesn't continue to associate it with a broken SuperNET. Whatever SuperNET is even supposed to be anymore these days. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong about Syscoin. I see that it's supposed to be decentralized, offering this or that service, smart contracts, etc. Do they work? I'm so pessimistic towards any new coins they've just all been scams.

http://www.supernet.org/about.php

So, I should have figured coming from jl777 that SuperNET was a NXT-pegged asset.

So far I see that Syscoin is an MM coin, so there's a plus. It's got address aliasing from Namecoin on the blockchain, so that's a plus. Escrow arbitrating is actually built into the wallet and works in a fashion with an alias once you purchase an on-chain alias through the blockchain. Ok... looking kind of nifty, I will actually check this coin out tomorrow. High hash Merge mined coin with aliasing, escrow, and decentralization built in.

Official Syscoin 2.0 wallet. Major milestone for Syscoin development and introduces a large number of new RPC command and features some of which include:

All features use blockchain technology
Decentralized Marketplace
Name Aliases for easier addressing
Full Affiliate system for reselling, reseller discounts, and more
Private selling
Encrypted Messaging
Digital Certificates on the blockchain which can be directly sold on the Marketplace
Decentralized price pegging
Third party arbitrated escrow for secure transactions and buying with confidence

Went through some hard forkage and doesn't have a prebuilt wallet for you Windows users.

I agree. We need to use our exchanges, or they will be lost.  Once lost, they are nearly impossible to get back again.  Its easier to keep them with a little activity.

Dang. I stopped some of the servers to update security policy and AWS changed IP addresses on me. I shouldn't have to do it again, but here are the latest addnodes.

addnode=52.57.77.14      Frankfurt, Germany, Sponsored by FallingKnife through 10/1/2017.
addnode=52.64.127.231   Sydney, Australia, sponsored by 'D L EX.' through 10/2/2017.
addnode=52.19.39.5       Ireland (W. Europe), sponsored by Anonymous through 10/4/2017
addnode=52.221.247.224  Singapore, sponsored by Bitcoin Charlie

If you run an open node and would like credit for it, contact me and I'll add you to the list of "known" nodes.

You guys ready to see XMR go back down to a couple bucks? lol

https://cointelegraph.com/news/monero-loses-darknet-market-in-apparent-exit-scam

Have a hurricane coming this way by Friday evening-ish-Saturday so if you don't see me for a few days I'm probably without power. Might check in from the phone if possible.
UNO keeps on truckin', it doesn't care about hurricanes.

Not saying XMR can't or won't go further down, but that article appears to have been part of some market manipulation. Somebody likely loaded up on a huge short before publishing that. Very shady.

Good luck with that hurricane, hope nothing bad happens!

"Update: Since this article's publication, AlphaBay has responded that they are up and running, that interruptions in Monero transactions were due to a software upgrade."

Time will tell.

Keep safe!
